It is 1,000 sq feet, with a beautiful secluded garden situated on 2 acres of gardens and forest. 5 minutes to wonderful swimming beach.
This cottage is very special. Built entirely of a new material called Hempcrete, it is a showcase ‘green building’, and completely free of any toxic materials- an excellent environment for anyone suffering from allergies. Beautiful thick walls ensure a peaceful, quiet sanctuary to recuperate from the thrills and excitement of the Olympic games.

Why the Owner Chose Bowen Island
We built this cottage to develop our Hempcrete material. This is a revolutionary new green building material. The cottage is connected our our own home by a passageway. We also have a farm on the adjacent land.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love the 2.5 acres of pristine woodland area, full of wildlife and privacy. The Island is an idyllic community, with many lovely walking trails and beaches, as well as fine dining and entertainment. We love that in 20 minutes we are in Vancouver! The drive to the Olympics site is just over an hour away-making this a unique and ideal location.
