We stayed at the condo in March 2010. It was perfect for our needs. The price was right. I found the listing descriptions and photos accurate. Condo had everything we needed. The complex is right on the beach - we got to see the turtles every morning. It is a great base to explore the island. We would stay there again. Thank you!

MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE STAY 2 TIMES AT THIS CONDO. THE LAST TIME WAS THIS LAST APRIL AND WE BROUGHT OUR 2 YEAR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER AND SHE HAD THE TIME OF HER LIFE. MY FAVORITE MEMORY ARE THE SEA TURTLES. THEY COME RIGHT UP ON THE BEACH AND SUN BATHE WITH YOU. WHEN WE TELL PEOPLE ABOUT OUR STAY WE ALWAYS TELL OUR FRIENDS IT'S A GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY, NOTHING FANCY BUT VERY COMFORTABLE. I WORK FOR AN AIRLINE AND HAVE VISITED MANY PLACES AROUND THE WORLD BUT THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I HAVE BEEN TO TWICE. I HOPE TO GO BACK TO THIS SAME CONDO FOR FUTURE VISITS.

We stayed at this condo in July of this year and were very happy with it. It was clean, comfortable and a great price. The BBQ on the beach was really nice, and sitting on the beach and watching the beautiful sunsets was a favorite memory. The owner was more than helpful in answering our questions before we left and her friend who was there when we arrived was also friendly and helpful. Although this condo was not right on the beach, the location is great for anything you are planning to do while in Kona.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to a friend or relative. Try 'U TOP IT' restaurant for a great breakfast while you are in Kona. Aloha!

My husband and I stayed a week here and were very happy to come across such a comfortable, clean and affordable oceanfront Kona condo. The location is terrific, on Ali'i Drive, close to town, restaurants and the daily farmers market for the freshest fruits and veggies. We grilled every night on the gas grills while watching the sunset and the turtles. I really have to mention the sea turtles. They are everywhere, climbing the tidal pool lava rocks, swimming , even sunbathing along side you on the sand! But back to the condo. I came back to VRBO wanting to return here soon and read the previous review and couldn't believe her remarks were of the same place we stayed! In fact , we were the previous guest before her stay. We were in the same kitchen drawers, same sofa and Never saw any traces of mice or droppings.!! The condo was clean and nicely furnished. I did not use the dishwasher or even tried it. There was a dish rack and dish soap as we washed our dirty dishes after each use. As for the dryer, we were forewarned it didn't dry quickly, but went downstairs to the laundromat and dried for a buck.. No big deal ! And yes, the large patio did overlook the parking lot from 3 floors up, instead of the ocean, but the volcano mountain view was nice. We were not bothered by noise from below. Overall, We hope to return soon. No place else can you stay, oceanfront, at this price, the price for a week that you would pay for just a couple nights anywhere else in Beautiful Kona Hawaii !!!!

We stayed at this condo from June 20th to July 11th 2010. At first glance, right after we came in the unit it seemed clean and in good shape, though not updated at all. But when I opened the bottom 2 kitchen drawers to get a place mat and a kitchen towel I found mice droppings; as well as when I pulled the sleeper sofa (droppings on the mattress cover). I sent an email to the owner right away, then put all the things in those 2 drawers, and the bedding, in the washer to clean them up. That's how I found out that the dryer wasn't working. While they were washing, I loaded the dishes in the dishwasher to sanitize them, since mice run over everything. The dishwasher isn't draining the dirty water, so that's not working either. I called the owner, left a message, then her daughter, left another message, then the owner again. I finally got a hold of her. The response was: "Oh, I gave up on the dishwasher a long time ago, and I don't know what's wrong with the dryer. I've been an airline employee for many years, traveled extensively, and there are many places without a dishwasher, just boil some water and do the dishes by hand. And go downstairs to the dryer, it's only $1.25 per load. And go get some mice poison if you think there's a mouse in there, I haven't seen any last time I was over there.... Look in the phone book for (...I forgot the name of the repair person) and call him to see what's wrong. The property management company I was using went out of business about a year ago!" I guess my comments are that after trying to get these things resolved, nothing ever got fixed. Not after a few days, not after 3 weeks. So, if you don't mind all these, or the street noise, or the unit overlooking the service parking lot where all the garbage trucks pull in, as well as all the maintenance people/contractors, making lots of noise, then at least you make an informed decision. Oh, and thank God the condo complex pest control service happened to stop by and spray for ants, because there are "ghost ants" all over the kitchen and bathroom. Spraying helped some, but they came back in the bathroom. The pest control guy recommended sealing a hole under the kitchen sink to keep mice out, I told the owner, but nothing was done by the time we left. The hot water isn't going to last for more than 10 minutes. The owner said I'm getting an amazing deal and I would have probably been better off at the Hilton. I paid exactly how much she asked for in the ad.
