Dear Friends,
As most of you already know, we inherited mom’s place in the Senior Park in Clearwater, Florida. You may also know that we decided to keep it instead of selling.
We would like to share our vacation place with family and friends throughout the year. We came up with the best plan and shared responsibilities for handling the property, and we wanted to let you know, and invite you to stay there as well.
The home is in a quiet, senior mobile home park in Clearwater, Florida called Embassy Park. The majority of residents in this park are over 55, retired. Mom's is the creme de la creme there - a bright, pretty double-wide surrounded by the best neighbors! It has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room and sun porch. It is hugged by lemon, grapefruit and orange trees and framed by Florida palms. Fully furnished, including appliances, kitchen gadgets, cookware & tableware, you have all the creature comforts of home in a tropical setting! The beach is a quick drive, or you can lounge at the park’s swimming pool & tool around the park on the trike. You can walk or trike to the shopping plaza which includes a grocery store, movie theater, several restaurants & chain stores.
Embassy Park is a mature, quiet community and as such, we ask that our family and friends respect the park and our mom’s home by adhering to the following rules: no smoking inside the mobile home or the lanai (front porch okay as long as you use an ashtray and have the doors/windows closed so the smoke doesn’t go inside). No loud music, late night shenanigans or otherwise disruptive behavior. In other words, the park itself is not a spring break-type location & the closest hot action will be grandpa hitting the shuffleboard court. But if you would like to get away to a quiet vacation rental near the beach, this is your spot! Please leave the home as you find it.
If you would like to rent, please make arrangements with Marla as soon as possible.

Why the Owner Chose Clearwater
Our mom loved Florida for years, and when she got this property, it was hard to get her back to Pennsylvania, even for visits! The property is in a Senior Park, so it's quiet and fenced from the rest of the town, which gives you more peace and privacy than other areas of Clearwater. The park has a community pool, shuffleboard court & rec center. Most residents choose to drive the trike from their homes to the nearby shopping plaza, which contains a movie theater, grocery store, restaurants, post office, etc. The home is a quick 20 minute drive to the beach or you can walk to catch public transportation.
The Unique Benefits at this Mobile Home
This property has orange trees, grapefruit trees and a lemon tree all on the property. It has a sunroom and carport. The living room has comfy lazy-boy chairs and beautiful blinds to let in the gorgeous Florida sunshine. The area is safe, the neighbors are friendly and we keep all our things in nice condition.
All your basic shopping in one location: groceries, bank, post office, restaurants, movie rentals, movie theater, ice cream stand!
Owner's Map of Clearwater
Dear Friends, As many of you already know, we lost mom last year to cancer. We inherited her "sunshine home" in Florida, and we were not able to bring ourselves to part with it. Although now fully grown, we are still Mary Jo's three "kids": Jeff, Wendy and Marla. This photo is from the mid 1970's, in Pennsylvania, taken by Mary Jo, our mom. It's important to us to keep mom's place and each be able to visit from time to time each year. But none of us can afford to live there year-round. So we are sharing it with you, in hopes that you will treat it with the same care and respect we do. We have split up responsibilities of the property: Jeff is all things physical, Wendy is all things financial, and Marla is all things marketing.

We stayed at Mary-Jo's Sunshine Home in Clearwater for 3 months in 2011 and had a wonderful time. We met some great neighbors and made a lot of new friends. This mobile in very comfortable and nicely decorated. The park is quiet and all the people we met were very friendly. There is lots of shopping nearby as well as many great eating places such as, Applebee's, Chilis, Fat Cat Tavern etc. We enjoyed a great afternoon and evening on St. Patrick's day at the Fat Cat Tavern and plan on returning for another year. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to 2012 for another 3 month stay.

I have stayed at Mary Jo's several times, at least 4 or more, and enjoyed it each time. It is as described: clean and comfortable, some recent remodeling, quiet, friendly, convenient to shopping and beach. On the map that shows the Tri-City Plaza, the mobile home park is just behind it, so it is very close to Publix (a great grocery store), a hardware store, shops and several places to eat. We went to Clearwater Beach's beautiful white sand and calm Gulf water. We took day trips to Sunken Gardens, Tarpon Springs, and Homosassa Springs (to see the Manatees). And there is much more in the area around Tampa & St. Petersburg as well. One of our friends flew into small Clearwater airport, another into Tampa. Loved picking & eating the delicious pink and white grapefruit in Feb-Mar. Definitely would recommend Mary Jo's Sunshine Home as a moderately priced vacation home. Sincerely, Ginny
Owner response:Thanks so much for your kind feedback! We have been lucky to have good, honest people renting Mom's place and I'm grateful you recognized so much of the warmth and care put into her home.
