Auction Weekend

Guest: Karen (Aiken, SC )
Date of Stay: 05/03/12 Review Submitted: 05/07/12

Our family had a great time at the cabin last weekend. It is so quiet and peaceful. Very well maintained. You can certaintly tell the owners care about this property and making their guests feel at home. We rafted the Chattooga, climbed through the stream and generally relaxed. It was a perfect weekend. We will definately consider going back again. Next time we will take the dog. We left him home this time since we had never been there before. He would have enjoyed his stay too. :)

Peace and Quiet

My wife and I stayed at Starlite cabin and enjoyed a wonderfully comfortable bed, seclusion and all the amenities of home. We stayed 4 nights and were not bothered by anyone or anything. If you ride a motorcycle up to the cabin, it can be tricky for the cruisers, but was still able to reach it. We would return to the cabin if we are in the area again. Great value for the money.

Great Visit!

Guest: Helen (Atlanta,GA)
Date of Stay: 10/26/11 Review Submitted: 11/08/11

We loved the cabin, lots of natural light, very comfortable and clean and well taken care of. The owner was very customer service oriented and we could reach him at anytime. We enjoyed hiking at Wayah Pass and the drive along Old River Road (very scenic) near the cabin. Loved buying fresh trout at the plant in Andrews, and loved the drive along the river to the Nantahala Outdoor Center and the Train ride from Bryson City. The cabin is a good base to explore the area!

Warm & Cozy

Guest: Patty (Cooper City, FL)
Date of Stay: 08/16/11 Review Submitted: 08/24/11

My 2 teenage boys and I decided to spend our Summer in North Carolina and were more than excited about our trip. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised at how warm & cozy the cabin felt the moment we walked in. One of my boys stated..."This is perfect - we can stay here and not go anywhere!". The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. It definitely felt like home. After a busy day of outdoor activites, we couldn't wait to go back to the cabin and relax. We loved sitting out on the swing and take in the sounds of nature. We will definitely be return customers and experience the beauty of it all for the Fall and Winter. I highly recommend Starlite to everybody!!! You won't be disappointed!

We had such a good time at this cabin. The area is wonderful, and you are not going to miss anything. The attractions are all over the area, and you have got the feeling that your day is so long. The cabin is so well organize, nice and clean, so you will spend your vacation without any worries. The property has spectacular views, loved the fireplace and fire pit, and the Jacuzzi. It was a perfect place to chill, kick back and share some quality time with each other. We loved the place! The river views were wonderful! It was so relaxing; we could easily have stayed another week! Hopefully we'll make it there again soon. Sean it was just great to work with and answered all our questions. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us. Everything was just perfect

Spring time at Starlite

Guest: Johnny & Diane (Goose Creek, SC )

My husband & I just returned from Starlite (May 3 - 7, 2011) and had a wonderful time. The cabin has all the comforts of home & then some. The view from the cabin was just beautiful. We spent the afternoons driving around enjoying the sites & relaxed the evenings in the hot tub looking out over the mountain under the star filled sky. We have decided to make this a yearly vacation & will most definately be contacting Starlite in the future.

Everything we wanted and more!! (March 20-23, 2011)

Guest: Bob and June (Smithfield, VA)
Date of Stay: 03/20/11 Review Submitted: 03/30/11

My wife and I just returned from Starlite and had a wonderful time. The inside of the cabin is immaculately maintained and the outdoor hot tub was the perfect end to the day. Everything you need is supplied in the cabin so that the only thing you really need to pack-in is your food and a toothbrush. The surrounding area is beautiful and if you enjoy hiking, the Bartram Trail entrance is literally around the corner which leads up to some spectacular waterfalls and vistas. If you want to "get away" for a while, this is the place. Sean is a great host who ensured that everything was as-advertised, and we truly felt welcomed especially when he called on our first evening to make sure we arrived safely. Thanks for everything Sean.....we will be back!! Bob and June

We truly enjoyed our visit at Starlite. We make a trip to Starlite every winter usually our anniversary week which is March 7. We accidentally discovered Starlite 8 years ago and have enjoyed a week there every year since then. We love spending a week together and roaming the area backroads. A very peaceful place to share with the one that you love. This is a tradition that we started and look forward to our week in heaven every year. I recccomend this cabin to everyone and hope that you can make memories such as we have in such a beautiful place.

Date of Stay: 02/11/11 Review Submitted: 02/14/11

My fiance and I just returned from our stay and Starlite cabin (2/11-13/2011) and absolutely loved it. The cabin was very clean and had every amenity one could wish for. It was exactly as described and shown in the photographs. It is in a secluded spot in the beautiful Nantahala mountains which provided for the peace and quiet we were seeking. But it was a short drive to anything in the area including stores, restaurants, hiking, rafting, fishing, and much more. We really enjoyed playing pool and the hot tub was great after a day of hiking on the Appalacian Trail. We were lucky to have 1-2 inches of snow on the ground during our stay which added to the beauty of the mountains. Next time we hope it is warmer though so we can mt bike at Tsali. We both wished we could have stayed longer and hope that we will get the opportunity to enjoy this great cabin again soon. Thanks Sean and family for allowing others to enjoy your beautiful home. We had a great time at the cabin. It was very relaxing. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool table, and the fireplace. Even in January, the mountains are beautiful, and we did a bit of hiking and star gazing. I can't wait to check this place out in the summer. We had a couple small issues and they were handled very promptly. The owner is very nice and helpful. Definitely recommended.

Ok let me start out by saying if you are reading these reviews to determine if this is the place you want to stay, I will tell you first hand that IT IS! This cabin is perfect in everyway and we are already planning our next trip. In fact we were supposed to check out and called Sean to stay an additional night because we were enjoying ourselves so much. The cabin is so cozy and clean, you immediatly feel at home. Our favorite things to do were hike to the waterfall, listen to the creek, watch the stars, relax in the jacuzzi, play pool and wind down by the fire. My family has come home with memories that will last a lifetime! Thanks for sharing the perfect moutain cabin with us Sean!

Winter Wonderland

Guest: Christmas Traveler (Atlanta, Georgia)
Date of Stay: 12/26/10 Review Submitted: 01/07/11

Our family of four stayed at StarLite for just a few days but have memories to last a lifetime! We traveled from North Atlanta to StarLite Dec 25th 2010. It has snowed the night before and we were very excited at the prospect of more snow in the mountains. On the trip, it began to snow even more and by the time we reached the cabin there was 12 feet of snow on the ground, which grew to about 18 feet during the night. The next day we explored and played in the snow, read, watched movies, shot pool, and finally soaked in the hot tub surrounded by snow covered trees. The kids (14 and 18) were even able to check FaceBook using the WiFi access in the cabin! StarLite was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed. Thank you Sean and family for allowing us to stay in your lovely cabin.

2nd Anniversary

Guest: Mark & Cheryl (Iron Station, NC)
Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/24/10

We stayed at the Starlite cabin for our 2nd wedding anniversary in mid-October. The cabin was nestled off the main road and the sound of a small creek filled the air and seemed to sooth the soul. The inside was decorated with attention to detail in such a way that it was fun to discover what was just around the corner. We enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace and pool table after winding down from a full day of discovering the outdoors. The Cherahala Skywas was an awesome ride this time of year with the leaves at their peak. Our GPS actually took us through the Cherokee National Forest in which we stumbled upon the Trail of Tears. The weekend went by too quickly for sure, but we will be back to visit Starlite the next opportunity we get. Thank you Sean for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. Mark & Cheryl, 2010

Our experience at Starlite was absolutely wonderful! The location is perfect. Lake Nantahala is just around the corner and what a beauty it is. The cabin had everything we needed. We loved the pool table and most of all the hot tub under the stars. We spent time walking in the area and traveling the back roads. The scenery was wonderful. Andrews was close to get groceries and browse the shops. The owner was very helpful. We will definitely return. What a wonderful place to spend a week getting back to the important things in life.

STARLITE STARBRIGHT YOU CAN SEE ALL THE STARS OUT AT NIGHT AT THIS SWEET CABIN!

Guest: JAY (Boca Raton Florida)
Date of Stay: 07/29/10 Review Submitted: 08/05/10

We drove 14 hours to stay at STARLITE CABIN and we were not disappointed! It was such a lovely cabin nestled in the NC mountains. Everything you could want was at your fingertips, there was a full washer/dryer~2 full bathrooms~complete kitchen to make your meals. Dining table, breakfast counter, comfy couch and big tv. We also have to mention how wonderfully clean this cabin was maintained. Our son loved the pool table on the 2nd level & it was such a spacious cabin with all the ammenities of home. Starlite was a wonderful getaway for the family, and it was great not to have any cellphone service, as this prevented any work seeping into the vacation. Of course having a home phone was convenient when needed. There were many sites to see in the area as we went on the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, did the exciting NOC Whitewater River Rafting, saw the Ruby Falls in TN, and just lots & lots of exploring. We want to thank you Sean and Jack very much for making this an incredible summer, and we would love to visit again. Jay, Kathleen & Jack

First of all, Sean is very fast to respond to inquiries by email, telephone, etc. We really enjoyed our stay. Starlite is nestled in the woods on the side of a mountain overlooking a river. You are approximately 25 minutes away from both Andrews and Nantahala Outdoor Center. The cabin itself was immaculately kept and had all the amenities promised. You really can't go wrong with this choice if you are looking for peace and quiet without being too far away from groceries, food, etc.

We truly enjoyed our stay at StarLite. The cabin is beautiful, spacious and has all the comforts of home...plus! The hot tub was a welcoming place after a long day on the river or just out exploring. It was very quiet and we were able to stay active yet relax all at the same time. We were also pleasantly surprised that it did not take very long to get to other cities like Cherokee, Bryson City & Asheville. You would think being that far up on the mountain, it would take a long time to get anywhere but it didn't. And the views while travelling are indescribable. Thanks so much for making sure everything was just right; even down to the kitchen being well equipped. That's not easy to find these days. The memories made this week were priceless!

Well where do i start. This was my wife's gift to me for retireing from the S.C.H.P. we arrived on 4/1/2010 for seven days. we went shopping, took about 400 pictures, and met some of the nicest people we have ever met. Sean you really have a very nice place, and we for sure will be back!!! the drive in and out from the cabin is breath taking. we did the trips to the waterfalls all i can say is WOW! A trip into bryson city is a must for a breakfast crepe and desert crepe at the coffee shop (cork and bean) it will rock your world!! As a scottish person we took a trip to franklin tartan museum and gift shop. oh one more thing for the freshest rainbow trout you have to go up otter creek road to the trout farm (home of the jumbo rainbow) you can buy enough for dinner they are great people. now back to the cabin at night you feel like your in heaven because as you sit in the hot tub the stars are so close it looks like you could take your hands and just put them where you wanted them. Was just the relaxing time that me and my wife needed. we played pool walked to the dam and up to the mill wheel. If your looking for a good time or a place to reconnect or just get away with your special someone this is it.

If you're looking for some peace and quite with all the accommodations of home, then this is it! This was our last stop on a long weekend trip we took through the mountains and it was the greatest way to relax after several days of hiking, shopping and driving! It was great to have a cozy place to be with the ability to have a home-cooked meal after several days of eating out. I certainly can't go without mentioning the hot tub! Ahhhh! So wonderful and made the stay even extra special. Thanks Sean for a lovely stay!

Finally, I remember to write about our visit at Starlite. We arrived late at night to a well-lit home with music playing after a long days drive. (Worth every minute.) My young daughter and I spent about five days there with our main goal being to fish, kayak, and relax. The fishing was superb in the Nantahala river. Starlite itself is the perfect place to return to after a day on the river. Wonderful kitchen to cook up supper, great hot tub, comfortable furniture, and plenty of space to plan the next days' outings. We also happen to discover a wonderful Humane Association in Marble because a young pup discovered us on one of our many hikes. Thanks, Sean as we will return again! Teri

What a great place to spend the holidays! We arrived during a big snow storm and the cabin was warmed by the fireplace and very cozy. It is well stocked, very comfortable and the ideal location for anyone wanting to explore this great area for hiking, sightseeing, etc. We hope to be back during a time we can enjoy the many opportunities for rafting, kayaking, fishing, etc. It is a great place to end the day out. The pool table is a great place for the pool sharks to hang out. The hot tub is private and yet has a view this time of year. We could see Christmas lights on the other side of the valley! The sounds of the creek were very soothing. I could go on, but we hope you get the picture and enjoy the cabin as we did.

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin. It's an excellent mountain retreat and we enjoyed our stay. The cabin is comfortable and well-maintained with all of the comforts of home and then some. The pool table in the loft is a nice touch and might be the main reason I booked this cabin. For my wife, it was the hot tub that sold her on it. The view from the hot tub is trees…just trees. The cabin is tucked up against a mountain with good privacy, but not isolated. It is convenient to rafting and hiking, with a trail within walking distance down the road. I look forward to rafting season and I know I'll be staying here.
