Enjoy the seclusion and magnificent views of Arkansas' tallest mountain, Mount Magazine and surrounding Ouachita Mountain ranges in this large, 2350 sf custom log cabin. There's enough room for a large family reunion and everyone can stay in the same place. A fully equipped kitchen with a huge dining table, chairs and bar stools makes for good memories and much smaller food expenses during your visit. The hot tub is on the lower patio and you can unwind and relax in the bubbles while admiring the mountain or reading a good book. The entertainment area is supplied with a TV/DVD player, a supply of DVDs, CD player and board and card games. A gas grill is just waiting outside for that perfect hamburger cookout.

Sleeping arrangements are: three bedrooms with queen beds, one bedroom with full bed and four full beds in loft. Relive your childhood with a slumber party in the loft! (Thanks, Stephen and crew for the idea!)

155 acres with three stocked ponds (catfish, bass and perch), abundant deer and turkey give opportunities of wildlife viewing, fishing, hiking and exploring.

Nearby areas offer riding trails and ATV trails, so bring your mounts. There is a corral with water and covered area provided for your horses during your stay.

The Blue Mountain Wildlife Demonstration Area is just minutes away for all you field trial enthusiasts! Check out the Booneville website for a list of dates of upcoming events.

Beautiful Blue Mountain Lake is within a 15 minute drive and offers fishing, swimming, hiking and boating. Or, take the drive through Arkansas' own "Paris" to the top of Mt. Magazine, about 30 minutes away. Along the way, enjoy antiquing in Paris, swimming and bird watching at Cove Lake and the amazing bluffs on the way to the lodge where you can dine and look out over Blue Mountain Lake and the River Valley.

Canoeing and kayaking are within one or two hours and make for a great family day trip.

We are centrally located within two hours distance from Fayetteville, Eureka Springs, Little Rock and Hot Springs. Fort Smith is a 45 minute drive and digging for diamonds in Murfreesboro is about 2 1/2 hours away. So, make this your home base to enjoy the many fun and exciting things Arkansas has to offer and avoid that inconvenience of packing and unpacking every day.

And, don't forget the casinos just over the border in Oklahoma. As close as a 50 minute drive.

You won't want to miss the beautiful color changing of leaves in early to mid October. Vibrant oranges, reds and yellows make for unbelievable backgrounds and foregrounds for your photo album memories.

Seclusion in Cherokee Cabin at Mount Mt. Magazine, Arkansas

Year Purchased: 2005

Why the Owner Chose Magazine

We built this home in 2005. We lived in it for three years until life decisions moved us into another place. We have had many friends and family tell us that our home would make a great vacation home and decided to give it a try.

The Unique Benefits at this House

This cabin offers seclusion without being too far off the beaten path. It is large enough for families to come together, stay in one place and make new memories and traditions. With the addition of the new two bedroom units, the options are numerous....from necessity of a smaller unit to budgets to overflow of family and friends from the large cabin!

Some exclusions apply with specials.

fabulous cabin for family retreat

We just spent a weekend celebrating my parents 60th Wedding anniversary with 9 family members. The cabin was perfect for this occasion. The cabin layout encourages families to be together by having a wonderful dining/kitchen area on the main floor that invites games around the large dining table and a deck off the area where everyone can watch the sunset. The lower area contains the TV, I just really liked the fact that the main area was not centered around a TV. The setting is bucolic and so relaxing, all your worries fall away. Highly recommend this cabin!!!

Wonderful family weekend!

We loved your home and our stay. We wanted to have a big family weekend together which included 4 generations. Everyone seemed to have a great time and wants to return someday in the near future. Everything is very nice, well stocked kitchen, lots of room for a large family. The kids stayed in the sleeping loft, Which is so nice, they had a great time being together. Enough bedrooms that the older ones and couple with small children were able to have their own space. Had a wonderful time and am looking forward to staying again. Thanks Robin!

Wonderful for large family

Date of Stay: 03/17/10 Review Submitted: 05/14/10

We really enjoyed our stay in your home. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked. The kids loved the ponds and everyone enjoyed riding their 4-wheelers. Mt Magazine is beautiful. The only reason I rate this home a 4 instead of 5 is the beds are very uncomfortable and small. That was miserable, even the kids complained. If you could fix that everything would be great.

Owner response:We're glad you had a great time. I'm sorry you felt the beds were small. The sizes are clearly defined in the website. The loft beds are less comfortable ,as they were a cheaper brand, than the bedroom beds, but we are in the process of upgrading or adding foam to them. All of the beds were purchased brand new at the time of opening to the public. As we just began this in October of 2009, we are still learning what works best and what doesn't. We encourage our guests to provide feedback to us, preferably before posting comments, but we do appreciate the information. It will help us to make it better for the next guests. Update: As of May 20, there are four brand new, comfortable mattresses in the loft. All beds have new, more comfortable mattress covers.

Our romantic stay in your cabin Valentine's weekend for my husband and I was SO MUCH MORE than we expected. The scenery was amazing...pictures just don't do this place justice. It is secluded, private, quiet and peaceful. A wonderful place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. We have plans to return soon with more family/friends. My husband and I thank you very much for providing such an awesome place away from it all, we hated to leave.

Owner response:We're very glad that you enjoyed your stay in our cabin. We hope that you continue to visit and add to your memories here. Come back soon!

We came here to get away for the weekend and this was a great place to do it! We really enjoyed the well-prepared kitchen, excellent organization and top-notch cleanliness. What we most appreciated over other VRBO cabins we've stayed in was Robin's wonderful professionalism, cheerful manner and promptness. We will be back!

We very much enjoyed the cabin. Our birthday celebration weekend couldn't have been better. Especially due to the delicious cake that you made!! We're looking forward to coming back! (These "big kids" were my "slumber" party group)

The Cherokee Cabin is excellent. Our family truly enjoyed our time together. We cooked, ate, played video games, soaked in the hot tub under the stars, watched the sun come up and just enjoyed being together. May God bless you and your family.
