Villa Azul Manual Antonio worth considering

We were 4 women friends travelling without our spouses and security was one of our concerns. We did not need a car, we were able to take the bus to the beach, to Manual Antonio Park and to Quepos. We were picked up at the villa for all the tours which Jean helped us organize. We rented both top and lower villas since we wanted the use of 2 bathrooms. The higher villa had a mezzanine bedroom for 2, the bathroom was also located on the mezzanine. There was a powder room on the main level which was very handy since we spent most of our time on the top floor. 2 of us occupied the lower villa with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. We did not have the laundry facility, Jean organized for the cleaning lady to pick up our clothes and return them the same day, that worked well. The grocery store is within walking distance. Going to the beach is a downhill walk about 3 to 4 km, the return is the tough part, we walked it twice for the exercise. The view is spectacular. The sunsets are to die for. That small cool pool was wonderful, we used it a lot. We walked to restaurants, there were many choices. It's very peaceful, we used the a/c which was appreciated. The place was clean and had everything we needed. It was a wonderful vacation and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Our family had an outstanding experience staying at Villa Azul. The location was only moments from the beach and the amazing Manuel Antonio National Park. We thoroughly enjoyed the tranquel atmosphere of the property, from the beautiful views to the adorable monkeys stopping by for a visit on the deck. We found the jacuzzi a great place to unwind after a day at the beach and large enough for all four of us to enjoy at once. The quaint local town of Quepos was charming and the people were warm and friendly. We speak very little Spanish but that was not a problem as most of the locals spoke English. The owner Jean was extremely helpful and pleasant. He set up several excursions for us, including a canopy tour that was thrilling and a snokeling tour where we saw dolphins at play. Jean also made wonderful recommendations on the best places to eat in Quepos. We had a blast and can't want to make a return trip! Thank you Jean for a truly lovely stay!

Although we are fairly seasoned travelers, this was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were a little apprehensive. We rented Villa Azul over the internet after conducting significant research into the Manuel Antonio area. Upon making initial arrangements to rent the house for a two week period we were contacted by Jean, the owner for final arrangements. Jean was very helpful and provided all of the necessary information to dissolve any apprehension that we had. Upon arriving at the Villa, we immediately fell in love with the house and the area. We rented the main and upper levels of the house and found both to be spacious and offer stunning views of the Pacific and a mountain range. If you enjoy a beautiful sunset, you will not be disappointed with the striking variations you will see from the deck. he Villa is very well maintained, clean and well appointed. Very early in the trip we made pre-arrangements with Jean for various activities in the area. Included in the arrangements was a pick-up and drop-off service, the prices were better than others we met on the same activities and all of the activities we took part on lived up to the promised thrills and excitement. The Villa is conveniently located on the peak of a hill offering a panoramic view of the ocean and mountains. Both decks are excellent for relaxing in the sun and they also offer convenient shade when needed. The upper deck has a Jacuzzi pool that provided ample space for the four of us and also provided the periodic refreshment from the heat of the sun. For those that want to use the kitchen facilities, they provide all of the necessities for cooking the simple to the more culinary delicacies that can be prepared in either of the two kitchens. Quepos is just minutes away and all of your grocery needs can be fulfilled. The Villa is also conveniently located to a store where daily beverage / food needs can purchases. The Manuel Antonio beaches are excellent and are a short drive from the Villa and taxis are readily available. There are a significant number of restaurants in Manuel Antonio and Jean provided excellent advice to us as to the best locations for various types of menus as well as bars (pubs) and entertainment. Jean is a gracious host! I recommend using his advice for activities, restaurants and bars as they will live up to or exceed your expectations.

This was a splendid place to say at with a family of 4 plus the mother-in-law- makes 5. We were here for 1 week. Both boys and mother-in-law stayed downstairs overnight, while we could enjoy each others company after late pm hours upstairs and or go out. The boys would lounge around upstairs and play in the water, or take a break for a good read downstairs in the hammocks. The owner has a very accurate list of area attractions and restaurants - recommend following, very helpful. Our favorite was Mimos Restaurant -David the chef really took great care of us, fab meal by the pool (kids were nuts to swim during dinner- float toys provided) (wish we brought the swimsuits too). If you go ask him how the Jack Daniels Reduction (burbon) is comming along, and did he like it on chicken or beef better. A nice Chardoney was 34-entire meal for 5 with tip 200usa. We recommend staying here, the pictures portray the open, outdoors feeling of the villa, beautiful. We are a get out and do family and like a nice place to relax for a few hours before bed. This is a very quite place, I don't believe we heard any city noises at night. You may here a dump truck on occasion on the balcony during the day, down shifting the hill on occasion - you're at the highest point. The sunsets are fantastic from the patio of the home. Manuel Antonio is the best of what Costa Rica is about, far from authentic CR but still the basics. We liked the beaches, on days we felt like boogie boarding we choose a beach with waves, we also went to a peaceful beach that was calm for snorkeling and floating located close by. One regret, I wish I had spent more time talking to the owner, I'm just not sure if either of us really had the time or that he was being very respectful of our time during our stay. He's a fine fellow, if you have a question when you see him - ask.

We had a great experience at Villa Manuel Antonio. These photos do this house no justice. It is 100% more beautiful. We had an extremely lovely time. Every concern was handled by Mr. Collins before our arrival and our stay of 10 days COULD NOT have been better. Not a single complaint, except that we don't get to stay year round! We shall return. The views and house are extra-ordinary. The house is inviting and well designed. We were very happy there. It is beautiful.
