We spent a week at Ron and Christina's casita and can't say enough good things about it! While we're not surfers we certainly were still able to thoroughly enjoy the beach and the sun. Their property is absolutely gorgeous and welcoming. And Ron and Christina were truly the most awesome hosts - never intruding but always helpful and accommodating. They'd make such wonderful neighbours!! What a great experience it was for us...Thanks again to you both!!

We stayed in 3 places while in Costa Rica and this place was our favorite. My wife, baby girl, and I stayed here for 10 days and were not ready to leave! The suite is completely newly remodelled and is surrounded by tropical green gardens. The surf break is a 2 minute stroll away and so are many great restaurants, surf shops, and tourist activities. We didn't have a vehicle for the majority of our stay and it was never a problem. Ron and Christina and their small dog Rego are the most generous and hospitable family in Guiones... I'm sure of it! Surf hard, watch the beautiful sunset, eat a delicious dinner, sleep compfortably on the pillowtop mattress and repeat! Pura Vida!

To be brief - Casa Christina delivered on all fronts! Ron & Christina were exceptional hosts, the house was clean, functional, tastefully outfitted and very comfortable to kick back and enjoy the patio and pool after a day of surfing. And there's a perfect surf beach a 2-min walk out the back door, btw. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I can't wait to go back! Christina and Ron were great. The house was very well kept and the location was walking distance to everything you needed. Couldn't get much closer to Playa Guiones. Having access to the bikes was nice as well for getting around town. The gardens around the property were the nicest in the town. One recommendation would be an outdoor grill but that's all. Hope you guys are doing well. Missing CR everyday.

We Stayed for a week and next time will be definitely longer. Christina and Ron were the best hosts, they were never intrusive and we had so much privacy. But when we needed them they were right there to point us in the right direction for eats, surf and private snorkel spots. Guiones is one of the most peacefull and beautiful places we have ever seen and it was so hard to leave. The Casa was a quick few minute walk to the amazing beach and nice and close to great food and the little Super (corner store), make sure you hit the Guilded Iguana for some great live music and to the Kaya Sol for some tasty Ceviche!

What a gem in the heart of Playa Guiones. Perfect location, steps to the beach, just a short walk/bike ride to 3 yoga studios and fabulous restaurants. The apartment was very comfortable and the pool and garden were perfect after a long day at the beach. Christina and Ron were very helpful and made our stay even more enjoyable. We are only hours back from our trip and are already planning when we can return to this perfect spot.

This place is more beautiful than the pictures show, it is like paradise. Grounds are meticulously kept, the pool is wonderful (salt water), and the apt is adorable. Ron and Christina are perfect hosts and their friends are really sweet. They introduced us to Anton Kast - the German butcher who delivers the best pate and grass fed beef of the back of his truck. They took us around town and also made us the most delicious chicken in peanut sauce for dinner. We loved them! Christina is GORGEOUS and Ron is like "Popeye" - He leaves early morning to go out to sea and fish in a Kayak that only "007" would have. His friends are the same way - One of them is a Kayak guide on the river - let's just call him TARZAN! We surfed, we walked all over, we biked and then wound up in the pool everyday. We ate at Kaya Sol ( great food) and some other restaurants there (avoid Casa Tucan) and we shopped at the mini super. Our driver (who Ron and Christina arranged) picked us up at the Sheraton Garden Hotel where our adventure began. He didn't speak English and our Spanish is not worth commenting on BUT we saw our first monkeys and he took us to the mega super store! Make sure you walk to Olga's for some red snapper and meet the Chef from Texas! You will have the most amazing view and the most amazing food. It is down the beach and through a path. Oh and speaking of the beach - it is a short walk and pristine. There is nothing commercial - very peaceful, the water is warm. The surf is for everyone - beginners too. The occasional vendors have great stuff and they give you credit - if you don't have money today you can pay tomorrow. TIP: if you buy the round candle holders - wrap them in your bathing suit tops to bring them home safe and sound. We rented a car one day and drove down to Samara and watched the world go by one day. Ron gave us a hand drawn map the best tip on a restaurant that overlooked the entire Harbor area. We also saw our first crocodile! Then we rented a car to drive back up towards Tamarindo on our way home!!!!! Ron gave us a hand drawn map (Yes another hand drawn map!) to get back along the coast and WHAT an ADVENTURE!! WE HAD A BLAST AND STILL HAVE THE MAP :) Um...did I say hand drawn map...Awesome! What else can I say - it was the best vacation we have ever had and with the nicest people we have ever met. A million thank you's to Ron and Christina. We are definately going back as soon as we can.

Christina and Ron were great hosts, providing tons of information on surf, neighborhood, Nosara happenings, balanced with nice privacy, given we had the bottom floor of the house. Great location, easy walk to food, drink, beach. We would definitely stay there again.

Casa Christina is a lovely, comfortable apartment set in a gorgeous Costa Rican garden. From the outside dining room you look out on a swimming pool and beautiful native trees and flowers. The beach is a five minute walk away and offers miles of strolling, shell picking and surf watching. One of the nicest things about the location of Casa Christina is that you never really need a car because great restaurants, shops and yoga classes are all a walk or bike ride away. The owners are wonderful hosts, always willing to share their local knowledge and surf savvy, a great presence in their upstairs home but never intrusive. They maintain the apartment in excellent condition at all times. This spot is perfect for solo travelers, friends, couples and families.

We had a great week on Playa Guiones at Casa Christina. It's a well equipped unit, with everything you could want. The unit is in great condition, is really comfortable, and has a nice porch out front where you can hang out and drink your cerveza, coconut, or your mango smoothie. The unit is surrounded by an impeccably landscaped yard, and has a private pool for your use. It's just a few minutes from the beach as well... we basically spent our vacation on the beach or in this beautiful place! The owners are wonderful hosts as well. They made sure we were taken care of from beginning to end, and helped us with our travel plans when we needed it. I can't recommend this place enough - the best I can do is say that when we go to Costa Rica again, we'll stay here.

Just returned from a week at Casa Christina. The house is more beautiful in person than in the pics. The landscaping is amazing with lush jungle plants and brightly colored flowers. The saltwater pool is the perfect place to jump in to cool down from the jungle steam. The location is PERFECT. Within a 3 minute walking distance, there was the beach, the Frog Pad (business center where i made calls to the US), the Gilded Iguana Hotel & Bar (bartenders make great drinks and teach Spanish slang), the mini-super (breakfast items, soda, snacks), Hotel Kaya Sol (great food), and much more. The owners, Christina and Ron, have stocked the house with all the conveniences (wi-fi, full kitchen, tons of towels, AC in bedroom, ceiling fans all over). Christina and Ron (and Rigo, El Perro) were very friendly and extremely helpful in planning our vacation. I wanna go back tomorrow!

Owner response: Thank you Yoon for the fabulous review! We really enjoyed having you and Theresa stay with us! We have just begun remodeling the bathroom and upgrading the bedding as well. We are constatly improving the amenities and take great pride in making your vacation as comfortable as possible. As the season continues with nice sunny days and occaisonal afternoon and evening rain showers, the garden is bursting with new flowers and the plants are getting bigger and greener right before our eyes! We look forward to seeing returning and new clients this coming season!

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks at Casa Christina, and loved it. The downstairs rental unit is very private & comfortable, including a fully appointed kitchen with views of the landscaped grounds which are lush & lovely. It's a short walk to the surf down a fairly private road. We enjoyed the large private patio, along with a pool that was only steps away from the door. The owners were gracious hosts, not intrusive, but always available if we needed help or advice -- and genuinely concerned for our comfort. We are regular visitors to Nosara, & have tried many different lodgings. In our opinion, Casa Christina is a little gem -- hard to beat for value, comfort & tropical tranquility.

Owner response: We now have remodeled the bathroom with new tile and paint! This season will also repaint the bedroom and kitchen along with a new refrigerator and stove/oven. The two year landscape project is winding up this week with the addition of 60 coffee plants under the banana trees, more ground cover around the pool and papaya trees throughout the garden. Definitely a tranquil, tropical paradise!

My boyfriend and I spent one week in this cute house. We wish we could stay longer ... The house looks actually better in real than on the pictures! The house was clean, nicely furnished, walking distance with your board to the beach!!! Owners are very polite and helpful. We rent the boards at Juan Surt shop for $80 per week. We also rent quads for one day and we did the Zip Line, it was so much fun(if you are OK with hights). We rent a car for week from Budget at the airport. Please, make a sure that it's everything allright with the car. They charged us for windshield because there was tinytiny scratch. If you rent a car from National you can return it in Nosara ... I would highly recommend this house for your vacations!! Feel free to contact me! Enjoy your staying :-) Andrea
