Little and Great Walsingham lie only a mile apart by the River Stiffkey. Their names are confusing, for Little Walsingham is the larger of the two villages and has been a centre of pilgrimage since the 11th Century with both Catholic and Anglican shrines. Nearby the smaller village of Great Walsingham is set amidst rural countryside, providing both excellent walking and cycling. The sandy beach at Wells is approximately five miles away. Great Walsingham has a craft centre, with tea room, whilst Little Walsingham has a number of shops, including an award-winning farm shop, as well as pubs/restaurants.
Martyrs Way is an attractively furnished character cottage with a large secluded walled garden, situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of Little Walsingham. Within easy walking distance of the village centre and all its amenities the cottage is an ideal location for exploring the North Norfolk Coast and surrounding area.

My name is Thor Holt, I am originally from the Shetland Islands north of Scotland. The photo you see is my Wife, Daughter and I about to ride round Central Park NY, USA while visiting America recently (Spring 2009). We loved the US and found you guys so friendly and welcoming that we have decided to open up our vacation rental to try to give you all the same kind of great experience we had, after you have crossed the Atlantic to visit with us!
Why the Owner Chose Little Walsingham
This Vacation rental actually used to belong to my Grandmother and we as a family have always enjoyed vacations in Martyrs Way since the early 1970s. In 2007 we refurbished and upgraded, and decided to share it with other people as a Holiday Home. It is quite simply a place of peace and fun for us and we hope it will provide this for you also.

We love the peace and quiet, the time and space to think and reflect, unique room shapes and sizes with garden views. We also as a family enjoy getting together for sociable weekends with red wine and conversation till late!
