Quietly nestled on the border of the Catskill Mountain Park, this cabin-like home is minutes from the Ashokan Reservoir and many other Catskill hikes and villages. The rental is situated between Catskill towns like Shokan, Phoenicia, and Pine Hill (that offer a variety of mountain shopping, restaurants, and recreation) and the Rondout Valley farm communities of High Falls, Stone Ridge and Rosendale (each with fabulous restaurants, antique shops, farm stands, and outdoor opportunities).
The large sunny deck and screened porch overlooks flower gardens and fruit trees. A variety of wildlife can be viewed, enticing renters to trek further into the Catskill Mountain trails. The quiet solitude and clear starry nights at the property invite guests to relax and take it easy.
The open floor plan of the kitchen and living area allows families and friends to gather for meals and games. The wood stove creates a lovely heat, and the bold tile work creates a sense of being immersed in art. The private bedrooms are very separate and enclosed, with their own European-style bathroom.
Enjoy fall foliage sightseeing, or hiking through autumn colored trails. Close to ski mountains. Another apartment in the building is sometimes rented.

Year Purchased: 2004
I met my wife Nicole while studying communication at Rochester Institute of Technology. We have both worked for nonprofit organizations for over a decade and have published a variety of magazines and newsletters. I have been an editor and writer for years, but have recently been spending my time taking care of local properties, from gardening to carpentry. I love to read, so I frequently pick up the local free publications to understand the world of local events and activities around me.
Why the Owner Chose Accord
We moved to the Hudson Valley after traveling around the US and Canada because we love the natural beauty and the great little towns with wonderful restaurants. We now spend as much time as possible in the surrounding mountain trails and swimming holes, with our two young children. We really enjoy all of the farm stands and focus on local shopping. Each season in the Hudson Valley is more beautiful than the next.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Each time I visit my vacation rental, I see some kind of wildlife (last week a group of wild turkeys strolled across the yard). The quiet woods that surround the house bring me quickly to a state of relaxation. The large deck and screened-in porch both help me to become immersed in fresh air and nature. Nearby trails into the Catskill Mountains afford hours of enjoyment.
