Why the Owner Chose Blowing Rock

Purchased for weekend getaways from the hustle and bustle of big city life. Within easy driving distance of home, but offers an experience that is truly transcendent.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Peaceful and quiet, the cabin provides a break from the heat and high humidity of Charlotte summers. An amazing place to watch snow fall while nestled in front of the warm fireplace. Summer activities include hiking area trails or just walking the neighborhood, playing in the park in downtown Blowing Rock, or horseback riding. Winters are spent skiing, shopping, and snuggling up.

Great Vacation Cabin

Guest: Debbie (Asheboro, NC)
Date of Stay: 07/04/11 Review Submitted: 07/17/11

Our family loved your cabin and had a great week! Even though it rained daily--not all day long, but everyday--we enjoyed our stay. Your cabin had everything needed and was very clean. I especially appreciated how clean all of the cookware and dishes were and we had everything we needed to cook. It is a very comfortable cabin in a great community. We loved the July 4th fireworks show! Having the fireworks right there was a plus because we always enjoy fireworks no matter where we are during the 4th and we didn't have to go far to see them. Our four-legged family members enjoyed their stay as well especially the cool mountain air. We hope to return again!

Owner response:Thanks so much for the stay, and for the kind review! We offer discounted rates to repeat guests, so we hope you'll stay with us again!

Wonderful location, wonderful cabin

Guest: Richard (Indian Trail, North Carolina)
Date of Stay: 05/06/11 Review Submitted: 06/01/11

A great Swiss style A-frame cabin. Our boys loved playing in the streams that run next to the cabin, we loved sitting on the deck listening to the running water, it was very relaxing. The cabins location along with all the other cabins in this area appear to have been carefully thought out and placed at just the perfect spots to maximum the mountain experience. Inside the cabin was just as nice, recently up dated bathrooms, cable, wi/fi and a flat screen television. It felt as if we were staying as a guest at someones home not in a rental. Everything inside the cabin was ready just as it had been described by the owner. We had a great time.

Wonderful Place to stay

Guest: Jackie & Michael U.K. (United Kingdom)
Date of Stay: 01/20/11 Review Submitted: 02/10/11

Our family stayed in this beautiful cabin from 01/20/2011 to 01/24/2011. We arrived late evening to a lovely warm welcoming home. The kitchen was very well equipped and laid out. The whole cabin was very clean and well maintained, a real home-from-home. We took our two young grandsons (who live in Florida) skiing for the first time to Appalachian Ski Mountain. They loved the snow, and did really well on skis. On our last day we took the sledges from the cabin to Beech Mountain - this proved a great hit with the adults and children! The owner was absolutely brilliant - answering all my pre-holiday queries promptly by email. He also gave us driving directions from Charlotte airport to the cabin, together with route instructions to Harris Teeters in Boone on the way. I would definately recommend this property to anyone, we all loved the cosiness inside and the beautiful deck area outside. Its in a very peaceful and safe environment and very relaxing. My eldest grandson (aged 5) especially enjoyed "exploring" in the woods that surround the cabin with his Grandad & Daddy. We would love to go back again in the future.

Wonderful Weekend

Guest: Roxi (Wilson, NC)
Date of Stay: 01/28/11 Review Submitted: 01/31/11

We stayed at this cabin for the weekend of Jan. 28 (which was my birthday) and went tubing at Hawk's Nest about 15 mins away. Had a great time. The kitchen was well stocked. Cabin was very comfy and cozy. Loved the fireplace. You have neighbors but don't know they're there. Quiet and peaceful. Felt very safe in gated environment. Will definately recommend this cabin to friends and family and when we decide to visit that area again I would like to stay in same cabin.

Fabulous Winter Holiday

Guest: Family of Four (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Date of Stay: 12/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/06/11

My family and I stayed in this cabin over the Christmas holiday. We had a blast and a white christmas with all the snow that came in. The cabin had all the accomodations needed to make my family feel at home. The fireplace was fantastic and the location of the cabin was within arms reach of all the surrounding towns. The property was clean and well maintained and the owner was helpful with any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this property to friends or relatives. We had a blast and would definitely look to return to this property again.

Beautiful Setting to Relax and Chill Out

Guest: Teri (South Florida)
Date of Stay: 10/17/10 Review Submitted: 10/27/10

My husband, Mark, and I stayed at this cabin for 6 days in October, 2010, just in time for the beautiful autumn leaves. The house is located in a secure, gated community with friendly, helpful personnel at the guard gate. Yet the environs feel completely private and secluded. It was quiet and we were not even aware that we had neighbors. One morning, we saw a flock of wild turkeys behind the house. The cabin was clean with comfortable bedding. The kitchen and bathrooms were surprisingly well equipped for a rental house, with some of the supplies and amenities that one would normally expect only from a hotel. We enjoyed watching cable t.v. and DVD's on the flat screen t.v. and we made dinner on the charcoal grill every night. The propane heater in the living room works very well. The owners gave us their cell phone numbers and invited us to call should the need arise, but with the "Helpful Hints" that they had emailed us in advance, all went smoothly and we did not need anything more. We left North Carolina for our Florida home feeling relaxed and refreshed. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others. Teri

Best Cabin in a Wonderfull Community

Guest: Daniel (Farmville, NC)
Date of Stay: 10/08/10 Review Submitted: 10/11/10

One of the great things about this cabin that is not mentioned in the description is the awesome view of Grandfather Mountain on the drive down Cherry Street. A much unexpected but appreciated surprise. The cabin had everything you could possibly desire for a Blue Ridge vacation. Location was perfect for trips into Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Linville. The cabin is also not far at all from a highly recommendable restaurant, The Game Keeper, on Shulls Mill Road. The staff at the Guard’s gate is very friendly and helpful. The microwave did trip the circuit breaker a few times, but the walk down to the basement was kind of fun after seeing the tree trunk still in the ground under the house. The property owners keep this place very clean and the decor is very comfortable. We are absolutely coming back next year!

Perfect!

Guest: HalfMileTrack (Concord, NC)
Date of Stay: 04/02/10 Review Submitted: 04/05/10

A beautiful and comfortably furnished Swiss style A-frame cabin safely located in a secure gated community. Cabins are situated along steep windy roads through a forested mountainside in such a way to afford complete privacy. Drinking my morning coffee as the rising sun warmed the wrap around deck, while listening to the water rushing through the brook and over the waterfall immediately behind the cabin was exactly the tranquility I was seeking. I would certainly recommend this chalet to anyone!
