Our two months' stay was super. Cottage was better than expected; nice and clean and well stocked. Boating on the river among the manatees was such a great experience, as well as visits by the herons, ibis, egrets, sand hill cranes on the front lawn. We're looking forward the coming back next year.
Owner response:I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! I have reserved your time slot for next year and I am looking forward to seeing you again. Flip Caruso

The house was very clean and it was supplied with everything we needed. Our family had a great time using the canoes to go up and down the river, finding new swimming spots.

We have just returned from our week in the cozy little Weeki Wachee cottage and we miss it already. The whole family had such a nice time and our boys already want to know when we can go back. If you are looking for a neat, clean and comfortable place to stay, this is it. We found it to be nicely updated with everything we needed right there. We canoed and kayaked (rented) all over the river and most evenings sat on the dock watched the mullet jump and enjoyed a cold beverage. This is a great location to base day trips out of, with Crystal River and Homosassa to the north and Tampa, Tarpon Springs and some great beaches to the south. Check out Becky Jack's Food Shack on Cortez Blvd while you are at it but, mainly just enjoy the peacefulness that the Weeki Wachee has to offer. Thanks Flip for a great week!
Owner response:There are lots of great places to eat and things to see and do near Weeki Wachee! Please come again.

We would happily recommend staying at this darling cottage in Weeki Wachee. The house is super clean, beautifully updated, and very well equipped for anything you might need. The wildlife is amazing! A manatee swam under our canoe while we were on the river, and a blue heron was my husband's constant fishing companion. The cottage is close to shopping, restaurants and many interesting places to visit. The landlord is anxious to please without being underfoot. To top it all off, we had fantastic weather. We really enjoyed our stay at this delightful cottage.

WE FOUND THIS HOUSE VERY CLEAN AND THOUGHTFULLY OUTFITTED WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. TILE FLOORS MADE IT EASY TO KEEP CLEAN. KITCHEN AND BATH WERE UPDATED AND MODERN. NICE AND BRIGHT. THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO THE RIVER AND IT WAS AMAZING. WE LEARNED ABOUT CURRENT AND TIDE AND WIND, ALL AT THE SAME TIME! THE PADDLING WAS SO MUCH FUN . WE ALSO LEARNED ABOUT FLOATING DOCKS AND HOW NOT TO GET OUT OF THE KAYAK. BEING OVER 65 DOES HAVE SOME LIMITS, SO OUR EXITS WERE LESS THAN GRACEFUL. WE WILL BRING OUR SMALL BOAT NEXT YEAR WITH A BOATSEAT AND SMALL MOTOR. THE OWNER WAS VERY HELPFUL AND CHECKED IN TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS GOING WELL. FISHING AND BOATING, HIKING AND BIKING , READING AND RELAXING, MANATEE AND JUMPING MULLET, SO MUCH TO SEE ON THE RIVER. WE HAD A WONDERFUL TRIP , AND MISSED IT AS SOON AS WE CLOSED THE DOOR.
Owner response:We strive to keep our home a place you want to come back to! Reserving your time for next year is a great idea to make sure you have the time you want!

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of "city life", this is the place to go. With is relaxed and cozy atmosphere, you truly get the feel of the outdoors but with the amentities you would want in ariverfront home. It is within an easy distance (3 miles) to see the most beautiful sunsets the west coast of Florida offers, enjoy a beautiful beach and yet still be within easy range of getting to necessary stores (grocery, pharmacy) when needed. Our family enjoyed our stay at this delightful home on the river!

We arrived in Weeki with our family and were so pleased with the cleanliness and updated condition of the cottage! Everything was so perfect for our stay, clean beds, towels and appliances. The washer and dryer came in handy and the screened in porch was an asset. Quiet street and nice canal front convenience. We brought our kayaks and used the row boat provided at the cottage for a month of fun filled water adventures! We sat on the porch and sipped tea as the little boats and canoes from the nearby marina passed by. We waved, people waved, everyone waves in Weeki! Such a cute little "town." We caught crabs right at the dock in our crab trap, and fished off the dock and at nearby Jensen's Creek (a mile away.) We kayaked and canoed to the small beach, just around the bend, where the crystal clear Weeki Wachee river is. We also hopped in the row boat and stuck our own trolling motor on it-- and headed to the bridge by the Upper Deck where we crabbed some more! What a feast! But the highlight of the month was swimming with the manatees! We kayaked up the river to the Jumping Tree, and all along the way we met up with "Sea Cows" that we jumped out of our kayaks to swim with and snorkel with. They are gentle, loving creatures and the experience is amazing! Over all we had a great time at the "Weeki River House" as our family has come to call it!

Cosy newly refurbished retreat in a natural setting. Clean, safe. Low maintenance . Accurately described. River is magnificent. A 15 minute paddle will allow viewing of manatee and 25 minutes to see eagles. Occasionally dolfins are in the river. The "action" on highway 19 is just minutes away. Good golf at very reasonable prices nearby. Many courses. Landlord is helpful and considerate. Highly recommendable, especially nature lovers.
