We stayed here last year, in 2010; and returned to find it in much the same condition. We love our time each summer at Surfside, as it's quiet, not too busy, and affordable for a family of 5. Beatiful View is EXACTLY as it's stated to be in the description. No qualms about recommending it to friends in Lubbock.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We just returned from such a fantastic vacation in Surfside. We loved " Beautiful View" ! The home was clean, and plenty of room for all 7 of us. The small area of Surfside was perfect for some quiet time playing dominoes, and enjoying the uncrowded beaches but also close enough for a day trip to Galveston for all of its attractions. In Surfside, we loved the JettyShack and the Jetty itself gave beautiful sunsets! Can't wait to go back again!

Beacon Light was the best beach house we have ever stayed in, and we highly recommend it for everyone's travel destination. The house is beautiful and it is very well maintained. We didn't have any problems. The beach view is incredible. My sister's family was in Life is Good and they were very happy with it. Their dryer did stop working and a brand new one was brought right away. You can't ask for better service than that.

Our third stay - our favorite vacation destination

We spent Easter weekend in Beautiful View and had a great stay. This is our third time staying here. It's so nice and relaxing that we are drawn back here again and again. The view is indeed beautiful. It's quiet except for the sound of the surf. All the amenities--even more than the website lists. Close to everything you need, like the Purple Cow. No complaints whatsoever. Looking forward to our next stay.

Great Destination for a family

We took our family fo 5 to Beautiful View for a Monday through Friday rental in late July. The name "Beautiful View" in indeed correct, as you have a great view of the ocean from both the master bedroom and the living room. We enjoyed the two decks, and made the most of our time there watching the stars at night, and the waves all day. There is only a dune with a bridge separting the condo from the beach, so no driving is required to get to the water. With three small kids this was important, and a great perk! The beach is a classic Texas beach, brown sand, and clearish water. Not anything great, but fun all the same! The condo is old, and is one of 10 units. However, the Beautiful View is far and away the nicest of the 10 condos grouped together. We had problems shutting the glass sliding doors, and this was a pain for sure. It's not a reason to not visit, just saying that the entire condo is off-balance and the doors do not shut well all over the unit. It is stocked with everything you will need to cook in the kitchen. Includes a blender and a coffee maker. Everyone at Casa del Mar was great to work with, and responsive to our questions throughout our time. I highly recommend this rental as an economical way to visit the South Texas Beach and enjoy the beautiful view.

We just stayed at this townhouse and will be back again! The proximity to the beach/water and sitting on the deck watching the Gulf waves makes it a great place to stay and just "drop out for the week". We were able cook our own meals which saved money on our limited budget. (we also had a great hamburger at the Jetty Shack) The kids said it was the best vacation they ever had. We will be return customers to Beautiful View!

My husband, myself, our adult son and his girlfriend just returned from a too short getaway at Beautiful View in Surfside, TX. We found the view and the location to be just as the owner advertised. We spent many hours enjoying the deck watching the waves and gazing at the stars. The beach here is really quite nice and we have seen some beautiful beaches:-) The sand is not white and the water not blue but it is still lovely. We enjoyed walking down the near empty beach, we almost felt like we had our own secret hideaway. The townhouse itself is nice enough. The owners have stocked it with most everything you could possibly need while away. This was our first time to rent a beach house and we and felt like it was a good experience. Surfside condo

VRBO: We have used your site for travel accommodations a number of times and have always been pleased with the facilities. But, our last accommodations, VRBO #261461 Surfbeach, Texas, were a totally different situation. Compared with our other ventures with VRBO, this one left a great deal to be desired. The description of the accommodations did not always fit the reality. On the positive side, the beach was magnificent as was the view of both the beach and the bay. The kitchen is very well equipped (although the rusting pots should be replaced). The linen is of good quality. We were surprised that we had to bring our own towels. Although there are eight units in the complex, we were never bothered by any noise coming from the other units. Some of our concerns included the following: The village itself offers very few services; one definitely needs a car for any activity not related to the beach. This area of the coast is well known as ideal location for birding. This is one of the the reasons that we choose this area. We were surprised at the lack of information available to better acquaint us with these natural activities. The VRBO site describe this location as the Beautiful View “with Unobstructed View of the Beach and Gulf”. Indeed, such is the case. However, the patio door-windows were so covered with sea spray that we had difficulty seeing that view. If you are going to advertise that the unit has four balconies, then one would assume that the renter would have access to four balconies. The bay side door providing a view from the dining room had a“DO NOT OPEN” sign on it. The patio doors on the beach side were very difficult to open and, in fact, the other members of our group could only enjoy the patio if I were there to open the door for them. The cleaning lady said that she had informed the owner of this problem; but, nothing was done to fix it while we were there. According to the contract signed to rent this unit, one is expected to wash and dry the sheets and pillow cases before leaving. This was a problem for us because of the necessity of catching an early flight. The renters before us obviously had the same problem. They had washed and folded the sheets as instructed, but left them for us to finish the drying process.. (Please note that our contact at Corona Del Mar dealt with our problem very satisfactorily). The arrangement of the three bed in one room sets up difficult situation and going to bed almost becomes a hazardou

Owner response:Surfside is a lovely village to getaway for a relaxing vacation. It is a small community. ( It is not on a boardwalk that has everything within walking distance). ~~ Sea spray on the windows is a part of nature as "Beautiful View" is right on the beach. Each of our beachfront rentals are supplied with a squeegee to wipe the spray from windows to enjoy the Gulf/water view. ~~ Faulty I-Beams have been replaced under all our townhome units so it is easier to now open all the sliding glass doors. ~~ As noted on our site, we only supply bed linens for the largest bed in each bedroom. Towels are on the "What You May Want to Bring List" we supply to all tenants. ~~ Visitor bureaus in Brazoria and Galveston counties are very happy to send information in advance about history, attractions and natural activities in the area. ~~ Thank you for noting that Corona Del Mar dealt with your problem very satisfactorily. 8-)

Perfect location and the weather did not disappoint. We were lucky to have sunny weather and the walks on the beach were relaxing and much needed. The sunrise pictures I took were breathtaking and made me feel like a photographer. The townhome is very neat and had everything we needed including wireless Internet. (We got to post Facebook photos while still on our trip!) The office was very friendly and responded to our request promptly. It's a little crowded for 8 people but very comfortable for 6. I would definitely recommend this unit to my friends.

My husband and I rented this beautiful beach house for the week. It was great! We had great time fishing, the great view in the mornings and watching the sunset was the best. This is a just a little piece of paradise and I can’t wait till next summer to enjoy the beach again.
