Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2009
My Grandfather bought this property for his wife in 1890 and built the first cottage for summer use. We have just finished a brand new Lodge, custom built with rocks and trees from this property. It is so peaceful here in Brighton, and I am proud to continue the legacy of our family in the Alpine Lodge. I want to share this so others can make great childhood memories too.
Why the Owner Chose Brighton
Skiing and winter sports, cool summers and the simple beauty of the High Mountains bring us to Brighton, Utah. Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and downhill skiing as well as snowboarding are here and in the summer we ride our mountain bikes, hike and watch the abundant wildlife. Brighton ski resort, Solitude Nordic center and Solitude Ski resort are all next door. Snowbird and Alta are just 30 minutes away.
The Unique Benefits of this Lodge
Moose live nearby and we see them often. The lodge sits on a private tree covered mountain forest bordered by a stream next to a meadow that leads to Silver Lake. Walk on the boardwalk around the lake with great access for strollers and wheelchairs, and fish or row a boat in silver lake. The beautiful stone fireplace warms you as you light a fire and cozy up together on a leather sofa. This is a one of a kind place with great skiing for all ages and our lodge is especially great for families.

This place was wonderful! We stayed there over presidents day weekend 2011 and had a fabulous time at home and on the slopes. They had it all at the house: the fabulous luxury of enough space for a very large group, enough bathrooms, a large kitchen stocked with enough dishes for cooking and feeding a large group. The best thing about this house was that while it was wonderful for us when we were all there it was also just perfect for the littles when they were home with a small group during the day. The house had everything for every need and we hope to return soon. Brighton, Solitude and Alta all rocked us with over 30 inches of fresh powder during our 5 day stay. We would come back from a hard day of skiing to find the driveway plowed (sometimes twice a day!) and the hot tub and steam shower ready to soothe our tired bones. We loved the fireplace, the toy loft, the beautiful construction and the kindness of the owners. Our only suggestion: make sure to rent a 4-wheel drive if you are coming during ski season! It will just make a wonderful stay all the better. But really, the place is so great you might want to skip the 4-wheel drive just to get snowed in!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

I take an annual snowboarding trip with anywhere from 15-25 people. This year, our group all agreed that Alpine Lodge was one of the best places we've stayed at - the lodge is beautiful, clean, spacious and best of all, convenient. The lifts are at a walkable distance (about 8-10 mins) but a lot of people took cars (1 min away) so they wouldn't have to walk in their snowboard/ski boots. There's also a shuttle on the weekends that stops at the Brighton Cafe right across the street (super convenient). We had 20+ people in the house but it never felt that crowded and it helped that the sinks were in a different room from the shower and bathroom so that more people could get ready at the same time. All of the appliances/features worked great - especially the hot tub and grill. And the cubicles right in front of the garage was convenient and helped keep all of our things together and organized. This is a well designed house in a convenient location for snowboarders and skiers!

Our family visited from the Los Angeles area during the winter/spring last season. The lodge was fantastic! We had ample room for our entire family. Loved the great room and kitchen area. Skied at Brighton all week (no lines) and went nordic skiing right out the front door at the Nordic Center track next door. Coming back this season!

We were privileged to rent this beautiful lodge to house a faculty retreat for the private school in which I teach. It was a brilliant move in that this historic and stunning Lodge brought us together and gave us a place of needed relaxation. It was a perfect couples weekend that was thoroughly enjoyed. The BBQ was especially a hit with the steak and salmon we brought up. 5 stars all the way!

We had our annual office summer retreat at this Alpine Lodge. It was a great time. The kids enjoyed playing horseshoes and running around the pristine location. After we got home my daughter could not stop talking about the children’s loft. This quant little spot above everything was a prefect place for the kids to hang out. Thanks for letting us use your retreat, it makes it easy for the adults to have fun when the kids have a safe exciting place to engage there imagination.

We reserved the Alpine Lodge for our company retreat and it was just perfect! Our company is young, so in addition to the 14 adults there were 10 kids who found many neat places in the cabin and on the trails around it to entertain themselves. Besides the very accomodating kitchen, deck, and grill for eating, the main comments from the group were "What a great bonus room with bunk beds and ping-pong!" and "What a great little toy loft for the young ones!" We are definitely going to reserve this for a family reunion in the future. What a beautiful cabin in a beautiful place! Thanks Alpine Lodge!
