Why the Owner Chose Upper East Side
New York City is the greatest city in the world and I fulfilled a lifelong dream when I bought this one bedroom in the Upper East Side/Yorkville neighborhood. I was renting in the East Village and decided that while the energy of the Village was great, I wanted to be able to more easily enjoy some nature and quiet time in Central Park/UES. I chose this one bedroom because it is 3 blocks from Central Park, but also 3 blocks from the 4/5/6 subway station at 86th Street. For quick access to to midtown, the village, and downtown, being near an express subway (the 4/5 train) is critical (the 6 train is local and makes all stops through Manhattan). My place is on the 5th/top floor of a walk-up building and the bedroom faces the back courtyard. This is ideal because you don't have to hear neighbors stomping around on top of you nor street noise. The extra steps are very worth the peace and quiet you get to enjoy when you're getting a great night's sleep to refresh for another exciting day in NYC.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
5 minute walk to Central Park, the Met Museum, the Gugenheim, and the express/local 4/5/6 subway station. Close to Gracie Mansion and Shurz Park overlooking the East River. Remodeled stainless steel/granite kitchen, hardwood floors, 9 ft ceilings, and more.
The Met has a permanent collection containing more than two million works of art, divided into nineteen curatorial departments and is one of the world's largest art galleries.
One of the best-known museums in New York City and one of the 20th century's most important architectural landmarks. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the museum––which is often called simply The Guggen
The 86th Street Station serves the Express 4 and 5 train to get downtown quickly or up to Yankee Stadium (4 train only) as well as the Local 6 train that serves all Lexington Ave stations in Manhattan
Amber is awesome, great variety of sushi and Asian dishes for moderate prices. Cool atmosphere and decor. Say Hi to Melanie, Joey, and Rachel if you stop in.
Fairly busy atmosphere depending on the time of day. The prices are reasonable, the food is good, and its good picture window people watching on 86th Street- and atmosphere. There are more than one
A friend I met at Amber says this is the best steak place in the city after Peter Luger's. I haven't tried it, but I'm going to check it out soon.
Cool historic atmosphere and good food. Overpriced- they charge by the cup of coffee and an orange juice is $8 (fresh squeezed). Good pecan pancakes. Check this place out if you want an old NY brea
Best pizza I've found in UES. They used to be on 2nd Ave and reopened here after an absence. Best for take-out, the atmosphere is nothing special.
Owner's Map of Upper East Side
Bryan is a consultant with IBM who travels nearly 90% of the time for work. He moved back east in 2007 after spending 10 years in Colorado. After living in the East Village for a year, he found the Upper East Side to be a much nicer location while still convenient to all of the things to see and do in Lower Manhattan and the Village.

Great Graduation Trip in New York City!!!

Took my son to New York for his graduation from high school. We stayed at Bryan's apartment on the Upper Eastside and loved it. The location was great.. the apartment was clean, updated, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. (Including a 42" tv for the 1 afternoon/evening that we had just burnt the candles at both ends and needed some down time...) It was so nice to come home to the apartment in a peaceful, clean, relaxing neighborhood after being out in the hustle and bustle (usually til very late at night) every day. And there were great restaurants and shops nearby as well. The subway was so close, we could go anywhere. All in all, a great time, and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you Bryan!

Hi Bryan I'm back in NC and already missing NYC and your spectacular apartment. It really was perfect. Immaculately clean, stocked with everything we needed and more. And, of course, I don't need to tell you that the location was ideal. My friends were so thrilled with everything. Thank you for making the arrangements effortless. Will be in touch the next time I make plans to get back.

Wonderful Stay in the Upper East Side!

My sister-in-law and I greatly enjoyed this apartment during a recent visit to NYC. It was a welcome retreat after a full day taking in all that NYC has to offer. The one bedroom and living room sleeper sofa allowed for more than adequate sleeping arrangements. We walked extensively in the neighborhood, especially to restaurants ( try "Quattro Gatti" around the corner on E. 81 St.) and to museums (don't miss the Neue Gallery). The #6 train can be reached close by and can get you almost everywhere, even close to Broadway for a show,,,no need for expensive cabs. Bryan, the owner, is very efficient and is easily reachable during your stay should you have any questions. I enjoyed myself so much that I have requested a date to return in the near future.

My best friend and I rented this apartment for a week to celebrate our year of turning 50! It worked out perfectly for us. The pull out in the livingroom allowed us to each have a "bedroom" and more room than a hotel. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and anything you would "think" of that you would need to prepare a meal or just coffee. The apartment was remarkably quiet! You forgot where you were staying. It was also VERY clean and tidy. We can't say enough about the location. 3 short blocks from the 86th subway station and 3 blocks from the MET and Central Park. How could it get any better than that? In addition, there are great markets just a block away to purchase all the items you would need to have breakfast or cook a meal after a long day of touring. Fanstastic bars and restaurants are right around the corner also! We were 2 women traveling on our own and we felt very safe at both the apartment and in the area. The only downside is it is a 5 story walk up, but we are still "young" and the extra exercise did us good! We would definitely recommend this property and will be back as soon as we can! The only way to go when visiting NYC!

I had an enjoyable week's stay in this apartment. Great location and generally quiet. There are lots of shops and services within easy walking distance, plus all the museums on 'the mile' and Central Park. The owner was efficient in following up on the reservation and with sending everything I need to access the apartment. I'd recommend it to someone or a couple wanting to stay on the Upper Eastside.

Bryan was great to work with while booking his property. He always answered promptly to every email. We had to cancel the booking but he made it very easy and was prompt in returning the deposit. We will definitely work with him again. Thank you for everything. We hope to use the property soon!

This apartment is very conveniently located - close to Central Park, close to the Metropolitan Museum and Guggenheim, and a two minute walk from the 86 or 77 street subway. The apartment itself is well-equipped and comfortable and the owner is extremely helpful and efficient in helping to get things organised. I'd thoroughly recommend the apartment as a great place to stay for a single, couple or small family. The only thing to consider are the four flights of stairs in a building without a lift.
Owner response: Chris, thanks for visiting and I hope the stairs were well worth the location. I'd always be glad to have you back for another visit if you come to NY.
