Lopez Island house description

With original 120 year old island fir floors, wainscoted walls and old cylinder glass windows, this is one of the last remaining farmhouses on the island. Recently revived (not remodeled) to keep the ambience and character of its age, The Harbor House provides plenty of room for family and friends.

Water views abound from nearly every point in this house. Sit out on the front porch on a Summer evening and you will likely be rewarded with a spectacular sunset, as you watch boats tootling about in the bay.

Bicycle, kayak rentals and shopping in Lopez Village are all within 1.5 miles.

Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: We have lived on Lopez Island since 1974. We knew from the moment we stepped off the ferry in August of '74 that this was going to be home! We have started several businesses on the island and have owned and operated The Galley Restaurant and Lounge (which is adjacent to the Harbor House) since 2001. Kim is an artist, musician. scavenger and renovator. Jeff is a restauranteur, drummer and workaholic. We have two grown children and 2 adored grandchildren. Life is good!

Why the Owner Chose Lopez Island:
We have long admired this house - one of the few remaining older homes on the island. It was built circa 1890 - 1895 and is listed in the Washington State Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation. It remains intact with virtually no interior/exterior changes to its structure. With upkeep, maintenance and revival, our intention is to maintain the integrity and charm of this old house.

Ambience of an old house, rich with its surroundings and history. Access to Fisherman Bay, use of dock and mooring buoys (make prior arrangements if you have a boat), beach.
