This is Isla Mujeres and you are vacationing at the beautiful Castillo Del Candelabro, a luxurious 5 bedroom retreat situated near the southern tip of the island. The views of the Mexican Caribbean are endless on this property and are just outside her gates. Castillo Del Candelabro sits on 1 acre of lush tropical gardens which are home to many turtles, birds, and wildlife. This luxury accommodation is complete with a private guest house, infinity-edge salt water pool, spa, Jacuzzi bath, well-appointed linens, wireless internet, satellite television, air conditioning, 1gourmet kitchen, 2 kitchenettes, marble floors throughout, bronze sinks, daily maid and linen service, gated property, nightly security, perfectly manicured garden areas with fountains, palapas, balconies, dining terraces, romantic roman bed, and so much more.....
Main Living Area: The main level of the villa has a lovely dining area, gourmet kitchen including microwave, blender, toaster, gas stove, oven, coffee grinder, and everything needed accommodate ten guests. A sunken formal living room overlooks the pool, manicured landscaping and splendor of the Caribbean Sea! The front doors to the house are adorned with bronze medallions and lead to the tropical gardens.
Folding wooden doors adjacent to the main living area open to an additional private living space with a media center. This space opens to the pool and also to a large covered dining terrace, you will find this relaxing spot a great place to curl up with a book or enjoy one of the many movie channels by satellite. This private area also contains a bedroom, bath, kitchenette including a brass sink, refrigerator, microwave, blender, cooking plate, dishes, spacious counters and more. The bedroom boasts a lovely view of the garden and fountain making it a very quiet and private area of the villa.
Guest House: The private guest house is also well-appointed with a fully-equipped mini-kitchen, full bath with walk in glass shower, marble walls and counter top, queen-size bed, beautiful linens, and great outdoor dining under a palapa with the backdrop of the corner water fall, rock pool and adjacent garden. A perfect get-a-way from the main house, the guest home overlooks the pool with additional views of the garden and fountain areas.
3rd Level Terrace: The view from the top of the main house is all you would expect from island life and is an invitation to outdoor living at its best. The 3rd level terrace has a wet bar, grill, dining table and chairs, plush cushioned seating under a large palapa (grass roof). This incredible space creates a setting for evening dining as you cozy up and watch the sun dip down behind the silvery waters of the Caribbean. This area is perfect for romantic dining, cocktails, receptions, meetings, or early morning breakfast. From the 3rd level terrace you have endless views of Isla Mujeres, as far as your eye can see you can watch the waves meet the shore lines!

We just spent the most incredible vacation on a little island called Isla Mujeres, about a 20 minute ferry ride from Cancun, Mexico. Our accommodations were “over the top” in all aspects. We have travelled extensively but have never had more luxurious accommodations than at Castillo Del Candelabro. It by far exceeded all expectations. The house has marble floors throughout and is totally furnished and equipped for your comfort and convenience. The pool and Jacuzzi overlook the breathtaking Caribbean. The island is a fun place to stay and safe for tourist. The people are easy going and very accommodation. You can find plenty of choices for dining on the island where you dress casual and never feel rushed. Our only regret is the week was over too soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Casa del Candelabro is a luxurious retreat with all the Caribbean vistas you could want. It is impeccably maintained and tastefully decorated by a very hospitable staff. The infinity pool back-dropped by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean and the pool side Roman bed were our favorite spots to hang out and sip coffee or wine. Inside the house had everything you could want. Gorgeous stone floors, sumptuous beds, a fully stocked kitchen, cable, wifi and some good books! The house is very spacious and perfect for large groups or a romantic getaway. We really enjoyed the manicured yard, soft ocean breezes and this lovely home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We stayed at Castillo Del Candelabro in August and had a fabulous experience. The house is gorgeous, spacious and has stunning views. Impeccably clean and tastefully decorated, it was a pleasure staying there. My daughter loved the beautiful infinity pool complete with a mosaic sea turtle on the floor. loved laying on the Roman bed by the pool gazing at the Caribbean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the house was equipped with everything you need. Sleeping on their beds was a little piece of heaven. The mattresses were plush and the linens fine! It is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway or a large group.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My wife and I just returned from a 10th anniversary trip to Isla Mujeres in which we stayed at Castillo del Candelabro. I can say without question this is tone of the finest properties that we have ever had the privilege to visit. As a U.S. diplomat who has been fortunate enough to visit much of the world and stay at some amazing properties, I am not easily impressed. Like many others who have spent significant amounts of money to stay at "luxury" destinations, I have often been disappointed once I actually arrived at the property. This was definitely not one of those experiences. This is genuinely a walled villa complete with wrought iron gate. While the exterior is impressive in its own right, the interior is the show stopper. The property designer did not leave any detail untouched and every room in the house was as beautifully decorated as any home I have ever visited. As you might have imagined, this property was clearly designed and built from the ground up with luxury in mind. This was not your typical average property with a few added touches thrown in to enable the owners to label it luxury, but rather, this property is luxury at every level. From the gorgeous fountain that adorns the front of the home, to the one of a kind pool, to the Jacuzzis (especially the one attached to the master suite) and even to the top of the line Bosch appliances (to include front load washer and dryer) this property is top notch in every facet imaginable. My wife and I usually prefer the benefits of a private property rather than a hotel due to the space and flexibility it provides. At the same time it is also nice to have someone to take care of the dishes, laundry and general housekeeping as one would expect in a luxury hotel. In most instances it is one or the other, but not both. In the case of Castillo del Candelabra, you can have the best of both worlds with the full time maid that is on staff. Each morning the maid would arrive at a time we had designated to clean, make beds, do the dishes, laundry and even fold clothes. To keep the meticulously manicured yard in shape there is also a full time gardener that ensured no detail was left untouched on the outside. As you can probably tell, we truly enjoyed our stay and I can say without hesitation that I recommend this property to anyone that is looking for a beautiful home, with every amenity you might desire, on an island that will quickly steal your heart.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I first came to Isla Mujeres when I was 7 months pregnant with our daughter. We had come to vacation with our young son at a timeshare on the island. We soon fell in love with the island! Within hours of being there, we had spotted the perfect property on which to build our dream home. Great care and painstaking effort went into the construction of our home. We traveled all over Mexico looking for just the perfect touches including marble flooring, furniture, fixtures, luxury bedding and more. Local artisans worked to design and bring to life the most authentic aspects of the home. The final touch to the home was a magnificent bronze chandelier which was suspended above the Great Room, clearly displayed from the large wall of windows facing the ocean. The home was soon recognized by this piece and thus became known as the Chandelier Castle (Castillo Del Candelabro). In 2005, Hurricane Wilma wrought devastation to our home just as we had finished the final steps of construction, ripping off rooftops, blowing out all our windows and ravaging through every room with great force. We picked up the pieces and began building again. Months later, we were able to once again call Castillo Del Candelabro home. My husband and I reside in Missouri and own a billboard sign company. We are blessed to have two beautiful children, a 11-year old son and a 9-year old daughter. Our purpose as a family is to allow our business and beautiful home to bless others, while imparting faith, hope, encouragement and restoration. Our dream is not only to enjoy the home ourselves, but to share it with you!
