Why the Owner Chose Black Mountain
My sister and I grew up in this house and inherited it from our mother's estate. It is very dear to us and we hope to always be able to keep it in the family. Renting it as a vacation rental gives us the chance of keeping it alive in and in good shape.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The location is perfect. Walking to shop or dine is so easy because downtown is just one block away and the recreation center is just a stroll to the lake and tennis courts. You can feel the energy of living in-town by sitting on the front porch or just move to the deck and drink in the mountain views. An expansive living and den make the house feel spacious and the eat in kitchen allows for a cook to be with guest and create a dinner together. An extra sink in the master bedroom is convenient and the dining room gives the house a more formal touch.

I am a native of the region and once lived at this residence. My career in teaching has been devoted to giving back to the community that shaped my ideals. My mother lived in this home until her mid 90's and she encouraged visitors walking by to sit with her on the front porch. The garden area in the backyard serves several families and carries on the tradition of vegetable gardening Helen's way. . She would be delighted to know that people stay in her home to celebrate birthdays, friendship, reunions, and even weddings. I would like to think I carry on her Southern hospitality and attitude, feeling like I make friends with each of my patrons.

Helen's Place was home sweet home. We felt as though we belonged to this wonderful and loving home. It was as though we can to visit a dear relative. The home is in a perfect area, within in walking distance to the cute town of Black Mountain. We walked each morning around the neighborhood after our morning walk, we walked less than to blocks to Black Mountain bakery. Wow. The neighbors were very warm and friendly. The owner of Helen's place is very special. Our son was getting married at Lake Tomahawk and she left us bottle of champagne to celebrate. The great location of Helen's place allowed for family to stop by as though it was home to visit with my us and our son. We truly enjoyed our stay at Helen's place and the convenience to this tourist town of Black Mountain. The home is within miles of another beautiful town Montreat, home of Billy Graham. Helen's place is within walking distance of great food and a wonderful fudge and ice cream shop. We will be returning to Black Mountain and our new found home is Helen's place, Home sweet home.
