Location: Chico, Shasta Cascade, California, USA View Map
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms, 1.5+ Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
My house is known as the "Bell" house, one of Chico's 10 oldest houses and was built by Mr. Bell in 1874. It is centrally located near the heart of historic downtown Chico.
It is within walking distance to shopping, banking, restaurants, the university, and Bidwell mansion and also Bidwell park. It is located in a quiet friendly neighborhood surrounded by magnificent trees. Its serene location is close to both mountains, rivers and lakes. It is close to the second largest public park in America, Bidwell park, where there are biking and hiking trails, natural swimming holes, and natural surroundings that are just breathtaking. A few miles from downtown is the historic town of Paradise which is a small community that lives up to its name, nestled in the mountains above Chico, the summertime temperatures are cooler, and there are pine and cedar trees everywhere.
My house has two bedrooms, furnished with two queen size beds with one pneumatic extra mattress in the closet, each bedroom has its own pedestal sink, and there is a bathroom in between the bedrooms. The downstairs consists of a foyer, kitchen/dining room that can accommodate eight persons. The dining area has paintings by Van Gogh and Thomas Kinkade that have their own track lighting. The living room area is also furnished with antique living room furnishings, and marble topped tables, it has a wet bar, and paintings by Renoir, and Van Gogh. Outside is a tiled porch overlooking a landscaped area with a pond and rock garden that is large enough to accommodate small parties.

Why the Owner Chose Chico
This area actually chose me because of its natural beauty and nearby mountains and lakes. My house is part of Chico's history, centrally located, and in a quiet and friendly neighborhood.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This wonderful house, built in 1874, is surrounded by huge trees that were planted around the time of its construction. Since I originally purchased this house I have restored it to its original glory, and added porches, tiled floors and counters. One of its best features is the close proximity to the university and Bidwell Park, and the historic downtown area, all within walking or bicycling distance.
Owner's Map of Chico
I am a retired contractor who fell in love with this area and town back in 1985, when I moved here to complete my education. I like traveling to other countries, dogs, riding motorcycles, and general sightseeing.
