Our wonderful English speaking agent Giuseppe Dini will meet you at the town car park (free parking) and escort you to our apartment just inside the walls - no cars are allowed inside. You climb two sets of stairs to our penthouse apartment which stretches the full width of the building right on the walls; the two front windows give superb views across the Tiber valley to the distant Appenine mountains.
The great living room-sitting room/dining room/kitchen area is tastefully furnished with medieval tiles and timbered roof, plus a fine painting by contemporary Anghiari artist Vicenzo Calli. A door leads to a bedroom with the same spectacular views and en suite bathroom, all beautifully tiled by Italian craftsmen. Downstairs there is a second half bathroom, plus washer and dryer.
Fans help keep the place cool in summer, and central heating with radiators keeps it warm in winter.
The housekeeper Fiametta lives in the apartment below ours, and changes the sheets and towels. She is very helpful in case of any problems. Anything she cannot solve will be dealt with by Giuseppe quickly.

Year Purchased: 2006
My twin sister and I fell in love with this place and have spent two years restoring it to what we think is perfection. We love restoring old buildings, and like to fit all modern facilities without changing the historical authenticity of the place. Since we now own three apartments in the same building, we have been able to arrange wonderful family gatherings at Christmas, Easter and during the summer months. We are now retired university teachers, so go there frequently, since any time of year has its own rewards.
Why the Owner Chose Anghiari
The 800 year old walled town on the Tuscany/Umbrian borders has earned its place in the Italian register of "The 100 Most Beautiful Small Towns of Italy". We chose Anghiari because it is so beautiful and unspoiled by too many tourists. The local people are so friendly to Americans because they themselves have family members living in the USA. Anghiari has two museums, medieval churches, six good restaurants, all the shops you might need, and good bus services to bigger towns like San Sepulchro and Arezzo, which has fast train services to Florence and Milan and Rome.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
The streets are impeccably clean, and totally safe for wandering through at any time of night or day. Because there are no cars within the medieval walls, the nights are very quiet and peaceful. You wake to the sun streaming through the shutters, and the cooing of doves. The first person to wake up walks to the bakery 500 yards away to collect hot croissants. There are many cafes with wonderful coffee. Every Wednesday the country people set up their market stalls in the main square, so you can buy local meats, cheeses, and vegetables and fruit, a gourmet's delight.
