Great Location and Great apt

Guest: Daniel S.
Date of Stay: 04/19/12 Review Submitted: 05/07/12

This well located Apt in Upper East Side Manhattan is a wonderful place to stay. This safe and quiet neighborhood allows your stay. A few bars open until 4am are on 1st and 2nd Ave and allow you to have a good evening before going to bed. The Stumble Inn is a very nice sportsbar located in the area. In the morning you can enjoy your breakfast at several local shops and the subway is a 10min walk away from the apt. Concerning the apt building and the apt, it's a nice place, wifi connection is fast, kitchen is in good condition, bed and sofabed just right next to each other. Maxcar is a great service that drives you from JFK to Manhattan, Max is a very nice person! Sue made our stay very comfortable! Would come back for sure!

I loved my stay here.

Guest: RS (United States)
Date of Stay: 12/07/11 Review Submitted: 12/19/11

This was my first vrbo experience and I was nervous about it before I booked this apartment. I'm happy to say that my experience with Sue and this place were so great that I'm eager to stay in all of her properties! I had to think twice about whether to write such a rave review because this vrbo feels like one of those secrets you want to keep for yourself. But my gratitude to Sue and her staff (especially Kenny who rescued me from a lockout; I left my keys in the apt.) for offering these properties with such great hospitality are overcoming my selfishness interests:) I'm looking forward to many more visits to Sue's properties in NYC. It really felt like a home away from home. Thank you Sue!

Good location, very clean, larger than we expected

Guest: Cathy (Nashville)
Date of Stay: 10/12/11 Review Submitted: 10/18/11

I just returned last night from a five-night stay in this very clean, conveniently located apartment. The apartment was larger than we were expecting, and the beds were comfortable. Sue was a pleasure to work with throughout the process; Max was on-time and a very pleasant gentleman. He also spoke highly of Sue. I can't go to NY without eating every chance I get, and this trip was no exception. We ate at 2nd Ave. Deli (which is on 1st Ave. for some reason), Tout va Bien (W. 51st-delicious French cuisine), Star Diner (two breakfasts), Barking Dog (two breakfasts), Five Guys Burgers (Fulton St.), Zucchero & Pomodori at 2nd and 74th, and takeout from Gotham Pizza. Enjoyed the neighborhood; very safe and convenient to buses, cabs, and subway. Would rent from Sue again.

A real New York City experience

Guest: Texas Traveler (San Antonio,TX)
Date of Stay: 10/04/11 Review Submitted: 10/12/11

My fellow Texas traveler and I referred to this compact but very livable studio as "home" before the end of our first day in NYC! It was clean and added a marvelous sense of neighborhood to our week-long stay. Never once did we feel anything but safe. We definitely felt we were living like the natives, including having an extraordinary deli on the corner and the street noises/atmosphere wafting up to our sixth floor windows. It's walking distance to just about anything you'd want to see in Manhatten (and the subway is a mere three blocks if you're not sturdy enough to hike like the natives). A little stronger water pressure (don't know that there's anything one can do about that in NYC) is all this place needs to make it darn near perfect. My next trip to NYC will be planned around the availability of this Upper East Side property.

Charming, quiet neighborhood

Guest: Jan W. (Indianapolis)
Date of Stay: 09/19/11 Review Submitted: 09/24/11

Stayed here for four nights in September 2011 while enjoying museums, fine dining and a Yankee game (not at the same time!) The apartment was exactly as advertised - clean, well equipped, safe and quiet! We stay at many VRBO properties and they are usually very good, but here we found boxes of kleenex, extra toilet tissue, paper towels, napkins, coffee filters, extra towels, hair dryer, IPod dock, even salt & pepper shakers! We lacked for nothing and only had to purchase the 1/2 & 1/2 for our coffee (did bring a baggie of coffee from home). The neighborhood was very pleasant with lots of grocery shops, diners, small restaurants and wine stores. We walked to the 77th Street subway often to go uptown or downtown and it was simple. We highly recommend this unit and any others that Sue manage.

Well Appointed, Clean and Comfortable Studio Apt!

Guest: chefbonnie (Tustin, CA)
Date of Stay: 08/16/11 Review Submitted: 09/03/11

My family and I were very pleased with our accommodations at this lovely studio apartment. It was very clean, had lots of natural sunlight, and there were plenty of extra towels for us to use. I corresponded with Sharine leading up to our stay and she was always very helpful and professional throughout the process. As we left for the airport at the end of our stay with the apartment keys left on the table as instructed, I closed the door and immediately realized that I didn't have my purse!! I couldn't believe it!! I called and spoke to Dulce, who dropped what she was doing and rushed over to open the apartment for us so we wouldn't miss our flight. We were so grateful!! I would highly recommend this apartment!

Great Place

Guest: bloodinc (Jacksonville Florida)
Date of Stay: 06/13/11 Review Submitted: 07/12/11

We stayed in June and the apartment was a great place for my wife to stay. It was four blocks away. She had no problems finding places to eat and shop. The area around the flat was very clean and safe and she felt very safe walking around the area even up to Central Park. There were no problems walking anywhere and Sue was a great host. The internet and AC worked very well and we had no problems with the flat. The room was as listed and the photos online are very accurate. Everything inside the apartment was well appointed and clean. Not only was Sue a great host she was concerned about my wife and my well being and always wanted to help and make sure we were taken care of. When we go back to NYC to stay for a while we will call Sue and make sure we stay at one of her properties. I would recommend this property as well as recommending any of Sue Bradley's places.

Can't wait to return!

Guest: Young family from Oz (Victoria, Australia)
Date of Stay: 06/06/11 Review Submitted: 09/21/11

Travelling from Australia with a 2 year old was daunting but as soon as we arrived at this apartment (after a great trip from the airport with Max) we felt relaxed. The apartment was perfect for us and we all enjyed our time there. The location to Central Park was great as we ended every day there. We used the subway easily from the apartment and the area is so quiet at night time. We can not recommend enough the take away options as well and a big thank you for Sue for having the menus available in the place. All our dealings with Sue were great even though we were organising everything from Oz. We hope we will get back to New York one day and definitely will be returning to this apartment. Thanks Sue!!

My sister and I stayed here for nearly a week. It felt so good to come back to "our home" after walking all over the city. The beds are comfy, plenty of room, and so CLEAN. One of the cleanest, tidiest places we've been. Plus, Sue's great customer service!

We had a wonderful experience at this very clean and charming studio apt. It was very comfortable and in a great location. It had all the little extra things that make a stay more comfortable i.e. I expected to be buying coffee filters, paper towels and kleenex, but didn't have to because it was there in the apt. when we arrived, along with very soft and comfortable sheets, comforters, pillows, and towels. Very nicely furnished as well. There was plenty of space, and the furnace was on when we arrived, making it very cozy. Sue is wonderful and very accommodating. It is very apparent that she is committed to providing a superb experience for her guests. I will not hesitate to stay there again, and hope to do so, on my next trip to NYC.

we had a great stay! It is close to the bus and just a couple of blocks to the subway. We were very busy with shows and the tree lighting and it was a nice quiet haven apart from all of the hoop-la. We walked a block or two to restaurants every night, very convenient location. Close to bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. No complaints what so ever. It is clean, convenient, cute, and perfect for 2!

Great Place, Great Location, Very Quiet

Guest: Roy (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada)
Date of Stay: 09/19/10 Review Submitted: 10/23/10

My wife and I spent three nights at this apartment and found it to be absolutely ideal. The apartment was clean and the bed and furnishings were comfortable. There was absolutely no noise from other apartment dwellers (we, in fact, only saw two others). The apartment is on a quiet street just far enough from the NY traffic and yet close enough to walk to many sites ( e.g., Central Park, The MET, Guggenheim) , Metro stations, and good restaurants. We felt very safe walking in the neighborhood, even very late at night. Although my wife and I are not experienced VRBO users, I suspect the quality of the stay is largely dependent on the quality of the owner/manager. I got a really good feeling about Sue from talking with her on the phone and that feeling was verified on meeting her. She was very accomodating and provided all kinds of good information, ideas, and advice on seeing New York. I highly reccommend the apartment and Sue.

Wonderful Stay

Guest: Antoinette (Dublin, Ireland)
Date of Stay: 09/12/10 Review Submitted: 09/29/10

Me and my boyfriend stayed in this lovely apartment for a week in September 2010. The apartment was perfect. It had absolutely everything we needed and was immaculately kept. Everything in the apartment was as described and worked perfectly. The information provided on local restaurants, shows etc. was fantastic and we used this every day. The only slight (very minor) negative was that the location was further North than we would have liked, as we ended up spending a lot of our time in the East Village, Greenwich and Chelsea areas - so popping back to the apartment before dinner to change was time consuming. Saying that, though, the subway service is fantastic and the green line (10min walk from apartment) goes everywhere we would have wanted. Please note that the location was made very clear by the apartment owner, we just didn't realise how much time we would spend in South Manhattan. If you prefer Central Park/fifth avenue areas, then it's a very good location. I would 100% recommend this owner to anyone. And I will definitely contact her again when we go back as her professional and friendly service made the trip an absolute pleasure. As we had a late arrival on our first night, we just got some slices of pizza from Gotham (1667 1st Ave) which was very close to the apartment. Their Grandma pizza was fantastic. There was also a very good diner (dingy looking but very good food) beside the subway station at 73rd St and Lexington. Nice for pancakes, french toast etc. Very friendly staff. A huge thanks for such a positive and memorable trip!

Owner response:Thanks Antoinette for your Guest Comments. For Antoinette's dates, this was the only apartment of mine that was available for her dates. My other NYC Furnished Apartments are located further south, in Midtown East. For guests wanting to spend more time downtown, one of these other apartments would be better located for that but again, it depended on availability. Hope to see you again in NYC Antoinette! Sue

I was in NY for a conference and didn't want a hotel experience. This apartment was ideal -- the location and the privacy. It was also very quiet, which is a big deal for me. The bed is also very comfortable. Good views from the west facing window. Sue was easily reachable by phone and very friendly and helpful.

I want to share how delightful my stay in this NYC apartment was. The apartment on 77th is a real charm…bright, clean and very comfortable. I took the subway to my business appointments all around the city, ate in local places and found a near by Pilates Studio. It is so much cozier than a hotel but still business friendly. I'll be back here or one of Susan's other spots on the East Side. I’ll be in touch the next time I need to be in NYC.

We spent 2.5 weeks at Susan's place on E 77th and loved every minute of it. We originally came for a long weekend to host a baby shower, the baby came early and we stayed put. The space is open, light, bright, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen enabled us to make coffee, breakfast and the occasional meal. Susan is an excellent "host” - very helpful and responsive. The location was perfect for everything we needed to do. We plan to be guests again soon, and would highly recommend this for a "real NYC" experience.

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment on E. 77th Street. My daughters and I walked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, Central Park and even Bloomingdales 2 miles south. The neighborhood felt safe and the view from the studio at night was awesome! Quiet and clean place - I highly recommend a little restaurant nearby...The Barking Dog! We hope to return and hope to stay there again.

My in-laws stayed here for three weeks while they were visiting from France and they really enjoyed their stay! The apartment was very clean, very quiet, there was lots of light, and everything they needed for their stay was provided (sheets, towels, etc). There was a lot of space and all the appliances worked very well. Basically it felt like their home away from home, which was perfect! The owner was very responsive to any questions and concerns we had, and could not have been nicer. I would highly recommend this apartment.

This was a very positive experience!! My sister-in-law and I visit NYC a couple times a year. This was our first time using a rental. The apartment was outstanding. Everything you need and more. Great location, close to subway, awesome deli around the corner! We're glad we stayed out of our comfort zone this time around and we'll be doing it again. What a terrific way to experience the city. Sue was incredible! She is very knowledgeable about the area and she loves what she does. She makes you feel at home and is the sweetest person you'll meet in NY!! Thanks for the new experience!!

Our stay in this little Upper Eastside apartment was wonderful- absolutely no complaints. We were just a short distance from Central Park and walked there everyday of our vacation. We also rented bicycles and rode all over Manhattan. That was a blast. Susan was very accomodating, letting us stay in the apartment a few hours later on our departure day. She personally met us on our arrival day and gave us good ideas for eating out and activities in the area. She made herself available should anything go wrong with the apartment- but there was no need as it was perfect. We will definitely be staying in one of her apartments on our next trip to NYC!!
