my son, nephew, brother in law and myself rented this home for a week in mid september of 2012 as a base while fishing with alaska river adventures guide service. the home is large and everyone had their own bedroom. we did not have to take as many clothes with us because there was a washer and dryer on location. the view is great and the place is secluded and on the river. we spent most of our time in the evenings enjoying the use of the kitchen and family room with the fireplace blazing. the owner was easy to talk to and gave me tips on what to expect and where to do while there.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: I am just an old goat that loves the Lord, loves my wife and loves to fish. We 1st came to AK in 1995 for vacation and fell in love with the Kenai River and Cooper Landing. Unable to find property in Cooper Landing we bought and built our retirement home on the River in Sterling about 30 minutes south of here. In June of 2007 we found this magnificent place and could not pass it up. Still in Texas working and enjoying part of the summer fishing up here, all we need now is to figure out how to retire.
Why the Owner Chose Cooper Landing:
We chose this house in Cooper Landing because the views are spectacular, the fishing is fantastic and the wildlife/bird viewing is great. The location makes it the ideal location to access the entire Kenai Peninsula. The residents of Cooper Landing are some of the friendliest people we have encountered and are always willing to lend a hand and teach someone how to catch the fish of their dreams.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We have some of the best tasting pure spring water on the planet. Our spring was the water supply for Cooper Landing for many years. Pipped straight into the house it is fantastic. We are only 15 minutes from the world famous Kenai-Russian River confluence. There are numerous rafting companies within 5 miles of the house and guide services as well. We are only 50 min from Seward and 2 hrs from Anchorage. There are many hiking trails within minutes of the house as well. The Russian River Falls is an easy hike for bear viewing. Golf is only 45 minutes away in Soldotna.
