Nice house, but no direct beach access

The interior of the house is very well designed, with three king bedrooms, all with private baths. The room downstairs, however, is not usable as a bedroom or familiy room as it is mainly for the storage of pool toys, and has a stale smell to it. The pictures of the house from the beach are deceiving, however, as you cannot access the beach from the house property. The water comes all the way to the rocks other than the 1 hour of the lowest tide of the day, and you cannot use the rocks for access to the beach. A young and inshape person could walk to the cement wall and over to the neighbors' property, and use those wood stairs, then jump three feet to the sand. My mother who is 78 years old had to walk out the front door of the home, walk down the driveway, then walk the street to the third house, then use that property's driveway, back yard and cement stairs to the beach. I had specifically asked about access to the beach for my mother and was told the immediate neighbor stairs would be good. This was not the case, and it was a shame that this was not fairly represented by the owner during our correspondence. We paid for 5 adults, but as one adult could not enjoy direct beach access, I had hoped (and asked) Tom would return more than just the deposit. He did not, and never apologized for mis-representing beach access for an elderly person. Many ants were in the kitchen, but that may just be the island way.
Owner response:INETERESTING REVIEW. THE ROOM DOWNSTAIRS HAS A FULL BATH AND SHOWER AND OPENS TO THE DECK AND POOL. HAS FLOATING CHAIRS AND TUBES FOR PEOPLE TO USE IN WATER AND POOL. ALSO HAS COUCH AND CHAIRS AND A QUEEN SIZE ROLL OUT. I AM 64 AND HAVE NO PROBLEM WALKING OVER TO THE STAIRS ON THE 2 AND A HALF FT WIDE BREAKWALL. NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCESS THE BEACH IS BOVINE SCATOLOGY. THE REASON THE STEP DOWN WAS HIGHER THAN NORMAL WAS CAUSED BY NATURE TAKING AWAY SOME OF THE SAND. IT WILL ALSO SEND IT BACK AND I CAN'T CONTROL THAT, IT WAS THERE WHEN I LEFT IN MAY. I WAS JUST THER TO CHECK OUT THE STORM DAMAGE FROM IRENE AND I DID SEE A FEW TINY ANTS, BUT NOT AS MANY AS WEEK HAVE AT OUR SUMMER HOME IN WISC. THERE ARE TWO KEYS ON THE RING WHEN YOU GET THERE FOR THE UP AND DOWNSTAIRS. DIANNE SAID SHE COULD NOT OPEN THE DOWNSTAIRS WHEN SEE GOT THERE SO I HAD ROSEMARY OUR CARETAKER GO THE HOUSE AND SHOW HER WHICH OF THE TWO KEYS OPEN THE DOWNSTAIRS. THE HOUSE IS ON THE BEACH, IRENE JUST DESTROYED SOME OF MY POOL TILES AND PUT SEA WATER INTO THE POOL. THE PHOTOS ARE ACCURATE, YOU CAN SEE MY "INSHAPE" FOUR YEAR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER IS THE ONE WHO WALKED THE TOP OF THE BREAKWALL TO THE STEPS AND IS PICTURED IN THE PHOTO.

This beautiful home exceeded our expectations. It is ideally laid out for privacy and comfort. The views and outdoor living space are incrediable. Everything was perfect begining with the Driver, recommended by the owner, waiting at the airport. When we arrived at the house, our rented golf cart was waiting at the front door. Shortly afterward our rented boat arrived at the homes private dock. The caretakers were helpful without being intrusive. Shared fresh conch with us and we shared our conch salad with them. The pool, spa, beach....awwww!!! The generator was especially helpful since the island had sporatic power outages. We've cruised the Bahamas for years and decided that Treasure Cay and the Abacos are our favorites. Very quite, private and beautiful. Easy to island hop. Planning our return trip hopefully to Seahouse. The owner and the people that he recommended to us were gracious and helpful. Best, most relaxing vacation ever!!!

My family rented this beautiful home in late June 2010. The home is incredible and perfectly situated on the sandy beach with a clear blue sea. This beautiful home has everything a person would need to have an enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable vacation. The sea is incredible for swimming but so is the swimming pool at the house. Treasure Cay itself is a beautiful island with much less tourism than Nassau and other such Bahama islands. My family enjoyed this very much; it was like having our own beach/sea. And the people in Treasure Cay are very nice. The homeowner (Tom) also has great people looking after the home as well (they are there if you have any issues) and also has good leads on things to do (snorkeling, site seeing, ect). We rate this vacation experience an 11 out of 10 and plan to come back. Actually; I am ready to bring the family back now. Larry Black

Wow!!!! What a beautiful home. We really enjoyed our trip. The house was perfect, the weather was great. We used the 3 bedrooms upstairs. The generator was a huge help. The power was up and down on the island. Alma and Mary the caretakers of the home are wonderful. This is a yearly trip for my friends and I. We will certainly schedule our trip next year for Treasure Cay and Sea Houseā¦. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home. It was simply the best. Mary L .Smith Louisville, KY

Loved the house...a perfect place for a quiet get-a-way. We rented in April 2010 and the weather was perfect...70's everyday. The house is spacious and maintained. The couple that maintains the house stopped by to see if we had any questions. They were very helpful and friendly. The pool, jacuzzi, and beach were PERFECT. Treasure Cay is very quiet. Only a few restaurants, we were the only ones in one on a Tuesday night. 30 minutes away is Marsh Harbour which had a variety of restaurants and more activity. The house is fairly new, and when we were ther only had 3 badrooms, there was an additional room downstairs by itslef that is more of a family/playroom with a bathroom. It did have pull-out couches. We only needed 3 bedrooms, so the house was perfect for us. So much better thana hotel!
