My friend and I could not have felt more welcomed by our hosts. The apartment is beautifully furnished, clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The added offer of a boat tour along the coast was a delightful surprise. All in all, a great introduction to Dauphin Island. Highly recommend this property and the host owners.

Buddy and Janie are exceptional people and the best hosts ever. If you do not want southern hospitality at it's best, don't show up! Could not have had a better vacation for the whole family. Thanks a ton for making our trip so great. They even called to make sure we made it home safe after our trip. We will definitely be back to visit.

The property is beautiful, the location nicely central, and the apartment is wonderfully comfortable….truly a home away from home. The BEST amenity by far is the hosts, we have stayed in a number of VRBO locations over the years, we have to say that this time we felt like we were visiting long lost relatives that were delighted to meet you. The pool table downstairs and the bikes provided delightful diversions and allowed us to stay well occupied despite the on/off rain. Thank you SO much to Jane, Buddy, and Jerrod for the amazing hospitality, we can’t wait to visit again.

We were looking for lodging for a week to attend the Bowl game in Mobile but found so much more than lodging. Our hosts were so kind and gracious, and went way above and beyond what we expected. Taratoo is much more than lodging. There is a pool table, bicycles, fishing poles, floating stuff for swimmers--probably more that I didn't see. They even fed us a few times! There's lots of nearby attractions. The beach is nearby, historic Fort Gaines, marine Estuarium, fishing, Audobon bird sanctuary, USS Alabama. The accommodations are as nice as any hotel room I've ever stayed in, but offers so much more than a hotel experience. Four of us stayed a week with three more added for two nights. Two were elderly. I would love to go back!

I was hesitate about coming to Dauphine Island when it became obvious that Lee was coming too. Our family decided to go anyway. This was our first vacation in two years. We saw lots and lots of rain. The rain naturally kept us inside more than normal. The apartment was nice and was a good size for our party of four. We hung out with Buddy and Janie, they were very friendly. Even with, Lee our first time visit to Dauphine Island was good. We enjoyed using their bikes and taking a bike ride between rain bans. As luck would have it, the Audubon Bird Sanctuary suffered a fire the day prior to our stay. It was closed the whole five days. We did visit the Estuarium and it was well worth the money. My kids loved the "Goat trees".The Lighthouse Bakery was good. We will be back to the island. Nice small town with a peaceful attitude

Great hosts! Made us feel right at home, apartment was well kept, very clean, and very quiet. We came here on our honeymoon and will definitely be going back. Dauphin Island is a great place to relax, not a lot of touristy things, not a lot of tourists.

Our first trip together to the gulf....an amazing experience! Tara Too was a really comfortable 'home base' to explore the island and surrounding area. Nicely furnished, VERY comfortable beds, clean, and equipped with everything anyone would need -- kitchen fully outfitted, linens, towels, free wifi, etc. Beautiful beaches within very close distance, numerous fishing opportunities, bird sanctuary, civil war history, like I said, amazing experience! I've only waited this long to leave a review because I'm greedy!!! ....didn't want to give away our 'secret' getaway spot! Buddy and Janie are exceptional hosts --- Thank you guys SO MUCH for taking such good care of us! I can guarantee we'll be back! :-)

It was a wonderful weekend. You couldn't meet two sweeter people - the Thompsons are such great hosts! The place is much more quiet than staying at a larger condo and very cozy. Next time our family will have to stay longer!

This Vermonter sure enjoyed 5 wonderfu days at Tara Too and Dauphin Island. The Thompsons are great hosts and their spacious , clean, and totally complete apartment is an excellent place to enjoy and appreciate all this island beauty. Not only is the facility all that you could hope for at a very reasonable price, but the kitchen even comes complete with recipes for some of the seafood dishes that makes this island very special. Thank you Thompsons for you fine hospitality!

The week we spent on October here with our kids from Ohio was the best vacation we have had in recent times. Our hosts, Buddy and Janie Thompson were most cordial and welcomed us as part of their family. We hope to return again.

Thanks for treating us like family! This is our third year to visit DI, and even with the beaches closed for part of our visit, it has been our best visit yet. You have a great place and really know how to entertain. Thanks for sharing your home with us. We will be back. Lindy,Collin,,Jeffrey, Morgan, Kara, Carson, Landon and Whitney
