Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2004

I am 45 years old and a native Oregonian. I was born and raised in Eugene which I lived all my life except the last 5 years. I worked for the family business for 21 years and decided I liked living up here in the Mountains than in Eugene. I have been coming to this area all my life. I actually found a picture of me when I was 3 years old wading in the waters of Crescent Lake with Diamond Peak in the background on a family camping trip. I still remember sitting in the dusty station wagon at Manley's while the adults were ordering chicken, at least they told us that. I've had a season pass to Willamette Pass Ski Resort since they put in the first chairlift and actually learned to ski there with, the poma lift and rope tows. I have a 20 year old son in college @ UCONN, and a 17 year old daughter who is a senior in high school in Glastonbury, Ct. I live up here with "Helen" my best buddy the fearless Jack Russell Terrier. I am very involved with our local fire dept. which is staffed by volunteers and have been building up here the last 3 years. Most importantly, I have made some major changes in my life that seem to be working, including moving to a small town where everyone REALLY does know your name. I love to pick other peoples minds for their views and opinions and see what I can learn from it.

Why the Owner Chose Willamette Pass

I love and live for recreation. Originally I bought at Crescent Lake because of my love for snow skiing. I got tired of driving back and forth and only dreamed some day I could spend the night and not have to drive back up the next morning. With Willamette Pass 9 miles away and Crescent Lake 4 miles the choice was easy. What I discovered was all the other recreational opportunities at my door step. I loved it so much I moved here. I also am an avid hiker, fisherman, water skier,mt. biker, and most importantly snowmobiler.

The Unique Benefits of this House

The beauty of staying in Diamond Peaks is that we don't have to trailer our snowmobiles. With access to the trail system from this home, I don't know of a more convenient location anywhere. The views are unsurpassed and the average snowfall is 300+ inches a year. You can ride from here to Crater Lake for a tour you will never forget. Crescent Lake also receives 300 days of sunshine a year with summertime temps in the 90's. We truly do have 4 distinct seasons and its hard to pick a favorite.
