Lovely week in Rome

My husband, two teenage daughters and I spent a wonderful week in Rome staying in this apartment. One thing I didn't realize was that while the apartment has two bedrooms, it doesn't have a living room, which was unfortunate. It does, however, have two bathrooms, a nice kitchen with adjacent table and chairs, and a huge terrace. There are many windows, and we were fortunate that even at the beginning of November we could enjoy the outdoor space. We really enjoyed several restaurants in the neighborhood, which were frequented by locals and far better than our dining experiences in the center of Rome. Twice we walked from the apartment to the center of Rome, which took time but was enjoyable with much to look at and see. Walking to the metro is about 15 minutes, but we discovered that a bus stopped on the street that went through the old city to the Coliseum. That became our favorite way to get to and from the center--about 20 minutes ride and we could enjoy the scenery and city sights. Although the neighborhood is not historic, there are local shops and businesses to explore. There are a few small groceries nearby, an excellent carryout pizza place, and the hosts provided more juice, milk, bread, and croissants than we could eat.

We only had a day and a half in Rome and this was the perfect location for us to see all we could in the short time we had. Flavio was so helpful and offered ideas for getting around. It was also nice for him to arrange taxi service for us to the airport the day we left. We packed a lot in that time and when we came back to the apartment in the evening it was so relaxing, clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and with a 22 and 26 year old it was nice to have two bathrooms! The breakfast snacks were a nice addition in the morning. We will definitely want to stay here again when returning to Rome!

Dear Flavio & Antonella, The six Canadazie are back on their own terra firma for just over a week only having the memories of Aurelio at viale Angelico 163 that we spent in your spectacular Roma! We thank you for all your insight and information that you shared with us on the interesting places and restaurants to dine in the local neighbourhood. (Hostaria “Da Edmonda” had gone twice, third time not open gone too early in the day, the café at corner for coffee, the supermarket on the next block, gelato on V. Vodice -closed on Mondays - next visit & the bakery across the street for the best pizza!). We missed the shopping around Piazza Bainsizza – another next time! However, we did get the shopping in on Sunday morning at the local street market in Trastavere, what an experience. Just a great area that your apartment is located in! Flavio & Antonella, the stay at Aurelio was very comfortable and unforgettable for all of us, especially with that spectacular roof top view of the city of Roma looking towards Basilica di San Pietro. Either it be early morning, midday, afternoon or late at night the panoramic view from your wrap around terrace accommodations is just fabulous! It was wonderful to enjoy that Roma breeze, with a glass of vino roso or cafe and that brilliant city view at anytime of day. Antonella, thank you for taking the time to explain about your family history, the history of Trastavere, Prati and about some of the local history of the area. Sharing this information with us during our stay made it so much easier and interesting for us. This has made Roma such a memorable and pleasant trip for us, which we will always remember and cherish! Grazie mille, molto grazie for your hospitality, accommodations, the view, food, wine, the warmth of the Roman people and beauty of the city Roma. Bellissimo! Ciao from, Adam, Andre, Marissa, Denise, Lesia, and Steven PS We hope to return very soon to Italia, visit Roma again, and stay once again at one of the Michelangelo Penthouse apartments!

We stayed 4 nights in June in this apartment and feel it was a great value. It is in a quiet residential area near the Vatican, but close to bus and Metro service. There were six of us, 2 couples each with teenage daughters. It was roomy enough for all of us and the terrace was the best part - beautiful view of St. Peter's basilica. I would recommend this apartment over a hotel.

We stayed at this penthouse last month; four adults and one child. The apartment was far beyond anything I imagined. I must admit I was a bit leery at first; however, once I met Antoinella and Flavio and they opened the doors to the gorgeous penthouse, I was so confident we made the right choice with the apartment. It was absolutely gorgeous and clean. The terrace wraps around the entire penthouse and is just so beautiful. Antoinella and Flavio were so nice and helpful. Each night at 6 pm, Antoinella would bring us croissants, juices, coffee and Nutella for the following mornings breakfast. I was so sad to leave the apartment, I truly fell in love with it. The walk isn't too bad to the Vatican; approximately 20 minutes. The bus stop is right outside the apartment and a straight shot to the Vatican; approximately 10 minutes. We immensely enjoyed our stay and I will definitely stay at the Michaelangelo penthouse on my next trip to Rome. Enjoy.
Owner response:thank you for your reminder of us we are very grateful for it, you are welcome for next time.

My girlfriends and I stayed at Michelangelo Penthouse. We had a wonderful time. Very nice clean apaartment, with a balcony you could die for. We spent most of our time eating and drinking wine on the balcony while looking at the dome of St. Peter's. The landlords were wonderful, and assisted us in everything we needed. Cd player to play Andre Boccelli as well as an alarm clock so we could take an early morning train to Florence. Very convient to St. Peters, trattorias, wine stores, supermarcato, and pizzeria. Also the pastry and cappicino shop down the block where we stopped every morning, before touring. Could catch a bus right outside door of apartment, to Metro down street. When we come to Rome again, I would stay there if there is availability. Loved Flavio and especially his Mom- Antonello.
Owner response:i'm very lucky to have a guest like you.... we will wait...

We stayed 4 days in May 2011 in this apartment and had a great time. Flavio was waiting in front of the apartment for us, he showed us the rooms and we got a tourist guide and a city map and also a lot of information from him. The apartment was very nice and clean with a big terrace all around and a beautiful view of St. Peter's Basilica. The walk to the Vatican area took about 20 minutes. The hosts, Flavio and Antonella, were very friendly and helpfully. Every evening Antonella brought us toasts, croissants, juices, coffee, tea, milk, sugar, Nutella, and marmelade for the breakfast following morning. The bathrooms were equipped with 3 towels for each person and also with a hair dryer in every bathroom. Checkout is at 9 am, but we were able to let our suitcases in the apartment till our driver picked up us to the airport in the afternoon. Flavio and Antonella, thanks for the great time in your recommendable apartment.
Owner response:thank you for your appreciate , we are read your feedback with great pleasure
