We stayed at this apartment for one week, and we loved it. Laurent, the owner, recently renovated this lovely, quaint and comfortable abode. The pictures of the apartment accurately depict the apartment. It is located in a true Parisian neighborhood, on a lively street, yet it is quiet and very secure. We always felt safe walking in the neighborhood, no matter the time of day. The view of Sacre Coeur from the main room window can not be beat. And, if you look out the window to the left, you can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. It’s just wonderful. Make sure you watch the Eiffel Tower at the top of the evening hours one night (if you are home) and watch the light show from the window! The apartment is a block away from the subway station, and within minutes, you can arrive at any one of the amazing sites or arrondissements in Paris. During the process of renting this apartment, Laurent was very accommodating and easy to work with. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is new and clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The apartment is a perfect size for a couple. We enjoyed two evenings dining at La Patache, a restaurant located on Rue De Lancry, in the Canal Saint Martin area, about three blocks or so from the apartment. We highly recommend staying at this apartment as we were very satisfied with the location, the security, the price and the apartment itself! Thank you so much Laurent, for everything. We truly hope to see you again in the future. Take care and best wishes!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

We were the first guests in this newly renovated apartment. While there were a few problems, Laurent had them taken care of quickly. We loved the apartment and looked forward to coming "home" after long days of exploring the wonders of Paris and surrounding cities. The bed was very comfortable and the heated towel rack was greatly appreciated. While we had some cold, rainy days the apartment was warm and very inviting. We appreciated the security systems and the quiet because we were away from the street. We enjoyed having the handy kitchen so we could start our days off with good coffee and breakfast while enjoying our view of Sacre Couer. We often ended our days with a salad or take-in treat in the apartment. There are grocery stores, bakeries, shops, and a Metro station close by. If you're a mussels fan, there's a Leons several blocks away and other restaurants. We would return if we travel to Paris again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We spent an enjoyable week in Paris in September staying in this charming apartment. Other reviews have mentioned some of the idiosyncrasies of the flat but we adjusted to them without any real issue. The photos along with the other reviews give an accurate description. The apartment, and the area, was perfect for what we wanted and as we had been to Paris before our goal was to find a cute little place that would serve as a "home base" as we set out each day to explore the city beyond the major tourist attractions, and for us this apartment was just that. The gates at each end of the lane provided excellent security, not that we had any issues at all in the area. The owner met us the first day and provided helpful information also answering additional emailed questions during our stay. Everything we needed was within easy walking distance, be it the metro stations, markets, shopping or restaurants. There are several excellent bistros within a few blocks and we especially enjoyed Bistrot Renaissance (19 Rue Rene Boulanger) and Le Plomb du Cantal (4 Blvd St.Denis). We set out to spend an enjoyable relaxing week in Paris in the fall and we did just that.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.

Thank You; We had the most wonderful stay at the apartment and found it to be the perfect size for 2 adults. Open the windows and view Sacre Coeur, a must visit on any tourist list. Turn your head to the left and there is a good view of the Eiffel Tower. Apartment was quiet, when you did see someone, they were very friendly and talk about secure!! A locked gate to enter buildings, and when the door closes behind you, you are safe off the street, then another for enter the buildings and another to enter your building. then take the lift. We fell in love with Paris, the apartment was great, thanks for meeting us there and giving us a map of the surrounding area i.e., grocery store, cafe, bakery (we were there often). Two metro lines just like 50 meters from apartment entrance, Gare de Nord and Gare de L'est a nice 10 minute walk away. We will be back in Paris again, hope to rent from you then, Thank You.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank u a lot William for this amazing review!!!! it was my entire pleasure to welcome u and contribuate to offer you the best memories for your bday in PAris Best regards LAurent

This apartment is exactly as advertised. Yes the toilet is small. There are some issues with the bathroom sink. But we could make tea and coffee as we pleased. There is more than one Metro line in the area - anywhere from a 2 to a 10 minute walk at most. We were within walking distance of Gare de l'est which we needed to be at early on the 10th of August. Laurent left us with a map showing the closest Boulangerie, Market, Laundry and Metro stop. The cafe across Boulevard de Magenta was good. And La Taverne Paris Republique (about a 10m walk away) was excellent. It is about a 20-30 minute walk to Isle de la Cite (Notre Dame) heading down Rue Saint-Martin. If you want to see or go to the top of the Eiffel Tower we recommend buying your tickets on line before you go. And take the Metro. Its much easier on the feet :-) Laurent has a beautiful view of the Sacre Couer which had to make up for not having enough time to get there. As first time VRBO renters we would definitely recommend this apartment.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Donna for the nice comment , im happy that you enjoyed Paris and my appartment that much . You had the opportunity to enjoy my new shower and since you left i have redone the toilets also, it looks better and the white color seem to make it look bigger :-D You are more than welcome to come back anytime best regards L.

We stayed in the apt 12 nights, & are in our 60s. The listing description is accurate & the photos reasonably reflect apt. The apt was clean, well-maintained, and odorless. The owner was friendly and answered our questions. The phone with its free calls to the U.S. and the high speed internet to connect our laptop & iPhones were very useful. We would recommend the apt to 2 people without a car looking for a good rate in a part of Paris where there is a diverse mixture of cafes and ethnic restaurants. My wife & I enjoyed exploring the immediate neighborhood & 10th Arr nearly every night. Yes, the apt is small and the room containing the toilet tiny; these features are not unusual for conventional apts.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hello Fred, Thx a lot for your review who respect perfectly the soul of the flat .It was a pleasure to meet you both and spend some times speaking together.Im glad you enjoyed your stay in Paris and look forward to have you home again Regards Laurent

I had a very comfortable stay in this well located apt in the 10e. Metro nearby, great covered market (St. Martin) very close by, and the canal just a couple of blocks away. Laurent, the owner, was very welcoming and attentive and the apartment has everything one would need, including wi fi. The view was especially lovely!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We surely enjoyed having more space than a cramped hotel room to lounge and rest after a full day of touring the city and being able to make ourselves a nice breakfast each morning. We stayed in the apt for 9 days. The pictures and description of the apartment are accurate. Access to the Jacques Bonsergent metro station (city subway) is right outside the complex. 2 quick stops away via Metro to Gare du Nord where one can pick up RER and Eurostar taking them anywhere they want to go. The owner was very pleasant and eager to answer general questions to help you. Several bakeries and 2 groceries close by. The price was fair for an apt located away from the heavy tourist area of the Seinne River. Cons: The bathroom is very tiny; your knees will rest against the door. But doable and private. The apt has an strong unpleasant odor. A/C is not common in Paris; just in case someone doesn't know. Street noise is very loud; lasting until early morning hours and city traffic starts up around 5 am. A comment depicting this area as "safe and quiet" is not accurate. I would not recommend this area for single females, but perhaps an alert couple.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Dear Catherine, Thank you for your review, your comments have been taken on board to ensure I can provide the best possible stay for my guests in the future. I would also like to offer you and all potential visitors the following suggestions to consider, should you wish to visit Paris or a similar European city again. The bathroom, and the size of the apartment in general, is typical of a one-bedroom Parisian apartment. This is much larger and better value than what you will get at a hotel for the same price. The apartment is intended to sleep two, however I permitted you to host an extra guest, which may be why you felt the space too cramped for your liking. You are correct, air conditioning is not common in Paris, and visitors should be aware of this should they feel this to be a necessary comfort. The apartment is professionally cleaned after every guest, and I have never had any complaints regarding cleanliness or unpleasant odour from previous visitors. I would suggest that during an extended stay, like your stay of nine days, that you ensure to ventilate and keep the apartment clean after yourselves, including emptying the garbage frequently to avoid generating bad odours. The 10th arrondissement is inner urban Paris, which is a vibrant cultural hub of the city. Whilst certainly not the quiet countryside, any minimal noise emanating from the street has not posed a problem for myself living here, or any other guests who are aware of the type of area they are staying in. Some traffic ( wich start around 8 and not 5 am )and noise is typical of a European city and for many is part of the experience of staying in an historic, exciting and lively area. The area is in fact very safe as most of our city, and the building very secure with restricted access. I have many friends, male and female, who live permanently nearby, and have never had any security concerns. 50 % of the building is hosting old poeple as well. In future I suggest that you research thoroughly the city that you intend to visit, to ensure you find an area that meets your expectations. With regards, Laurent
