Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1989
I was a Commercial Fisherman and a Railroad Conductor, retired and moved back to my home town of Anacortes. I always liked the islands and especially Anacortes, because your on a island and don't have to take a ferry. I still long for the sea and feel blessed that I can live on this beautiful island. This was a fishing village and now it's more pleasure boaters and tourists, with a few fishing vessels thrown in. We love to share our wonderful place with guests, we've had people from all 50 states and 24 countries. It's a beautiful place to relax and unwind,
Why the Owner Chose Anacortes
I built the cabins for my grandchildren to come and visit, when they got older all their friend's parents wanted to rent it so we went into business and decided to share this beautiful spot.
The Unique Benefits of this Bed & Breakfast
The beautiful sunsets, big freighters & sailing sloops cruising by, also watching the Sea Hawks and Eagles, hiking trails, beach combing, biking.

We came upon this B&B one dreary Valentine's Day week-end in 2008. And we've been back many times for a short week-end, or a base stop for ferrying to the other islands when our out-of-town friends visit. It's far more valuable than a time-share since "Capt.Kidd" [owner Oggie] would sit down with us and spin some yarn of entertaining tales about the islands and the sea. Great summer bonus treats when one could use the grill and have a cook-out with our guests. Wonderful place to recreate and rejuvenate, or simply do nothing and rest, surrounded with nature's sights and sounds of the Pacific Northwest.

We have visited this property twice. The position is ideal as it is easily accessed from other tourist spots such as Olympic National Park and The North Cascades N.P. During our last stay we took a day trip via ferry to the San Juan Islands and another day, drove up to Mt. Baker. The sunset views from the backyard are unbeatable, but you can also take a short drive to Mt. Erie (which can include a great hike) or Rosario Beach or even downtown. The owners are extremely gracious in every aspect from comfort, food, conversation and information, sharing their stories and listening to yours. We always leave with a tear in our eyes and hope to return again and again.

The ship house in is a home away from home. It has the best view of the ocean and the islands in town. The sunsets are absolutely unbelievable! You truly feel a part of a sea captains dream in the nautical inspired rooms. I cannot wait to lay in the hammock again and listen to the ocean.
