Our property LE RONDINI is located in the village of Poppiano.
Inside the estate, we offer a large VILLA called COLONICA, that has been recently restored originating a villa made of 9 bedrooms (of which 5 double-bedrooms and 4 rooms that can be used as triple-, twin- or double-bedrooms, 10 bathrooms (each one with shower, bidet, wc, basin; one is suitable for handicapped people), 2 large living-diningrooms each one with fireplaces (made of stones) and TVs-sat, and each one with an equipped with all you need to cook; in addition, there is 1 large kitchen fully equipped with a 4 ring stove, fridge, freezer, dish-washer, microwave, moka (Italian Coffe-Maker), toaster and kettle. Private heating. At guests' disposal there are: a private outdoor space in the garden/park, shaded and equipped with tables and chairs in order to relax or organize dinners or barbecues "open-air"; private parking places; a laundry-room ; a swimmingpool 15x7,5 metres large; a foosbal. The rooms do not need air-conditiong because they are very fresh on Summer, due to the particular orientation/position of the house. However each bedroom is provided with a fan in order to refresh your days and nights.
On request, each morning we may offer to guests fresh bread and pastries. On request, we may cook for you typical Tuscan dinners at about 30-35 Euros per person, including water and wine. We produce our own extra-virgin olive oil and other homemade products. You are very welcome to join us to observe the olive and grape harvests in September, October and November, so that you may enjoy the real taste of Tuscany!
Enjoy at our villa the unique experience of a “GUIDED WINE AND OLIVE OIL TASTING” carried out by a CERTIFIED SOMMELIER and WINE CONNOISSEUR (who attended, among the best Italian and Tuscan Schools also the Wine Spectator School in New York)! Ask the reception for details and prices if you wish to enhance your “wine culture” while having a lot of fun !
We may also guide you to a private visit to the Montespertoli’s wine growers’ cooperative. A touristic guide/cicerone is also available upon request to tour the main Tuscan towns and cities. Pick-up and taxi service available as well upon request.
It is also possible to organize “Chianti Wine Tours” that may you give you also the chance to discover the Chianti region off from the most touristical tracks and make a true wine-excursion with visits to cellars and wine-tasting. A stop for lunch in a local trattoria on the route (a typical, informal restaurant) will top your experience (on high season we recommend to book the tours or ask for quotation and availability at least 20-30 days in advance)
For groups up to 32 persons we may also offer a smaller house suitable for up to 8 persons, called FIENILE, plus other rooms, few steps away from the COLONICA VILLA, contact us for details.

Our stay was fabulous! The owners were so hospitable and accomodating to our family. The villa was great! It was clean, new-like, beautiful view of Tuscany. Italy is wonderful! This villa is in a perfect location to Florence, Sienna and the Medieval Walled city and more. The views are breathtaking. The food cooked for us by the owners were terrific. We also enjoyed ourselves by the indoor fire place. The owners were extremely helpful! No crowds at this time. I would recommend this villa to friends and family.

Très beau logement dans un ancienne exploitation viticole et oléicole ( Olives). Très bon accueil en italien et en anglais, quelques mots en français de Paola la maman. Nicola n'est pas sans reste pour faire visiter la coopérative où il dépose son raisin après les vendanges. Paola est disponible pour des renseignements divers, tel les visites, les bons restaurants très proches. Les logements sont très propres et bien organisés, l'agencement est de bon goût. Bonne situation géographique pour visiter la Toscane et les grandes villes de cette région. Je vous recommande fortement cet agritusmo . Michel et Véronique

1. The hospitality was second to none! The Carafa family tried to help with what ever we needed. 2. The Villa was beautiful and well maintained. 3. The food that Paola prepared was great! 4. The pool was large and refreshing. 5. The location was perfect. Close to all the attractions but far enough away to enjoy true Tuscan living.6. The Carafa family will always have a special palace in our hearts! It was our 50th wedding anniversary. We had our family of 14 with us and Nicola, Paola, and Mario made it a very special occasion! Our stay at Podere Le Rondini was all that we expected and more. It was the most fabulous vacation we have had in years. The description on the internet was accurate with the property very clean and well maintained. The customer service was outstanding and would recommend this listing to anyone. The owner provided us with many attractions and we choose to do horseback riding in which he had us follow him because we would of never found it. It was spectacular! We rode through the olive trees and grape vinyards. My children loved it! They also provided for us 4 outstanding tuscan dinners at a great price. It was great because they served you and they did all the clean up. Their hospitality was fabulous and anytime you needed anything they were there to help in anyway that they could. In addition, they produce their own wine and olive oil. Their wine (Rose) and olive oil that they served at dinner was awesome. We purchased a good amount of the wine and olive oil and wished that we had bought more. They also sell a few other things (hand and shower gel) made of olive oil that was also wonderful. They also give you samples of several things that they sell in which will be in the area you rented. The views are breath taking and if you want to experience the fabulous vacation that we did, you should book now! The nice thing about this property too, is that it is very central to many things such as Pisa, Florence, Cinque Terre, Chianti and many awesome hill towns. Nicola, Paola and the rest of the family are awesome!

A Wonderful Stay -- and a Wonderful Way to Explore Tuscany!

Our family of five (mother, father, and three sons -- 21-24 years old) thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Podere Le Rondini. From waking in the morning with a gorgeous view of the rolling hills of Tuscany, to a quick swim in the pool after a day of touring, to late-night dinners and wonderful wines on the patio, it was a very memorable week. Nicola and his parents, Paola and Mario, are a wonderful help in suggesting places of interest in the region. The villa is a short drive from Florence, we also took day-trips to Siena, Volterra, Monteriggio, San Gimignano, Pisa, and Lucca -- as well as regularly visit Montespertoli for groceries and gelato! The Colonica villa was wonderful with its modern amenities, but its old world, relaxed feel. It was just what we needed in the middle of an on-the-go Italian vacation. We hope when we return Nicola will have been able to open his on-premises restaurant (I suspect it will have earned a great reputation and we'll eat there often!). And stated, Nicola made us feel very welcome: Early in our stay, one of our sons developed a nagging cold, and Nicola became our intermediary in working with the late-night pharmacist in procuring the medicine to help our son get back on his feet. Nicola also arranged a tour of one of the local wineries -- and attended with us to provide the proper introductions. His and Mario's recommendations for local wines (and to steer clear of most grappa...) opened our eyes to locally produced reds and whites that tasted great and were a great value. (We also look forward to tasting the wines that Podere Le Rondini will begin producing by the time we return, if the olive oil they produce is any indication!) We look forward to someday returning to Tuscany, and we would very much like to spend more time at Podere Le Rondini. Ciao!
