A few days in Boston

Guest: Michael (Melbourne, Australia)
Date of Stay: 04/30/12 Review Submitted: 05/14/12

Ben's attention to detail in equiping the apartment with every convenience and tourist resource you need as a visitor to Boston is outstanding. Similarly, the ease of communicating with Ben by email prior to arrival generated confidence that we were in for a pleasant stay, and that proved true. Others have pointed out the convenience of the location and the general features of the apartment and I fully endorse those. There was only one mildly negative in our trip that caused me to drop from excellent, the noise. The windows are double glazed, but there was some repair underway on the glazing around an a/c unit in the second bedroom during our visit and this let street noise in. We had flown in from Asia so we needed all the help we could get to sleep through the night. Seeing how well maintained and organised everything else is, I'd be surprised if Ben has not already fixed this. If we return to Boston, I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to any other families looking for a convenient, well equiped apartment.

Amazing Boston Weekend

Guest: iamjoyful (Philadelphia, PA)
Date of Stay: 04/27/12 Review Submitted: 05/01/12

I had a great stay with my girlfriends in this rental. Everything was spic and span when we arrived and the home just felt so cozy that my friends didn't even want to leave. The location was great as well and there was easy access to restaurants and bars. It was relatively easy to hail a cab at the intersection when we wanted to go further away. I'd never spent much time in South End before and seriously fell in love this weekend! Ben was really easy to work with and very responsive. I would highly recommend this rental unit to anyone visiting Boston.

We rented this condo for 4 of us traveling to Boston for the Boston Marathon (Inferno) 2012! The condo has everything it advertised and more - all the comforts of home and in a very convenient location.. Boston got unpredictably HOT during our stay (and for the marathon, boooo) but before it could become a problem Ben had the air units installed for our comfort.. We didn't even ask - he just offered to have them put in! THANKS BEN - you made my post marathon comfort so much better in that heat... I would definitely recommend this condo if you are looking for an alternative to the hotel scene and all the benefits/feel of living in Boston.. We will be back to redeem my time in the Marathon and will look to rent this condo again...

Great place to stay!

Guest: Debbie (Virginia)
Date of Stay: 04/02/12 Review Submitted: 04/11/12

My husband and I and our 3 kids really enjoyed our 5-night stay in this condo/brownstone. Clean place, comfortable beds, new bathroom shower/tile, full kitchen with appliances, working computer w/internet access...couldn't ask for more. I especially liked the down comforters with clean (and washable) duvet covers, not the gross bedspreads that you usually find in rentals. Also, the information regarding transportation, restaurants, and Boston landmarks provided in the binders were great and made everything a little more convenient. Kids loved the xbox during downtime. We would have no reservation about renting this place again.

Owner response:Thanks for the kind words., and glad you had a good stay. Please do come back for another visit.

Awesome place! Great location!

Guest: Domino (SF Bay Area)
Date of Stay: 03/23/12 Review Submitted: 04/03/12

This condo was perfect for us. It is in a great neighborhood near the shops and restaurants of Tremont St. and an easy walk to Newbury St. The place is very well kept, with lovely and modern amenities (unusual in Boston some times). It was very clean and accommodating from the plush cotton towels to a wonderful bottle of wine waiting for us. All things have been thought of for the discerning traveler and I would not for a second hesitate in recommending this place for a corporate retreat or a family visiting some colleges or loved ones. We had a blast, enjoyed Ben's recommendations for the local restaurants and things to do. And Ben was completely available during the rental process and when we had whatever questions. I hope we get a reason to come back soon, and will no doubt try and book this great place again. It was a professional level experience. Thanks again so much!

Owner response:Glad the condo worked for you guys. Hope we'll see you again soon!

Excellent property!!

Date of Stay: 03/11/12 Review Submitted: 03/15/12

We rented this property for 3 nights. Wonderful apartment, nice furnishings, and obviously attentive owners. The gift basket was a great touch, and the information binder was really useful. On a busy street, but with the double windows, its VERY quiet. Can't say enough about it. The location is in the South End, a bit of a jaunt to downtown but dont let this stop you! Lots of nearby restaurants (definitely try Teranga, place just below the apt.), budget to high end. Transit is easily accessed right outside the door to major areas. All in all, one of the best places I've stayed and I will use it again. Rob

Owner response:Thanks for staying with us, and glad you tried Teranga! Hope you'll come visit again soon. -Ben

Aahh--we needed this "urban fix!!!" We only live about 30 minutes from Boston, but every now and then we just need to escape the "burbs." Your place was perfect! Clean, cozy, warm and w/ everything we needed for our getaway. Easy walk to all the wonderful restaurants in the South End--Butcher Shop, Aquitaine, Hammersleys, etc. Toro down the block was awesome. I'm still craving their roasted corn. Thank you for sharing your humble abode.

The apartment is exactly as we were expecting, I could say even more... Nice, clean, quiet, warm, full of useful stuff and situated in a very nice neighborhood. From the apartment you can easily walk to downtown or, if you were lazy, it is very close to metroand bus stop is just beside the entrance door. So, we enjoied it a lot, we were in Boston for work, so it was nice coming home and... feeling at home. And Thanks to Ben for its patience and for willingness! Hope to come back to Boston, I will not hesitate, I'll definetely come back to Ben's apartment! Thanks again!

We stayed here for our annual girl's trip and there were not any surprises (which was nice). The location is convenient and economical. We took cabs and the Silver Line to our destinations which was easy. There was a book with all the necessary details. It was perfect for us all to be together rather than split up in two hotel rooms. While we did not use them, there were even DVDs to watch a movie. We ate at the tapas restaurant one block down and at Mike's Diner for breakfast. It was nice to have places nearby. We felt very comfortable there and had a lovely time!

We used this place as a base to explore the city on an annual baseball trip -- and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice condo in a great location. Minutes to the airport, minutes to Boston Common and all Boston amenities -- it's safe, clean, comfortable and located in a great neighborhood. Close also to some great restaurants and bars! We'll stay here again when it's time for the next Sox game.

The apartment was exactly as described and very convenient. The bus to down town was a block from the doorstep and the subway stop was a few blocks walk. Along the way there were a wide variety of restaurants - many with outdoor seating to enjoy the lovely August weather in Boston. Ben had maps, guidebooks and even metro cards waiting for us that made it easy to get starting on our sightseeing. The welcome basket and Sam Adams cooling in the frig were nice surprises! We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and very convenient. Thanks for sharing you lovely apartment!

We really enjoyed staying in this condo and it was a great base for exploring the South End. Our only complaint was the mattress in the master bedroom was not very comfortable--wish they would invest in a good mattress because then we would definitely come back!

Owner response:Thanks for your feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Boston. I am surprised to hear about the mattress--we just bought it a few months ago, and not a single complaint from anyone else! Bearing in mind varying tastes and preferences for hardness/softness of beds, we opted for a medium firmness for the mattress. Hope you'll come visit again! -Ben/Anh

Just spent 4 excellent days staying in this apartment with 3 other colleagues - vastly more enjoyable than booking into a hotel. Great location, easy to get downtown quickly, and we even walked to the convention center (on Summer Street) each day, which was a perfectly pleasant walk. Close to nice restaurants as well ('Stella' was particularly good). Would happily rent again when next in Boston - many thanks!

My husband and I rented this property with another couple and a friend while in town for the Boston Marathon. Wow- can't tell you how great it was to have a cozy apartment and a kitchen!! As soon as we got into town on Friday, we went for a quick run and then over to Trader Joe's to stock up on groceries. The Prop Manager Ahn stopped by at the same time as the gang was leaving and offered to take everyone to TJ's!! SO sweet!! Both Ahn and Ben were easy to get ahold of and work with. Responsive and really nice. The condo was everything we hoped it to be. Loved that there was a computer and printer set up in the living room with net access. And the place was super quiet. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone visiting Boston! It's not located super close to the T, but if you don't mind walking a bit, you'll find it to be absolutely PERFECT!!!!!

Nor'easter Experience

Guest: K2 (Evergreen, CO)
Date of Stay: 03/31/11 Review Submitted: 04/07/11

Despite experiencing a "mild" Nor'easter in Boston the first weekend in April, my family of five enjoyed the Pied a Terre condo very much. It is exactly as Ben describes it, the pictures paint a very accurate picture. Very comfortable place in a nice location in the SouthEnd, Kudos to Ben/Anh as their welcome touches and tips for getting around the city were spot on and much appreciated. Special award to the owners for "The Most Useful Shower Curtain" -- will have to be an insider's perspective until you experience it for yourself. Tastefully decorated, comfortable, nice touches throughout the condo. Convenient to many ammenities. One of our best VRBO experiences by far. We will definitely be return customers -- highly recommended.

Owner response:We're so glad you made the visit, despite the late-season Nor'easter. As they say around here, we "earn" our summers New England, and snowstorms in March (or April) are not at all unheard of. Hope the fireplace came in handy! And yes, the shower curtain is a favorite--though a bit cumbersome to travel with. Hope to see you soon! -Ben and Anh

Myself, a sister and our parents stayed here in November and were so relieved to find the apartment was exactly as everything described in the advert - which is sometimes not the case. The apartment was immaculately clean and tidy. Ben and Anh had also left lots of information on getting around and what to do, where to eat etc. This really helped. It was a great location in terms of being enough out of the hustle and bustle of the city but close to the public transport and a shop and supermarket which was also very good. I would definitely return here and would recommend the apartment to friends and family.

We had a fabulous five night stay in this Condo. It was cozy, clean and in an excellent location. We were able to step out of the door and onto a bus to take us to where we wanted to go or enjoyed walking through the neighbourhood. We particularly appreciated the Charlie cards which meant we didn't have to worry about change or spend ages working out how the transport system worked. There is a great choice of restaurants right outside the door and we ate well in all of them! Ben was also very helpful and responded to questions immediately. An excellent experience and we would definetely stay here again should we visit Boston again.

Date of Stay: 09/02/10 Review Submitted: 09/20/10

A group of us rented the condo for a wedding over labor day weekend, and we had a great experience. The condo comfortably fit 6 of us, with 2 in each bedroom and two on the futon in the living room. It was super clean and all the directions for getting into the apartment were easy, which was nice when getting in after a long flight. Ben was very nice and easy to work with, and the complimentary snacks were a sweet surprise! There is also a booklet of information for tourists on the kitchen table that looked full of info and very useful. It's a bit of a walk to the T, but there is a bus stop right outside the apartment, which was super convenient, so transportation was easy. For runners, it's about a mile to the river, which I highly recommend for a scenic run. Overall, the experience was amazing and my friends and I couldn't have asked for a better situation, making the weekend all the more special. Thanks Ben!

We had the pleasure of staying here this past Aug for our family vacation to Boston. The locaton is excellent for transportation and a nice walk to Fenway and Newbury street if you are up for it. The property was very clean and very well maintained. There were no surprises. The binder containing all of the key pieces of information on the area was very helpful. Ben was fantastic from the time that I sent the inquiry about availability through to the end of our stay in answering our questions. The gift basket was a very nice touch upon our arrival after a long drive from Toronto. Wireless internet was a nice bonus given that we had 4 teenagers in tow who wanted to keep in touch with their friends. I would definately recommend this accomodation to friends/family.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this condo! Public transportation options are easily accessible to all of the major attractions and numerous restaurants are nearby. A grocery store is also within walking distance. The people in this neighborhood (and all throughout Boston for that matter) could not have been nicer and more helpful. By the end of our week in this condo, we felt like a part of the community! We enjoyed our stay here because it did not have the feel of a tourist-trap area and really gave us a true feel for life in the city of Boston. We especially appreciated all of the items for our children such as the bath toys, pack & play, highchair and treat basket. Everything was clean, the owner was very attentive to our needs, was incredibly fast to respond to questions and flexible with our schedule. We also appreciated the books with all of the directions and advice on attractions and restaurants. The neighborhood restaurants we especially enjoyed were Stella (ate there twice), Tremont 647 (they were incredibly nice to our kids), Flour, the ice-cream shop and Mike's Diner. I would recommend staying at this condo as part of your overall experience for falling in the love with the city of Boston!

A perfect getaway for the four of us (2 couples)...the condo is in an ideal location, an easy trip from Logain Airport and an easy walk to public transportation. There is an very nice supermarket (Foodies) about a 10 minute walk away, as well as numerous restaurants within a 3 block radius. The unit itself is spotless, well appointed (WiFi, Cable TV), a full kitchen with dishwasher, and lots of very helpful information. The owner was gracious and accomodating, helping us plan a perfect vacation. This was a much better deal than a hotel, and much much more comfortable. We definitely recommend!!

Incredible Place in Boston's Historic District

Some friends and I were in Boston for a convention, and needed a place relatively close to the Hynes Convention Center. This place, located in the historic district, was nothing short of incredible. Conveniently located next to a 24 hour CVS and various restaurants, and right on lines for different public transportation options should you need them. The owner was quick to respond, and extremely helpful. Whenever I had a question, there was always a quick response, and their knowledge of the area came in handy as well. The place was clean, quiet, the internet was quick, and the gift basket was great. Owner went out of his way to make sure we felt at home, which was very much appreciated. Definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Boston. One of the most professional and well kept places I've seen, and will certainly be my first choice should I return to Boston in the future!

We have enjoyed our visit to Boston. The apartment was perfect for our family, and we enjoyed the extras for our 2 year old. Couldn't have made it without the highchari, pack and play, and the puzzles. Thanks so much for everything!

AWESOME place. I don't normally write reviews good or bad but felt this place far exceeded our expectations and I wanted to share our great experience for others. Every detail thought of by owners. Impeccably clean and well appointed. Loaded with extras. Great location, nearby everything with good food close too! Excellent cafe "Flour" with amazing sticky buns 2 blocks away. We walked to Prudential center and all the historic sites. Owners are very helpful, treated us like family. Not the typical hotel feel you get from staying in the city.

I rented the apt for my family, who recently visited me in Boston. The apt. was great, very comfortable, nicely updated and well kept. Everything was very clean and my family found it extremely welcoming! It was overall a great experience. They did not have any negative comment. My parents actually said that they are not going to stay at hotels anymore, but will always go for rental places! The location, even though not super-central, was also very good and all the points of interest were easily accessible. Plenty of restaurant around and few easily reachable grocery stores as well. The owner was very friendly, trustworthy and accomodating. I am recommending it 100%!

Your unit worked out very well for us and we appreciated all of the personal touches, like the coffee, treat basket, water pitcher, tour books and maps, and recommendations for restaurants and touring. You run a first class operation! Thanks for everything; we absolutely loved Boston!

Four of us rented the condo and found it to be comfortable, tastefully decorated, and well appointed. It is only 20 minutes walking distance away from downtown Boston, and has all that you may need within a block or two. It is in the area where the best restaurants of Boston are (Aquitaine, the Butcher Shop) on Tremont street. We had a wonderful time and we highly recommended.

We were really pleased we chose to stay here... The cost was about the same as the hotel we were considering... but that was just one room! Here we had lots of space which was far more relaxing and convenient with children. It's really well equipped, well located with local restaurants and great transport links - and the owner is really helpful!
