>>> More about the city:
Close to NAVIGLI. Navigli area is the most visited by Milan residents, due to the presence of numerous restaurants, fashionable bars and ethnic clubs. Some decades ago the Navigli circle, which was constituted by small navigable channels that are almost disappearing, encompassed the historic city centre of Milan. Nowadays the ancient handicraft shops of Milan, which date from the beginning of the century have been replaced by modern shops and restaurants, turning the area into one of shopping, design and clubs.
You can also visit the Sanctuary of Santa Rita da Cascia and the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which is an excellent example of renaissance architecture. There are good connections to the underground, bus and tramway that allow you to reach the main tourist attractions of the city. Lombardy (Latin: Langobardia, Italian: Lombardia, Western Lombard: Lumbardìa, Eastern Lombard: Lombardia) is one of the 20 regions of Italy.
The capital is Milan. One-sixth of Italy's population lives in Lombardy and about one fourth of Italy's GDP is produced in this region. The languages are Italian, Western Lombard and Eastern Lombard. The primary religion is Catholic, of Ambrosian rite or Roman rite. Milan (Italian: Milano; Western Lombard: Milan (listen)) is one of the largest cities in Italy, located in the plains of Lombardy. The municipality (Comune di Milano) has a population of 1.3 million.
The Milan metropolitan area, depending on the specific definition, has a population ranging from 2.9 to 7.4 million. The municipal border covers a relatively small area (about one-eighth of that of Rome) because of the historical development of high density centres in agriculturally rich Lombardy. Milan is renowned as one of the world capitals of design and fashion[2]. The English word milliner is derived from the name of the city.
The Lombard metropolis is famous for its fashion houses and shops (such as along via Montenapoleone) and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Duomo (reputed to be the world's oldest shopping mall). The city hosted the World Exposition in 1906 and will host the Universal Expo in 2015. Inhabitants of Milan are referred to as "Milanese" (Italian: Milanesi or informally Meneghini or Ambrosiani).
The Olona river, the Lambro river and the Seveso creek run through Milan. Olona and Seveso run mostly underground. Milan is one of the major artistic centres of northern Italy. Its chief landmarks include: * The Duomo, the world's largest collection of marble statues with the widely visible golden Madonna statue on top of the spire, la Madunina (little Madonna), the symbol of Milan. * Teatro alla Scala.
Milan is also one of the most important centres in the world for Opera lirica, with his famous Teatro alla Scala (La Scala). * The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a large, covered arcade linking the Duomo's piazza with the Teatro alla Scala. * The Castello Sforzesco * The Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio * The Palaeo-Christian Basilica of San Lorenzo * The Biblioteca Ambrosiana, containing drawings and notebooks by Leonardo da Vinci among its vast holdings of books, manuscripts, and drawings, and is one of the main repositories of European culture.
The city is also the home of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. * The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which houses one of the most famous paintings of Leonardo da Vinci, The Last Supper (L'ultima cena or Il cenacolo). * The church of Santa Maria presso San Satiro, with a famous trompe l'oeil traditionally ascribed to Bramante * The Cimitero Monumentale di Milano. * The Pinacoteca di Brera, Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Poldi Pezzoli, the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum and the Musei del Castello galleries, which host a great number of pictorial masterpieces.

The flat was clean and comfortable, as described. Area nice and quiet. Some difficulty with latches on doors of bathroom and bedroom. Contact person was very helpful when the power went off. We were able to get around the city by public transit and walking to the local supermarket. Very good value. We would recomment this flat.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed the apartment and its amenities. Especially grateful to Ghapios for going out of his way to get us the keys earlier than anticipated. The location is within walking distance of a supermarket, a few steps away from a restaurant, and has on street parking readily available. The air conditioning and Internet access worked really well. The elevator made it easy to get luggage to and from the apartment. An all around good experience.
Owner response:Mr. Nilo it was a pleasure having you and your wife. Welcome again.

Thank you for an absolutely wonderful few days. The apartment is even better than described on website, and I am very fussy! It was also really good staying a little way out of the main tourist area- and yet close enough to public transport to be able to be in the middle of everything within minutes. And to have the owners available and willing to help with anything, is a real plus. We have friends travelling to Milan next year, and this apartment is definitely one I am recommending!!
Owner response:Wonderful people from Australia :) welcome again

Our stay at the Sympatico apartment was great. Apartment was very conveniently located just 3 miles away from the center. Beneath the apartment 200 year old ceramic shop is located, which was a beauty on it's own - a must see! Overall it was clean, modern and we would definitely rent it again and recommend it to all of our friends.
Owner response:Great and nice people. Welcome againg :)

We were traveling with 2 kids of 1 and 8 years old. The apartment is pretty large, comfortable, in a modern building. No noise outside. Very well equipped. A person who met us - Laura - was very nice and helpful! We traveled by car so there was a lot of place for free parking. The apartment had a very good heating system. All the equipment worked perfect. 2nd floor with elevator - very comfortable to get to the apartment with a baby stroller. A baby cot was provided especially for us - it was soooo nice! If we ever come back to Milan, we'll definitely stay here again!!!
Owner response:Great people from Russia

Very satisfied with our choice and 2 week stay in this apartment, The owner and administration personnel very helpfull. Excellent location with bus and train service to milan centre very close and supermarkets within walking distance. Well equipped with all necessities ( only exception was missing a toaster ) Wi-fi did not work well but when notified the admin provided a cable connection and after that no further problem. Overall very satisfied.

We stayed at the Walter Tobagi apartment for 3 nights in September 2010 and found it exactly as depicted in the owner's ad and it was spotlessly clean and equipped with all of the amenities one would need for their stay in the city. While it is a bit off of the beaten path and getting to the center of town is time-consuming, if we return to Milan, we would not hesitate to stay there again. Laura was most helpful and explained how everything worked. Thanks for making it available!
Owner response:Great person, leaved the aprtment really clean! impressed

We had a very pleasant comfortable stay in Ghapios' apartment. The place actually seemed more spacious than the photos. The apartment was clean and well maintained. Living room couches were extremely comfortable, as was the bed. The apartment is about a 25-minute walk from the closest subway station, although there is a bus (which we never took). So if you don't mind the walk (which we didn't) or getting the bus, this would be an excellent apartment for you--especially as the price cannot be beat.
Owner response:Great 2 twin girls :)

I stayed there for 3 nights over the course of the Milan Furniture Fair. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. It looked like it was renovated fairly recently and was fully equipped with all the basic amenities which were quite new. I did not have any complaints at all. The owner was friendly and helpful. Communication before arrival and during the stay was fine. I would stay there again when I'm back in Milan.
Owner response:Great visitor came to Milan from Hong Kong interested in Interior Design
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, families with young children.
