Why the Owner Chose Leverick Bay
We made our final decision to build our home on Virgin Gorda, because of the wonderful friendly and welcoming native population. There is always a good morning and greetings from everyone you meet. There is virtually no poverty, no prejudice and no crime. There are no other islands that we had ever visited that we could feel so comfortable. Virgin Gorda is known for it's magnificent beaches. Savanah Beach, Spring Bay national Park, Devil's Bay and of course, the Baths, which attracts visitors from all over the world. Leverick Bay is a magnificent waterfront location. A short walk brings you to the resort area. There is an excellent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Large swimming pool, tennis court, local food market, launder mat, small boat rental, complete PADI DIVING EXPERIENCE, massage SPA. Best of all, walk to the end of the dock and hail a free water taxi to the resorts and restaurants along the shores of North Sound. These include Saba Rock, Biras Creek and The Bitter End.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our home offers extremely comfortable nooks and corners for sitting under covered verandas and feeling the cool trade winds on your skin. It is fascinating to watch the parade of boats that come and go through the reef lined entrance of North Sound. The sundeck and pool provide hours of relaxation. When you get hungry, our newly renovated kitchen is a cook's delight. We enjoy gardening and where else can you get, so much sunshine, most of the year. Nighttime is amazing. Since there are no reflecting lights the sky becomes a world of sparkling white stars.
Owner's Map of Leverick Bay
In 1985, on a sailing vacation, we sailed our boat, Carapan, through the entrance to North Sound, via Colquhoun Reef. A steady breeze headed us toward Leverick Bay. Rising from the shoreline was a beautiful green hillside. Could we ever be so lucky, to have a home overlooking the magnificent blue waters of North Sound. As we explored the white sand beaches, swam in the crystal blue waters and worshiped the sun, with the average 85 degree weather, we thought wouldn't it be wonderful if we could own a small part of this. What a nice dream! We began inquiring about purchasing land. After 2 years of negotiating the complexities of local government rules and regulations, we were able to purchase a hillside lot in Leverick Bay, and of course, overlooking North Sound. My entry to paradise is Sea Dream.

My husband and I visited Sea Dreams July 26th with my brother and sister-in law. The view is amazing, the house is clean and very comfortable, and the pool was very welcoming. We stayed during the off season so it was very quiet and we were ready for quiet. We enjoyed our dinners on the veranda, under the stars. The roosters do start at the crack of dawn and can be heard until sunset. After the second day we didn't even notice any longer. We had a chicken visit us each day and I think she thought she was our pet. At one point my sister-in-law took a cat nap to wake up and find BeVI sleeping as well. We had lunch at the Bitter End , a wonderful dinner at Saba Rock and another evening we ate at Leverick Bay. Savanah Beach is the best! The Bath's are a must..... The road is an adventure in itself, and I will leave driving at night to the locals. Great place to stay. Thank you Edie for all your help before we arrived.
Owner response:Richard and I are so happy that you, your husband, brother and sister-in -law had a comfortable and tranquil vacation in our home.

We rented Sea Dream from April 9th until April 23rd. The weather was absolutely perfect in Virgin Gorda for this time of year. The house truly exceeded our expectations. First and foremost, let's start with the views from the house. SPECTACULAR! Every room had amazing views. The layout of the house was well thought out with expansive decks and patios and places to go if you just wanted to read and be by yourself but also ideal for gathering. The house is fully equipped, well kept, nicely decorated and exceptionally clean. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We found that most of the people who lived on the island were very much that way. The house felt bigger than what the pictures showed, in fact the pictures on this website did not do the house justice. The pool is large enough and heated that we used it many times every day. We came to Virgin Gorda in part because we really needed a relaxing vacation but also in part celebrating both my parent's upcoming 70th Birthdays. Sea Dream is an ideal home away from home for all ages. My 26 year old nephew accompanied us and loved it as well. Virgin Gorda is quite a hilly island and the house is located at Leverick Bay (east part of the island) so you will need to rent a car to get around the island. Edie and Richard, the Owners, referred us to Speedys car rental and they had a great selection to choose from and very reasonably priced. Leverick Bay is a very short walk from the house and the Leverick Bay Restaurant and Jumbies Beach bar were both terrific. Great steak and lobster. The Owners, Edie and Richard were great to correspond with. I had concerns about the stairs in and around the home because my parents are getting on in age but they assured me that they were easy to handle and they were indeed. I recommend Savannah Bay for snorkeling and Leverick Bay Water Sports for any rentals. If you are considering Virgin Gorda for your next vacation, please DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS HOME. You will not be disappointed.
Owner response:Sandra Thank you so much for your lovely review. We also want to take this opportunity to thank you and your Dad for buying us a new pool skimmer. That was so nice of you. Richard and I are so happy that your family enjoyed Virgin Gorda and our home.

We had an incredible time at Sea Dream. We shared the house with another couple and their baby. There was plenty of space and privacy for all. The house was clean and well maintained. This was our first trip to Virgin Gorda and I have to say, the local people are just wonderful. We would highly recommend staying here. It was a nice surprise to come home every day to fresh beach towels, our beds made and a clean house. While the house is not fancy, it was perfect. (You may want to bring ear plugs as the local roosters started their day by 4:00 am - but that is local island life) Saba Rock was one of our favorite places for "Happy Hour" and Savannah Bay was our favorite beach. We drove around the Island and explored quite a few dirt roads and spent time at some of the lovely resorts. We have travelled pretty extensively and one thing about this little gem of an Island, is that you can go anywhere and feel safe. Little Dix Bay was a great place for lunch. The local supermarket in Spanish Town has a nice little luncheon where the locals seem to gather. The food was pretty good too. The free boat rides are fun! We certainly hope to be back.

My husband and I booked Sea Dream for our Virgin Gorda vacation. We go to a different Caribbean destination every January or February...but this one by far was our favorite! Sea Dream villa is super comfortable, the view can't be beat, location is probably the best on the island...and we loved being close to Leverick Bay resort's amenities, but up on the hill far away enough to feel like we were completely secluded! Anything we could have possible needed in the villa was provided. Maid service every morning, fresh towels, coffee maker, pots/pans/utensils... We made dinner at the house several nights and sat outside on the terrace. Heaven. Absolute bliss. Would highly recommend this vacation rental- we have already passed on this recommendation to several friends and family members!

Prior to selecting Sea Dream, we researched many other Villas and Sea Dream seemed to offer everything we wanted for our vacation. Upon arrival we entered a truly exceptional home with breathtaking views and it was obvious this home was immaculately kept. The other reviews posted here are very accurate and Edie was a joy to deal with. In our opinion, a Villa vacation is definitely the way to enjoy Virgin Gorda and Sea Dream certainly helped our vacation to be a dream come true.
Owner response:Dear Kathy and Andy We are so glad that you had such a good time on Virgin Gorda. Thank you for your lovely reveiw of our home and very kind words. Sincerely, Edie and Richard

Little did our family know that we were taking them to paradise when we left for the sunny Carribean! My husband and I had previously vacationed at a resort on the island dubbed as a place for the "rich and famous" (of which were are neither!) and thought that we might be a bit disappointed in not doing so again. How mistaken we were! For our family, it wouldn't have compared to the wonderful stay we had at Sea Dreams! The home is even more beautiful than depicted in the pictures! It was a delight to wake up each morning and look out our bedroom doors to sailboats dotting the sparkling blue waters of the Carribean below. Although there are some good restauants on the island, many evenings we chose to have dinner "el fresco" on one of the home's many porches so that we could enjoy the gentle tradewinds coming off the sea below while gazing at the stars above! The multilevels of the home, both inside and out, were wonderful for providing "space" when needed when travelling with a family of parents, young adults and an older teen. The home was spotless and very well-maintained and even has daily maid service and pool cleaning! When were were planning our trip, the owners were very willing to provide answers to our many questions, not only about the home but about our travel arrangements as well. As for the island of Virgin Gorda, the natives are very friendly and accomodating. We toured as much of the island as we could by either walking or car and never encountered a problem. We were always greeted with a friendly smile and a wave! Our week at Sea Dreams was truly a "dream come true" for our family-one which we hope to make a tradition!

My wife and I stayed for a week on Virgin Gorda at Sea Dream and had a great vacation. The house was just like the pictures, with plenty of room for just the 2 of us, and a great view. Dawn the housekeeper did a super job. We had contacted Edie a few times before we arrived with some questions, and to be sure there were a few things there (like a hair dryer and iron), and she answered all our questions quickly and made sure the things were there. We would definately go back. Recommendations - when on Virgin Gorda, you have to see the Baths. Our favorite restaurants are the Mine Shaft and Bath & Turtle - both great food and reasonable prices.

My husband and I stayed in this home for a week in March. Lovely comfortable home, exactly as pictured. Great location with lots of privacy and fantastic views of the harbor, watching the boats come & go. Comfy bed, well equipted kitchen, clean and well maintained...Not fancy but very comfortable. (Exception was inside living room furniture... not very comfortable which was a bit of a drag when we had a few bad weather days where we could not even be on the porch since the wind and rain were so strong, but generally speaking who goes to VG to be inside anyway??) .. Spent most days out exploring the islands, so most of our time when at the house was on the porch at the end of day...a great place to relax with a good book and a glass of wine watching the boats come & go ....or lounging around the pool after a day at the beach or out on a boat. House is within walking distance to Leverick Bay marina and restaurants/free ferries to Saba Rock & Biras Creek, etc. We loved taking a ferry boat out to dinner at nite, not having to drive to try different places. Though Leverick Bay is considered to be on the "far" end of the island, Virgin Gorda is very small and you are only a 20-30 minute drive from anywhere else on the island. You need to drive to get to a nice beach (of which there are many) , but none are far at all and its fun to explore a different beach every day. VG/Leverick Bay is very quiet/laid back so not the place to go if you are into big resorts with tons of activities. But for a relaxing or romantic time in the BVIs its great. Owners were very helpful with suggestions for activities/dining/etc and responsive to any questions we had. Having rented many home throughout the Carribbean we were very satisfied with our experience. Other home we have rented elsewhere (for more money) have been higher end with more upscale furnishings and amenities such as sound systems, tikibars, etc., but I highly recommend this home as a very reasonably priced place with a relaxed beach house vibe for a couple, group of friends or family.
