We stayed at Bill and Kathy's condo with 2 other couples and had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the awesome views from the spacious lanai. We were very happy we chose Kauai for our first experience in the Hawaiian Islands! The island adventures are endless and ending each day in the comfort of such a beautiful condo was exactly what we needed after exciting days kayaking, zip lining snorkeling, hiking, you name it! Thanks Bill and Kathy for opening your condo to us. It was especially nice to meet Kathy while she was on the island for an unexpected visit to her restaurant Pizzetta.

We stayed in Bill and Cathy's place and enjoyed it very much. I was glad my friend found this place. Every morning we would eat breakfast on the wrap around lanai and watch the whales breach and fin slap. We even saw 2 whales breach together. Excellent location close to Poipu beach which has great snorkling. Place was very clean and fridge was stocked with condiments. We also left some things for others to use. It was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Bill called us to make sure everything was fine with our stay. I would highly recommend this place. Would stay here again. It was very hard to leave.

We have been in awe sitting on the deck,watching whale after whale jump....schools of dolphins swimming and jumping....seeing turtles up on shore all the while listening to the sounds of Hawaiian music playing on the cd player and enjoying a cup of coffee!! Also...waking up and opening our eyes to the ocean and palm trees swaying in the wind! This has been such a great place to stay....we all have enjoyed every minute of it! Can't wait to come back again....Thanks Bill for this awesome place to stay!! I will be recommending it to all of our friends and family heading to Kauai!

Birthday Celebration Week in Paradise

Our first trip to Kauai was to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday and what a wonderful time we had! This condo was perfect for us and the other two couples that joined us for the week. The photos show exactly what you get. The owner was very responsive to e-mails as well as phone calls, We started every day with coffee on the lanai watching the waves crash on the rocks below and watching the turtles pass by as we planned our day's activites. The condo is in a great location, close to everything. My husband really enjoyed running up the beach to Beach House Beach. We also took daily walks to the nearby beaches. So beautiful! We ended the day with cocktails while watching beautiful sunsets, again from the lanai. We never used the inside dining table! The condo is beautifully remodeled with modern furnishings, granite countertops, tile and bamboo floors. It was very clean with comfortable beds and linens.The kitchen had everything we needed. (we stocked up on food/drink at Costco on our way from the airport) There were some condiments already in the condo, as well as a lovely welcome basket left by the owner. Beach towels, hairdryers and even a magnifying makeup mirror (for those of us with aging eyes!) were supplied. My favorite memory is sitting up every morning, looking to my left at the sunrise and straight ahead at the swaying palms overlooking the ocean. We are planning to bring our son on our next trip to Kauai and will definitely stay in this beautiful condo!

Let there be Whales!!

Look at all the other reviews and just double their great comments for us and our friends! This condo is amazing - the location, the conveniences, the view, and the very friendly and helpful owners. Two floors and a loft on the third floor. Two bedrooms with 2 baths on the second floor. The main floor with kitchen, living/dining room, half bath and laundry is immaculate! Marble tile floors, granite countertops, SS appliances, all overlooking the ocean with a lanai on 2 sides of the living room. It's just beautiful and we're thrilled to have found it! We booked the condo along with another couple for a week in March. Bill told us we should see whales, and boy was he right! The four of us spent hours out on the impressive lanai in the morning and in the evening, and saw whale spouts or breeching whales every time we went out there. We also saw spinner dolphins and of course Honu, the green sea turtles in the surf near the rocky shoreline just below us. We enjoyed preparing our meals with fresh produce we picked up at the farmer's market in Koloa Town on Sunday. Although there is a lovely dining area, we never sat there once for a meal - we always took our plates out on the lanai. (Hey, we can eat in the dining room at home!) We listened to lots of Hawaiian music from their collection of CDs and even found time to turn on the big screen TV on occasion to catch the news. Comfortable furniture, cozy bedrooms with comfy beds, plenty of towels including beach towels, free WiFi, our own washer & dryer, and fabulous sunsets... What more could we ask? Our only regret is that we only stayed for ONE week!! All four of agreed that this is the best spot on Kauai! Thanks Bill and Cathy for sharing your wonderful home away from home. Mahalo and Aloha! PS... A shopping tip: Groceries are expensive in Hawaii. Stock up on some food items at Costco near the airport in Lihue where milk was $4.65 per gallon instead of $9.00 at the local market. (Check the refrigerator before you shop for the smaller items.. We found plenty of condiments, etc. left by other people.) And Costco gasoline is the cheapest you will find anywhere on the Island. Plenty of places to eat out nearby if you don't want to prepare all of your own meals. Check out Poipu Tropical Burgers for an unforgettable burger experience! And Pizzetta in Koloa is great too! Have fun... and don't forget, you're on Hawaiian time now.... Relax! Aloha!

Great start for our Marriage!

My wife and I stayed there 11/14-23. Bill started the process with incredible communication and feedback. He was always available for a call or email in the booking process through the end of our stay. We arrived late Sunday and were pleasantly suprised to find the Condo nicer than we expected. Bill and Cathy have created a great living space for their guests to enjoy. Clean bright rooms, clean linens and tasteful decorations. The kitchen had all the appliances, utensils and dinnerware for us to enjoy a meal in. When we were in for the night the DVR was nice to catch up on our shows on the 50" TV also We spent 9 days their exploring the island, we both were new to Kauai and got to see all parts of the island. You are 2 mins from Poipu and Brenneke beaches. If you head up past the Hyatt you are come out at Mahalepu beach only 5mins away. All in all we enjoyed our stay and worth a few extra $$$ compared to other units. The Lanai and the views it provides are a huge bonus to this condo. We got many pictures of the sunsets, flowers and waves crashing. We also were treated to the first few Whales coming in for the migration just before we left. We both highly reccommend a stay, you won't be disappointed. We want to bring our kids back to enjoy and will be calling Bill if we do. Dan & Tina.

My sister and I stayed at Bill's condo November 6-13, 2010. The condo was everything and more!!! It was beautifully decorated with breathtaking views!!! Bill was so very nice and accommodating!! The condo was equipped with everything we needed (i.e. plush towels, soap, shampoo, hairdryer, beach towels, washer & dryer w/starter detergent, dishwasher w/soap, ice maker, full stocked kitchen, free wireless, etc.). The wrap around lanai had deluxe chairs, chaises, taller chairs and tables. There was a TV in every room, but we didn’t use them, because if we weren’t at the beach, we were on the lanai enjoying the ever changing gorgeous vistas (sunrise, sunset, moon and stars). The condo is in a great location, you can even walk to Poipu Beach and it is next to some really pretty walking trails. We were able to see the little sandy island of Poipu Beach from the lanai (certain times of the year, the little sandy island is covered by water). The beds were luxurious and the bathrooms were superior! Everything was very clean! Upscale condo, ocean front location with magnificent views, at a great price! Bill returned our security deposit quickly. We highly recommend Bill and his condo!!

My spouse and I have been to Poipu in the past and have always been pleased with the area. We have stayed at other properties in Poipu but have never stayed at one that offers such serenity and amazing views! When we first contacted Bill (the owner) and he said that the property was "something special" he could not have chosen better words to describe the condo. The owners have thought of all details when it came to this property as everything you need is supplied. This was a big surprise as other places we have stayed in Poipu seemed to 'sugar coat' some of the details. The location and weather was perfect and we cannot wait to return! Best relaxing vacation EVER!

What breathtaking views!

My husband, infant and 2 friends stayed in Bill's condo in July 2010. It was a wonderful experience! Everything went smoothly regarding the payment, deposit, keys, etc. Bill was very helpful up to and during our stay and was "on-call" for any questions we had upon arrival to his beautifully renovated condo. The upgrades the Shynes made to their condo make it truly paradise! It's luxurious! There are so many windows in the condo that one can never forget that they're in tropical Kauai staying on the ocean!! We felt spoiled with the amazing views! The large balcony was a favorite spot of ours to hang out & watch the crashing waves, the canoe team, the coming rain & the rainbows! We saw MANY turtles & sunsets from the balcony! We were able to walk along the ocean 15 minutes to the Hyatt where we had meetings. We enjoyed cooking in the lovely kitchen and watching the huge tv! We also were glad that the Shynes have free long distance phone service and wi-fi internet connection. The bathrooms are beautiful in this three level condo. Another life saver was the washer & dryer! What a bonus to have our own private washer and driver inside the condo! We had fun in the complex's swimming pool. There are very close beaches that offer swimming and boogie boarding. We also visited a nearby beautiful botanical garden (about 8 min. drive from condo). We will definitely rent the Shyne's Poipu condo again without hesitation if we visit Poipu! It was a wonderful experience & we have very fond memories of our stay there! Thanks Shyne's!

A wonderful place in Poipu!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week last spring at this condo in Poipu. Everything about the condo was perfect for us, especially the deck with the view and the condo location (an easy walk to numerous beaches). The place was exactly as the pictures portrayed. We enjoyed the "picture window" in the master bedroom, waking up each morning to a fabulous view and occasional whales/porpoises travelling by. The whole facility was well maintained and very private and quiet. Bill, the owner, was a great person to talk to and made a lot of effort to make sure everything was OK during our stay. Using the condo as a base, we were able to explore the whole island. I heartily recommend this condo as a great getaway for 2 or for the whole family! Note- there are a lot of stairs so may not be suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues.

We had a wonderful time in Kauai. The condo was lovely and the view spectacular! We spent many relaxing hours on the lanai watching whales and turtles and soaking in the atmosphere. It was a great holiday. Thanks you for being such a great host! We always felt we were well taken care of.

We had the best time staying at this wonderful condo and it was so easy to make all the arrangements with Bill (the owner). This is the best condo in the complex I think as it overlooked the ocean, so we saw sea turtles everyday and whales off in the distance from our large balcony. Beautifully redone on the inside from the kitchens to the bathrooms offering everythng we needed for our vacation. Thanks Bill and Kathy and we hope to be back again one day soon.
