Molokai is a quiet, mostly undeveloped island which is outside of the mainstream tourist destinations in Hawaii. Although there is some sightseeing, the west end of Molokai is mostly flat and reminiscent of the Southwest part of the mainland. The main attraction is a string of beaches that extends over four miles, one beach being three miles in length.
There is no fine dining on the island, but there are several small eating establishments, including a variety of takeout options. Basic restaurant fare including pizza, burgers, and "specialty" nights featuring prime rib, Mexican, etc. can be found. Shopping includes a small supermarket, a drug store and bakery, some local markets and other small stores, and a few souvenir shops.
There is a dive shop and several activity organizers which offer horseback riding, ocean kayaking, hiking, and cultural tours. There is a par 3 nine-hole golf course in the center of the island. A few small boats are available for charter to fish and sightsee.
Guests who have enjoyed Molokai the most typically like to cook, relax, read, and explore the beaches and trails on their own. There is some rugged tropical terrain on the island, but it is mostly inaccessible.
