Our log home is situated on 10 wooded acres between Frankfort and Beulah, two amazing 'up north' small towns in Northern Lower Michigan. The home is built on a ridge with a gorgeous view of Crystal Lake, a fabulously crystal clear lake boasting public beaches and water sports of any kind. The awesome sandy Lake Michigan Beach is a short 1 1/2 mile drive into Frankfort, where kids can play and swim, there are miles of beach to walk and a pier to watch the sunset from.
The home is cozy and family friendly, with two enclosed bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed. The master bedroom has a bathroom attached with a separate shower and jetted tub. The second bathroom also has a stand up shower, which is convenient when two families are there. The home has an open kitchen/great room area with hardwood floors, a gorgeous stone (gas) fireplace with large windows and two sets of sliding glass doors that offer access to the wraparound deck and very pleasant views of lush green woods and crystal blue water.
The home also offers a 600 square foot loft with comfy furniture, a TV, and two Queen sized beds. It is a nice room for the kids to hang out in. The kitchen is modern and efficient and pleasing to the eye with hickory cabinets and all white appliances.

Year Purchased: 1997
About the owner: My husband and I built this home for ourselves in 1997 when we lived in the area. Circumstances since then have caused us to move elsewhere, but we still enjoy the home with our family as often as possible. We live about 3 hours south east in downstate Michigan. We love the relaxing atmosphere and the quiet feeling of being surrounded by woods when we are up at the 'Log House' as we call it. The house is perfect for entertaining or just being cozy. It is a year round home, so in the summer we enjoy boating on Crystal Lake , beaching it at Lake Michigan, biking on the paved trails, grilling out, s'mores over the campfire, going downtown for ice cream ... and in the winter we love to sled, ski or snow tube at Crystal Mountain, and hang out around the fireplace with a book and hot chocolate in the evenings.
