Stayed at this rental and had a wonderful time! The location is great as it is just minutes to Lapland Lake and many other attractions in the southern Adirondacks. Just a short walk to the lake and the house is stocked with everything you might need. The house was clean and in perfect condition. Overall the process of renting this cabin was easy with the exception of the credit card fee. Otherwise we had a great stay and I would strongly recommend this rental to friends and family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

The house was gorgeous as anticipated, especially loved the open concept and the wonderful kitchen! A couple complaints regarding cleanliness and privacy though. There was food from the previous guests (pork fried rice to be exact) as well as multiple trash wrappers on the floor and under tables. This was especially bothersome as we had 2 little ones there who could have easily eaten these things off the floor. Any cooking utensil or dish that we needed had to be cleaned prior to using. Overall the kitchen supplies were pretty dirty, kind of frustrating. Besides the 3 blinds at the front entrance and front bathroom, there were really no other curtains or blinds in the house that I can remember. The master bedroom had a slider to the deck that went around the house to the kitchen, there was no privacy with that room at all. You had to go into the bathroom to change if anyone was outside. There was a bit of a towel shortage, pretty much 1 towel per person and no more. This went for washcloths as well, we were rationing them out. There is a washer and dryer there which is great although on vacation, the last thing you are thinking of are daily loads of laundry to maintain the towels. We were a bit disappointed with the water setup as I dont believe the pictures clearly depict it well. You actually have to walk around the property and down a "driveway" to the water where you will find a muddy area with some rocks. The stairs were steep and somewhat dangerous for the kids. Just not what I had imagined for the money we were paying. But se la vie, the house was beautiful and we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.Owner response: I have taken steps to try and make sure that the cleaning problems that this renter experienced do not happen again. The level of the lake on Great Sacandaga changes throughout the year, as well as the physical characteristics of the beach area. If you look at the pictures and read the description you will see that the house sits above the lake and is indeed about 150 yards down the hill.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Mr. Coburn's lake house, It was very spacious and met all of our needs. All of the family enjoyed the stay. The house is quite modern and comfortable. Even though there was no air conditioning, the nights were pleasant for sleeping and fans were provided if needed. It was quite a trek down to the lake but we enjoyed fishing from the dock. There was a fire pit located by the lake as well for evening get togethers. The washer and dryer were a big plus as well as it is always nice to go home with all clean clothes. I would suggest that there be a tv located in the main floor of the house along with the two in the upstairs and lower lever areas. Thanks again for having us as guests, we had a great time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I stayed at this house for a long weekend on a retreat with friends. The house is new and built well. Very spacious and great kitchen. Good fire pit by the lake as well. Bring gallons of water to drink. The tap water smells pretty bad. Also it would have been nice to have a canoe or a simple row boat. I would stay here again any time or maybe check out a bigger part of the lake.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children.

The review for this stay is simple, I was promised a beautiful stay and that's what I got. The place was clean, well stocked with basic household needs and extras like games and books. Close proximity to grocery stores and restaurants but still secluded enough to feel privacy. Everything was well maintained, only downside was the well water plumbing which was the cause for unpleasant odor in sinks and showers but it wasn't close to enough to ruin the stay. Would return and recommend to others.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
