Perfect for families!! This darling three bedroom, one bath cottage with bright decor is just 1/2 block from the sand in the Pierpont neighborhood. It is just one lane away from Marina Park which features a large children's' playground, pirate ship, and rope pulley. The house is walking distance from shopping and restaurants. Ventura Harbor, gateway to Channel Islands National Park, is 2.76 miles from the house. The historic Ventura Pier is 2.79 miles north along well maintained bike and walking paths.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, and everything you will need to enjoy your stay. The front and rear yards are completely fenced with a lovely front garden and spacious back yard. The back yard features a table with six chairs, umbrella, and fire pit - perfect for roasting marshmallows.

The house has three bedrooms - 1 King, 1 Queen, and 1 with two sets of bunk beds. Beach chairs, boogie boards, and sand toys provided. Linens - sheets & towels - are provided. Free wireless internet in the house.

                    We enjoyed Christina's beach house for the month of March (2012). This house was possibly the best VRBO rental we've had (of 8) so far. It is bright, clean, tastefully decorated and well furnished. The photographs are accurate views of this charming house. I am a cook and was delighted with the well equipped kitchen. The large backyard is a sunny refuge from the often windy beach ( fabulous sand beach a few houses down the lane). We were impressed by the huge television and the vast number of movie channels provided. The spacious and secure garage was perfect for parking our car and bicycles. Marina Park ( 1 block away) was a nice spot to walk our dog. The peaceful neighbourhood was a perfect backdrop for a relaxing holiday. The location was brilliant for touring around Ventura and environs. We enjoyed numerous bicycle rides to Ojai, Oxnard, Santa Paula and up the coast to Carpinteria and beyond. A terrific bike trail allowed us to enjoy a number of rides off road and away from traffic. Any "settling in glitches" were resolved quickly and efficiently by the owner and our deposit was refunded on the spot, as we reluctantly left this lovely vacation rental. This was one of our best cycling holidays ever!

                    Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children.

                    Upon our arrival @ 4pm the cleaning lady was still cleaning. She claimed she was running late because she was being through; however she was not through. She claimed to have moved furniture to clean under, but there was evidence under the furniture (animal toy) that she had not done so. Some of the sheets were put on the bed still damp. Kids beds only had quilts on them no sheets, and the oven was left on self clean so we could not use it for the evening.The rest of our stay was enjoyable...until it was ruined by the owner not giving us our deposit back. She claims we had a cat there four our 5 day 4 night stay. She refuses to believe that we DO NOT own a cat and have not in 20 years! Her lack of finding the real party at fault has left her blaming an innocent family. Its a shame that the owner has chosen to accuse us of lying instead of finding the real truth!I'd recommend this property for...anyone who doesn't care if they don't get their deposit back.

                    Owner response: I strive to keep my beach house well maintained and very clean as does my housekeeper. I use it too! She works diligently to prepare the house for guests. To that end, and because I am allergic to cats, cats are not allowed. In this case, there was animal hair, a wet chew toy, and neighbor reports, all indicating that a cat had been in the house. The housekeeper spent extra time cleaning. We called the next guests to make sure that there were no allergy issues. Since there were not, I waited until the next guests left before cleaning the carpets and washing every piece of bedding in the house. Given all this, I ONLY HELD BACK $100 OF THEIR SECURITY DEPOSIT. If you have any concerns, I would be happy to share the correspondence and proof of mail delivery with you as well as proof of payment of the remainder of the deposit. When you arrive, you will find a clean house with the king and queen beds made up. Because groups bring different numbers of people, the linens for the bunkbeds are kept in the closet depending on need. I have many happy guests who return every year. It is a wonderful house.
