Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: House & Barn
House … You will never find a barn house like this one! Two story living room, kitchen and dining area with amazing full height glass wall with oversized doors. Doors open out to view of pasture, cattle and natural horizon beyond; of Vatteman Creek; which flows into Baffin Bay. The downstairs master bedroom has a queen size bed with walls and ceiling insulated for privacy and quality sleep. Beautiful cedar stair case takes you to two open loft bedrooms. One with a queen size bed the other two twin beds. The fully equipped kitchen is open to living area with large tiled bar looking out the glass wall. Bathroom features open shelving and a large tiled shower with a window to view the pond and wildlife while providing openness and good quality light.
Barn … Multiple doors and windows provide ventilation and light while 2 rolling doors create an opening 9 feet high and 20 feet wide. The washer and dryer are located in the barn along with table, chairs, benches, tools and equipment. The north side of barn yard is semi enclosed with corral board fencing. This provides privacy and a good place to relax and enjoy the large pond and trees….creating a space to get out of the wind, sit, visit and barbeque. The south and east barn yards provide parking space and ample room to maneuver trailers and boats.
100 acre ranch …. 100 acres ranch which is divided into three pastures. A small herd of gentle Black Angus cows range the pastures without the house and barn. The ranch road from the entrance gate to the house is within the house pasture. The road is elevated and well drained but could be improved. There is a large pond near the house and two smaller ponds along the road to the house. The pond levels are dependent on rainfall. The pasture has very panoramic views (especially of sunrises and sunsets) with good grass and some tree cover. Once the sun has set you will enjoy one of the best views of the stars you have probably ever seen. Perfect for “Nature Lovers.” Bird watching is especially good during winter when huge flocks of cranes, geese, ducks and other protected species fly mornings and evenings. Quail population is limited, but Dove populations are generally good. Arrangements for Dove hunting must be made in advance.
Fishing Baffin Bay and the surrounding waters is the main attraction. Baffin Bay and the surrounding waters of the intracostal are the only area in Texas with coral rock formations. Making it especially good fishing for Drum, Redfish and Trophy Speckled Trout. The bay is also very scenic. Enclosed by the King Ranch to the north and Kenedy Ranch to the south which are two of the largest and most pristine Texas ranches. Site seeing can be enjoyed by boat, bike… pedal or motorized, kayak, vehicle or on foot.
Fishing is just around the corner, with the public park and boat ramp about two miles away. The barn is available to store your boat and trailer. If you do not have a boat you can enjoy fishing from one of the two public piers, wade fishing along the shorelines and some of the finest fishing guides are available for chartered trips.
Loyola Beach boasts two excellent seafood restaurants and two local taverns. A convenience store is about one mile down the road.
Kingsville is about 20 miles to the north and offers antiquing and a unique old fashion country main street that features a variety of shops. Kingsville is also home to The King Ranch Headquarters, with guided tours, The King Ranch Museum, exploring the history of this area and the ranch, and King Ranch Saddle shop, featuring the finest in leather goods.
