Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle, the most famous shopping streets of the 8th arrondissement, Le Franklin Roosevelt is the perfect pied-a-terre from which to explore and enjoy Paris. As well as a stone’s throw from the famous Avenue Montaigne and its spectacular fashion stores, the apartment is across the street from the Grand Palais, right in the middle between the fountains of the Rond Point des Champs Elysees and the Pont des Invalides. Also within a 10 minute walk are the beautiful Tuileries Gardens, Place de la Concorde, L’Arc de Triomphe and les Invalides.
The exceptional Haussmannian style building was built around 1860 by Napoleon the 3rd for one of his mistresses. The second floor is the étage noble with the highest ceilings in the building at roughly 4 meters. The newly renovated apartment brings back the initial grandeur of the volume of the space. The original wood floors were uncovered from many years of carpeting and the unique ceiling moldings lovingly restored after many years of being buried under dropped ceilings.
For those looking to step right into chic Parisian life, L’Avenue restaurant, a famous Costes Brothers eatery is around the corner on Avenue Montaigne. The beautiful George V hotel is great for people watching and a glass of champagne while sitting amongst the breathtaking flower arrangements. Famous for its role in Sex and the City, the Plaza Athenée hotel is also around the corner, noticeable for the wonderful red geraniums on each balcony.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the fabulous open air market at the Pont d’Alma is only a ten-minute walk from the apartment. A walk across the bridge will take you to the open air market of rue Cler.
The apartment is a mix of late 19th century architecture and contemporary design with modern amenities. Everything is brand new and newly refurbished. There is a spacious living room and dining room area with a separate kitchen. The bedroom has 2 closets and a work space with an ensuite bathroom.
