This vacation property offers a comfortable 2500 Sq ft home with two master suites. One master bath has an open, double headed shower. Additional room with 3 single beds, and a 4th with a double.
There is a eat in kitchen with table for 6, expands to hold 8. Lots of counter space and an island.

The location is a beautiful, secluded, mountain retreat atmosphere only minutes from historic downtown Salida, 10 minutes from the Arkansas River and 20 min from Monarch Ski Mountain! It is Located on 3 private acres surrounded by BLM and National Forest.
It offers panoramic view of the Arkansas River Valley, S Mountain and the spectacular fourteen thousand foot peaks of the Sawatch Range.
Relax with your morning coffee or tea while sitting on the back deck listening to elk, watching the deer or in the evening a few sounds of coyotes!
In the summer have an exciting day of white water rafting, kayaking, or fishing on the Arkansas River which features the exciting Royal Gorge or Brown's Canyon. There is also ATV trail riding, hiking, or mountain biking.
Looking for outdoor adventure? Direct access to the Rainbow Trail head 2 miles away for hiking in summer and snowshoeing in winter. The Crest Trail is near by by biking enthusiast. And miles of hiking trails are out the back door. You are just minutes from Salida Hot Springs Pool and Salida's public nine-hole golf course and you are surrounded by the awesome sight of 14 thousand foot peaks and you've got a vacation to remember!
Winter you are minutes from Monarch Ski Resort yet still close to town for dining. Snow Mobile rentals available nearby for some more outdoor fun.

We stayed for an extended period and even worked from this location and the owners were very accommodating. They know the area and know the good hiking/biking trails. The house is located outside of town but close enough for an easy bike ride or good walk to town as well as easy access to both Rainbow Trails. The house was clean, had plenty of space and the pictures accurately portray what you can expect. When we weren’t eating at the local pizza places we cooked our meals in the well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed good birding, wildlife activity and some beautiful storm clouds right off the deck. This house is included in the fond memories we have of our first stay in Salida.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is a great place to stay and well worth the money. Nice and clean with plenty of room for everyone after a day of skiing.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We actually stayed in 2010 but VRBO wouldn't let me go back that far. The house is perfect for a group or large family vacation. We brought 4 couples and a dog with us and had plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen was very nice and we did most of our own cooking while we were there. Most of us skied at Monarch each day (20-30 min drive) but some stayed in town to rest a few days and the location of the house is perfect. It's just a short drive to Salida's downtown area where you can find tons of shops, bars, and restaraunts. Hoping to stay again this year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We rented your house from Dec 26th to Jan 1 2011 and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. It is a beautiful home. We loved the layout. and it has been taken care of so well and is so clean. The location was great for us and the views were beautiful. And very reasonably priced. Everything about it was perfect for us. Also I have to comment on the little thing that were available for our use like oil, salt pepper paper towels and those things. That was also very helpful and makes the home feel even more loving. What a spot to vacation, so much to do and the house was perfect for my family! It was cozy, clean and had great views and easy access to everything. Loved sitting on the deck and BBQing. About the owner: This is our home away from home. We have been forced to relocate for work, and don't want to let our little piece of paradise go! We visit it monthly and hope to retire here! We would like to share it for others to enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose Salida:
Salida is in the heart of the Rockies and has so many small town parades, county fairs, art walks and is an outdoor mecca of entertainment! June is ArtWalk and FIBARK, July is Brewfest, 4th of July fireworks!
