Welcome to 29B Pelican Point! This ocean front home is a spacious 2-story duplex on beautiful, private, Harbor Island. You'll have plenty of room to spread out with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a den, large combined living/dining area, and a spacious fully equipped kitchen....2000 square feet of interior living space plus a screened porch and an open deck on the ocean side, and a marsh-view covered deck on the street side! There is covered parking below for 2 vehicles, or your boat (19' maximum per Island security) and additional parking for 2 vehicles in the drive.
The front entry is through a covered marsh view porch, opening into a short hallway to the first floor living/dining area, kitchen, den, full bath, laundry room, and master bedroom with a private fully renovated bath featuring ceramic tile floors, new vanity, countertop, and fixtures. The master bedroom, with a queen sleigh bed and vintage furnishings, is on the ocean side with beautiful ocean views, and opens directly to the screened porch.
The inviting living area has a large sofa and a comfortable "chair & a half" with ottoman---perfect for curling up with a good book! When you've had enough sun, come inside and enjoy the 32" flat screen cable television, DVD and VHS players, DVD/VHS library, stereo radio/CD player and CD library. The fireplace makes this an ideal spot to cocoon in winter! The living area opens onto the screened porch where 2 lounge chairs and a ceiling fan invite you to lay back and relax....the stunning 180 degree ocean view from the new back deck will mesmerize you!
If you like to cook, you will love this well equipped kitchen with French provincial cabinets, newer appliances, undermount sink with Moen faucet, Kitchen Aid stand mixer, food processor, and granite countertops offering plenty of workspace. You can stand at the kitchen sink and look straight through the living/dining area to the screened porch, open deck to the dunes and ocean beyond.
Upstairs are two carpeted bedrooms, and a third full bath. The spacious guest bedroom has a beautiful king bed and dresser, and in the dormer alcove a comfy arm chair provides a nice private spot for reading or relaxing; there is a lovely marsh view from the window. The third bedroom, with two twin beds, is a perfect kids room with cable TV and a DVD player, puzzles, games and books. And the small sitting area in the dormer has a stunning ocean view! The third full bath is upstairs, off of the stairway landing between the bedrooms.
The Pelican Point duplexes are the southern most homes on Harbor Island....a single row of elevated duplex houses faces the ocean to the east, and expansive tidal marsh to the west. Private boardwalks, for Pelican Point owners and guests, are scattered among them and one is just steps away from your back deck. A 4-5 minute walk on the boardwalk will take you to the beach. Harbor Island offers abundant natural beauty with over two miles of private beach with gentle surf, dolphins and seabirds, and rolling sand dunes covered with sea oats and myrtle.
If you are lucky and the time is right you may even see protected sea turtle hatchlings headed for the ocean one night! All guests have access to the Harbor Island Beach & Racquet Club facilities: an Olympic sized pool overlooking the marshes of the Harbor River with fabulous sunset views, a kiddie pool, sand volleyball court, 1/2 court basketball, children's playground, fitness center, tennis courts and sundries shop.
