Golden is laced with walking and biking trails, allowing you to explore the foothills of Colorado or take a leisurely stroll along the beautiful Clear Creek River to watch the kayakers play in the tumbling waters.
Ready for refreshment? Grab a tube and float down the river to the Coors Brewery where an exciting tour and cold brew await. Golden boasts ten museums, numerous restaurants, and even an alpine slide and water park. If the snow is falling a short drive up the mountain will put you in the best ski country in the West. If you're feeling lucky, gambling in historic Central City is only minutes away.
The house is comfortably furnished with a mountain cabin theme. Sleeping accommodations include one king bed, one queen bed, and a futon for extra guests. Large living room windows provide a view of the Golden valley area and Lookout Mountain. Natural-style landscaping and a private yard create a restful, mountain-cabin atmosphere with easy access to all the modern and historical attractions of the former Gold Rush-era town center.

Owner Description
Casey & Tamara have owned the property since 2007 and have been managing the duplex style home ever since. The Charming Townhouse has been a vacation rental since the purchase of the property and in late 2009 they also turned the second unit (the Comfy Cottage)into a vacation rental as well. We take great pride in their rentals and hope that our renters feel the passion that we have for the property.
Why the Owner Chose Golden
The property is a duplex style home with two vacation rentals. Each rental has its own fenced yard and has an amazing view of Lookout Mountain. Each unit is quiet and comfortable and has its own uniqueness. I love that there are walking and biking trails all around us.

We have always loved Golden and when we decided to purchase a rental property here location was very important to us. We wanted a house that was within walking distance to downtown Golden but located in a quiet family friendly neighborhood.

We are just getting settled in from our trip to Comfy Cottage in Golden, Co. During our stay in the "Upper" unit we enjoyed the views of Denver in the evenings. Everything was clean, comfortable, and very will furnished. The decor was quality, not dated. Having access to our own washer/dryer was convenient, to say the least. The location is within walking distance of town, but not too close, just right. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning to the same location soon. The Wises

My family and I had an extended stay at the Comfy Cottage in Golden and it was wonderful. The location is perfect--great views of the foothills surrounding Golden as well as a short walk to downtown and all that Golden has to offer. The property is extremely well managed, the owners friendly and helpful in all respects. And a bonus is that the master king bed is amazingly comfortable!

We had a wonderful vacation in Golden and this house worked out perfectly for us. The location couldn't have been better ... walking distance to downtown Golden and a nice grocery store nearby. I felt that the house was larger and even nicer than the photos, and Tamara was extremely helpful and accommodating. We hope to visit again someday!

Really enjoyed our stay at this location. Worked out perfectly for us. Clean and spacious accomodations, with all necessary amenities provided. Downtown location provided easy access to restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, etc. Customer service was outstanding! We would definitely stay at this location again, and I would certainly recommend to a friend or relative.

We shared this vacation rental with friends from another state (see previous review). In addition to her comments: We felt safe in this vacation home. Parking was adequate - room for one vehicle at the rear, others on the street, both felt secure. Despite being on a busy street, the area seemed quiet. Easy walking to downtown Golden, also to a shopping center in the opposite direction. We found a drawer in the kitchen containing ideas for restaurants and entertainment, plus a few coupons. We visited family in Lakewood. Touring included Boulder, Red Rocks Amphitheater, geologic sites in Morrison, the Colorado School of Mines, Denver Botanical Gardens, Pikes Peak. Plus hiking in the local park system. There's so much to do in the Denver area, we've barely scratched the surface! With family in the area we will probabaly return to the Denver area more than once. We would be delighted to stay in this rental again, and would also recommend it to other family or friends.

In mid-October, we converged with family from opposite ends of the country to spend a week in the Denver area. We were fortunate to find the Comfy Cottage Townhome for our stay. Not only did we enjoy the comfortable and spacious lower unit of this duplex for the entire time, but we also rented the upper level for another family in our party who stayed just for the weekend. The property was clean, the beds and furniture comfortable, kitchen and bath well supplied. Communication with Tamara Meeks was always timely and professional. The only confusing element was the DISH TV service and the link between programming in the two units (we discovered there was some connection when our friends moved in upstairs). We do not have DISH ourselves, and it might have been obvious how to work the system for someone who does. This was our first VRBO experience and we came away, ready to do it again the next time.
