Believe it or not, you can turn that dream into a reality in our “sweet” mountain cabin which we have appropriately named, Cabin Sweet Cabin.
Cabin Sweet Cabin features:

* Fully-equipped kitchen with oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, & all the other amenities of home
* Wood-burning fireplace
* 1 king, 1 full, & 2 twin beds, plus a queen sleeper sofa & a fold-out futon (sleeps up to 10)
* A wall of windows so you can enjoy sunsets and the mountain view from almost anywhere in the cabin!
Our cabin is located in a peaceful mountain community, characterized by narrow, winding, tree-lined roads and awesome mountain views. At the foot of our mountain is the scenic and pastoral New River and access to its many popular pastimes, including fishing, tubing, swimming, and kayaking. The top of the mountain, at an elevation of 3500 feet above sea level, is where Cabin Sweet Cabin is located. If your intent is to escape the summer heat, at our elevation it’s typically at least 10 degrees cooler than it is at lower elevations in North Carolina—plus, there is almost always a gentle summer breeze. If its winter and you want to see snow—it snows more and stays longer at our cooler temperatures than it does at lower elevations. We are located about halfway between the vibrant college mountain town of Boone and West Jefferson, a small town where traditional mountain life and a flourishing artists’ community can be simultaneously experienced.
Attractions near our cabin include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Mount Jefferson State Park, New River State Park, Blowing Rock, and…of course, the Tweetsie Railroad! Start the day hiking the Cascade Falls Trail on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway (or hike to our own Fleetwood Falls—the trail starts at the bottom of the mountain!). After your hike, go for a drive along the Parkway, enjoying the many scenic vistas that characterize America’s most beautiful road. Continue on to Blowing Rock and shop at the many unique shops in this quaint mountain town. Next on the agenda, journey to Grandfather Mountain and a harrowing—but awe-inspiring--walk on the Swinging Bridge and a visit to the natural animal habitat. If there’s time still left in the day (if not, there’s always tomorrow!) visit Thomas the Tank Engine at Tweetsie Railroad or go kayaking or tubing on the New River or bicycling on the flat, scenic road that runs next to it. If by now your feet are tired, head on back to Cabin Sweet Cabin for some soothing relaxation in our hot tub!
Although there’s much to do in our area, don’t forget to save time for simply savoring the peace and beauty of the mountains and of our mountain home. When we bought Cabin Sweet Cabin a little over a year ago, we hoped it would become a place where couples and families could escape the hectic nature of daily life and reconnect with each other. We are pleased to report that this is exactly the experience that many of our guests describe in the cabin guest book. * 2 night minimum; Year round-Roads cleared of snow in winter
* Reservation deposit: 25%, remainder of rental amount due 30 days before rental
* Damage deposit: $200 (refundable); VISA/MC/AMEX/Discover, Paypal, checks
