The Sea Ranch of Cala Tramontana is an architectural gem sharing a small, picturesque, bay with a few stone fishermen's warehouses. It features a former winery surrounded by small stone buildings topped by sensuous white domes. The villa consists of a group of buildings separated by patio-gardens, featuring a masterful texture of stones, plants and flowers.
The Sea Ranch includes seven rooms and five bathrooms, distributed through three separate residences, called "Stonehouse", "Boathouse" and "Warehouse". The residences are grouped around a central open space functioning as a private “piazza”, and providing access to the kitchen, a wood-fired stone oven, and various terraces and patios.
"Stonehouse" and "Boathouse" feature two bedrooms and one bath each, while "Warehouse" houses three bedrooms, three baths, a small kitchen, and a large multi-level loft space serving as art studio, living and dining areas.
The Sea Ranch is available from May to November, and the minimum stay is one week.
In May and June, Pantelleria is sunny and green, and its landscape is sprinkled with colorful vines and flowers. Although the quality of daylight is exceptional, the sea is rather cold to swim, and the nights are chilly. This is a great time to walk the internal valleys and discover the true personality of this island. In July and, particularly, in August, the island becomes very popular with outsiders, the sea is warm, and falling stars strike the sky. In September, October, and November the sea remains warm and pleasant to swim, while the island returns calm and pastoral. This is wine-making season, and the local wineries allow visitors to taste their products.
The villa is furnished and equipped, and linen is included.
During May, June, part of July, September, October, and November it is possible to rent only one of the three residences, while during the second half of July and the entire month of August the Sea Ranch can only be rented as one property to large families or groups of friends numbering 8 to 16 guests.

I am an Italian architect headquartered in New York City since 1970. I design residential and hotel projects, exhibitions and interiors. I have extensive experience in urban design, restoration, and sustainable development. I have created and directed two non-profit organizations focused, respectively, on Art & Landscape Preservation, and Urban & Environmental Advocacy Planning. I am currently involved in the design and development of an eco-friendly tourist resort in the island of Vieques (PR), the restoration of a 17th Century fortified settlement in Sicily (Italy), the design of an Autistic Village in Ponce (PR), and the design of a new waterfront residential community in Cartagena (Colombia).

Pantelleria is a splendid Mediterranean island, 40 miles from the African shore. The island is magical and primitive with 52 sleepy volcanoes and several active geysers and hot springs, surrounded by a rocky black coast fragmented into thousands of coves, grottos and stone beaches. The interior landscape features surreal sequences of black oxidian rocks and fertile green valleys dotted by minimalist stone structures and Arabic gardens. The landscape is powerfully structured into a continuum of man-made terraces, alternating soft green agricultural fields with massive stone retaining walls. Pantelleria is egg-shaped with a central 2,400 foot-high mountain offering in the clearest days, views of both Sicily and the African coast. The mountain towers over a lake, nestled in the crater of a former volcano. Ultimately, his island is a showcase of land art, sculpted by the winds and the sea, and man-made vernacular architecture.
