Why the Owner Chose Alpine Meadows
We purchased in Alpine because of it's close proximity to two ski areas; Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley. In the summer there are also excellent trails for hiking and biking steps away from the front door.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This property is minutes from Alpine Meadows and seven minutes to Squaw Valley. The views from every room showcase mountains! The backside of KT-22 can be seen from the couch and you can see the alpine meadows patrolling from the window or while having morning coffee in the hot tub. In the summer, trails are steps away for both mountain biking and hiking. The property is in Alpine Meadows Valley. This is between Squaw Valley and Tahoe City. Short drive to everything makes this cabin very accessible.

We loved this house! We have now stayed here for two, one week stays and definitely look forward to coming back. It is the perfect size for our family of four. The house is meticulously maintained and really true to the photos. It is very clean and extremely comfortable. The location is ideal, just down the street from Alpine (5 min drive), tucked in a really nice neighborhood. The master bedroom has a really comfortable bed and the family room is perfect for hanging out to watch movies, read, or play games. The bathrooms have all been updated so they are very nice, clean and the showers worked perfectly. We also really enjoyed having the hot tub. It was a great way to relax after a day of skiing/boarding. The kitchen has everything you need... great dishes, pots/pans, coffee maker, etc. We made dinner every night and always had all the tools/dishes we needed. Katie Rice, the owner, was fantastic, so responsive and helpful! I highly recommend this rental!

Wonderful cabin surrounded by mountains

We rented this place for a week recently because our go-to cabin in Agate Bay was unavailable. We were somewhat apprehensive driving there, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The location is fantastic. The cabin is located on a whisper quiet road surrounded by mountains. It stands on the edge of a steep decline, and you have to look down over the edge of the deck to see the next home further down. There are homes to the left and right of the cabin that are partially obstructed by woods. About a quarter of mile across the deck you have unobstructed views to a large mountain (Squaw is right behind it). The cabin itself is simple: a small A-frame with a living area downstairs, a small loft and a cozy bedroom. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how clean and well-appointed everything was. The Rice cabin truly feels like you're walking into someone's home. The wooden floors were shining, the carpet in the living area and stairs was clean, and the kitchen and bathrooms were spotless. The home is appointed simply but tastefully. The furniture is comfortable and doesn't feel run-down. The fireplace worked perfectly and the two flat screen TVs were hooked to satellite. The kitchen was big enough and quite well stocked (we made particular use of the spice rack). The living area benefits from the feeling of open space because of the high A-frame ceiling and the floor-to-ceiling windows that face the deck with unobstructed views of mountains across. The upstairs is simple -- a loft with two small beds and a small master bedroom. The master bedroom is cozy with comfortable beds and attached bath (there is a full bath downstairs too). The A-frame ceiling feels warm. The two small beds in the loft are really ideally suited for kids or maybe mid-sized adults. Anyone sleeping here will have no privacy. The hot tub in the deck is awesome. At night you can shut off the lights and step outside with a glass of wine and enjoy an amazing view of the stars in absolute quiet and privacy. For skiers, Alpine Meadows is about a mile away, Squaw a 10-minute drive. The size of the house is ideally suited for a couple, maybe with a couple of young kids. I would encourage you to bring your significant other to this cabin. Negatives: the internet connection was spotty during mornings. Overall, this was a very good experience. We have paid far more for cabins elsewhere in Tahoe, and the overall quality this experience was superior.
Owner response:Thank you!

We absolutely loved it here and would enjoy coming back again the next time we are in Lake Tahoe. The cabin is gorgeous, comfortable and well appointed and feels like a private home rather than a vacation rental. The location is terrific for accessing a number of hiking areas, Truckee, Tahoe City and the drive around the lake. That said, the feeling of seclusion is wonderful as we were there in the summertime when fewer people were around. After a long day of hiking it is great to sit on the large deck in the sun and enjoy a glass of wine.
Owner response:Thank you!
