A Christmas to Remember !!!!!

Guest: Rick and Jan (Boston)
Date of Stay: 12/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/15/11

Where to begin ?? Our grown kids are scattered from our Boston home and we wanted to have a memorable holiday where we all could meet in a central spot. Red Hook seemed like an ideal location. After viewing the website, our expectations were very high....and the weekend exceeded those lofty expectations in every way !! The house is very warm and cozy with heat, etc that is far beyond adequate. The fireplace became the "gathering place" and could not have been more perfect. Tons of firewood was provided and we had a 24/7 fire blazing for five days. The house was so well-equipped....everything from flatware to tools to scotch tape to playing cards!! The kitchen was amazing. A real country kitchen with ample seating for a dozen. Our daughter-in-law is 7 mo. pregnant and the ten of us huddle around the kitchen table for a l-o-n-g evening to design and sew a 9-panel quilt for the baby. We will never forget it !! Just like the Waltons :) I would be remiss if I did not mention the astounding cooperation and assistance of the owners. They provided us with tons of helpful information about shopping, restaurants, services, etc On the third day, we were hit with the Blizzard of the Decade !! 20 " !!! We were literally snowed in. Very romantic...and very cozy... but I was worried that we would be stranded there for days. Not to worry !! Within a few hours of the end of the storm, A huge backhoe arrived to clear the road, driveway and cars. VERY impressive. This property is a very, very special place. It was one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of our lives. Sorry for the hyperbole......but every aspect of our stay was amazing. We are very grateful for our "hosts" and we hope to re-visit "our" Holiday House in the future !!

Relax in the country

Guest: David (New York, New York)
Date of Stay: 10/22/10 Review Submitted: 10/26/10

We came to this country-house to escape the city for a weekend. Very close to Manhattan and extremely easy to get to. Tons of activities to do (tennis, basketball, hiking, relaxing). The house was perfect in every way, and the kitchen would make anyone who lives in New York City jealous. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend, and we can't wait to go back.

An Amazing Fall Retreat

Guest: Jennifer (New York, NY)
Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

I recently had the pleasure of staying here with a group of 10 friends, and I can't say enough how beautiful this property is. While the photographs are lovely, the house is even better in person! There were exciting little features around every corner. It was spacious enough to allow our group to retreat to our separate areas of the house, or enjoy time together in common spaces. Highlights included the amazingly spacious and well-equipped kitchen, the fireplace and the bathtubs! A perfect combination of modern amenities in a rural farmhouse The owner was a pleasure to deal with. We exchanged multiple e-mails and she was quick to answer any questions I had on behalf of the group. She was very professional and personable.

Date of Stay: 10/01/10 Review Submitted: 10/03/10

This is an amazing home and property for anyone looking to escape to the country and be in a peaceful and relaxing setting. It has great amenities...the outdoor stone fireplace adds an especially nice touch by allowing you to extend your time outside and in the fresh air on those chilly nights. I highly recommend this vacation home. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Farmhouse Review

Guest: Erin (VT)
Date of Stay: 09/16/10 Review Submitted: 09/21/10

We had a great three day weekend in this spacious farmhouse with lots of land for our young children to explore. The pool was a nice addition as well as the trampoline and tennis courts. The outdoor fire provided for a wonderfully cozy and fun smores experience. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and were not left for wanting anything.

Warm & Wonderful Farmhouse on 65 Acres

Guest: Wendy (West Coast)
Date of Stay: 05/18/10 Review Submitted: 06/27/10

We had a wonderful week at this gorgeous property. The landlord could not have been more helpful, flexible or accommodating. The pictures don't convey all the comfortable extras that one finds in this home. Clearly many good times have been spent there. And we are happy to add ours to the list. We would return in a heat beat if only we didn't live on the West Coast.
