Newer two-story home nestled in the mountains in the center of Grand County. It's a mountain escape with easy access to all the county has to offer, including:
-Winter Park Resort: fantastic skiing/boarding in winter (more acreage than Breckenridge!), lots of summer activities including Colorado's longest alpine slide.
-Winter Park Town: restaurants and shopping year around, ice skating, lots of summer festivals and events.
-Fraser: awesome tubing hill (with tow ropes to get you back to the top), some of our favorite restaurants, snowmobiling.
-Tabernash: hiking/snowshoe trails accessible right from the cabin, Devils Thumb ranch (cross country skiing, spa, restaurant, and more), Snow Mountain Ranch (sleigh rides, horseback riding, cross country skiing, and more), amazing golfing.
-SolVista Resort: a smaller, local ski resort - all runs lead to the same base making it great for families.
-Granby: restaurants, fantastic golfing, summer events.
-Three Lakes Area: Grand Lake, Lake Granby and Shadow Mountain Lake provide all sorts of water activities from fishing to boating and even a beach.
-Grand Lake (the town): lots of fun shops and restaurants, snowmobiling, and more.
-Rocky Mountain National Park: the west entrance is just beyond Grand Lake.
-Hot Sulphur Springs: natural hot spring resort.
-Public lands: the county is ~80% public lands so there are trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing throughout!
Now for more about the cabin!
Three Bedrooms:
-Upstairs master bedroom with California king bed, on-suite bath, and enormous master closet.
-Upstairs second bedroom with queen size bed and bunk bed, large walk-in closet.
-Downstairs bedroom has two sets of bunk beds (our bunk beds are tall so that even adults can sit comfortably on the bottom bunk and put on shoes, etc) - the room also has very tall ceilings, so no ducking necessary to be on the top bunk.
Three Bathrooms:
-Upstairs has two full baths (master and hallway both with tub/shower).
-Downstairs has one three-quarter bath that doubles as laundry room with new front load washer/dryer.
Upstairs Living Areas:
-Nice modern kitchen with large island with breakfast bar seating for three; utensils, pots, pans, and cooking amenities/appliances are provided.
-Dining area seats six at a beautiful log table (total seating for nine including breakfast bar).
-Living area with sectional couch, two massage chairs (we've found we enjoy these even more than hot tubs...and our friends concur!), large TV w/satellite and DVD/VHS system.
Downstairs Living/Other Areas:
-Den with couch and entertainment center set up with board games, videos, and a video game console with games (GameCube) - this is an ideal place for the older kids to have their own space to hang out, and it's right next door to the "bunk room".
-Utility room right off the garage is set up with shelves and hangers for quickly drying out boots/coats (room is toasty warm in winter due to boiler).
Exterior:
-Two car garage with workbench for tuning bike/skis/boards (waking up to a fresh powder day is even better when you know you don't have to dig your car out!).
-Large driveway (no more shuffling cars to allow everyone access to their own activities).
-West-facing deck with grill for enjoying sunsets over the mountains.

Why the Owner Chose Tabernash
Tabernash is the perfect Colorado location! It is centrally located to Winter Park, Fraser, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs and Rocky Mountain National Park! It's nestled in the center of all the action, but still feels like a getaway from normal city life. Our cabin has hiking trails just out the back door and there are several amazing mountain golf courses within minutes, a world-class ski resort (Winter Park/Mary Jane) just down the road, and a small family ski resort just a few minutes in the other direction. Grand County offers 600+ miles of biking trails (Fraser is known as Mountain Bike USA). The west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park is just up the road; Hot Sulphur Springs a little town with a hot spring resort is just 25 minutes west of us. We are just across from the YMCA of the Rockies (Snow Mountain Ranch) which offers tons of activities year around including nordic ski trails, sleigh rides, horseback riding, etc. There are several other nordic ski areas nearby as well. There is a tubing hill in Fraser, for those who are less interested in skiing or snowboarding. And there are lots of activities, both winter and summer, at the Three Lakes area (Grand Lake, Lake Granby, and Shadow Mountain Lake) including beaches, boating, snowmobiling, shopping, etc. We love Tabernash because all of these activities appeal to us and we wanted a quiet mountain escape that was convenient to everything the Rocky Mountains have to offer.

My husband is a Colorado native, and I am a transplant from Ohio. We've dreamed of owning property in the mountains, and when the opportunity presented itself, we decided to go for it! Although we admit to working too much, when we take a moment to pause we love the Colorado lifestyle! It's amazing to have the Rocky Mountains in our backyard and a getaway to our cabin, even if just for a weekend, feels like an escape from real life and puts a smile on our faces.
