We absolutely loved this condo. We will come back next year. The condo had one of the best views in the entire complex. We rented 4 condos in this complex and this unit by far had the best views in our opinion. We also found the decor very nice! The bed in the Master Bedroom was great! We asked the owner where we can by that bed. We also enjoyed the location of this condo very much. It was in walking distance to restaurants and shops. It was also in walking distance to 2 of Kona's most popular beaches. The owner of this condo was also extremely helpful and nice. He was a wealth of information of what to do on the island and when we had questions during our stay he always returned our phone call. We want to come back next year for 2 or 3 weeks not just a week. And we will choose to stay in this condo again. We were very happy and very comfortable!!!

Very poorly maintained property. We rented for the month of December 2011. The pots & pans are so bad we had to borrow the neighbors to cook Christmas dinner. The closets are so full of empty boxes & broken lamp & old dresser that I had to clean just so our kids had a place to put their clothes when they came. The deck furniture is by far the worst of any of the neighbors. We were in several condos here on this stay. They are all exceptionally nice, so our recommendation is to pick one of them to rent. The kitchen is very old & the dishes were all covered in grease so we had to wash all of them before using. The TV is very old, the VCR is very corroded but there is a DVD player that works. The Internet is not in this unit & has an extremely week signal & at times doesn't work. We have stayed many times with VRBO & this is by far the worst. Some of the plugins on the walls come out as you unplug stuff!! Very dangerous. The only great thing is the location to the ocean - absolutely beautiful. If the owner would put some repairs into this place it would be a lot better. He was very accommodating when we got Intouch with him about replacing taps in both bathrooms & a broken coffee pot but there is so much more that needs replacing.

Owner response:I found this review extremely offensive. These are the type of guests that are just simply negative people. The internet works perfect! The guests before and after them had ZERO problems. The guest also complimented me via email that my unit by far had the BEST VIEWS of any of the other condos. I would like to point out the guests before and after gave it a 5 star rating. She also doesn't point out that the unit has brand new furniture beds, carpet, tile etc. There is one accurate part of her review...the closets did have a lot of stuff in them and I had it all removed and I got all new pots and pans after her complaint. This guest got mad at me for no reason when I asked her why she didn't work with my property manager to have anything she wasn't happy with corrected. As her complaints were simple fixes. She wrote me a "rude" email and say how dare you say this is our fault. Anyways in this world you have happy people and unhappy people. These were just unhappy people. All my other guests love the condo and come back again and again. This comment has made me realize there is no way to please everyone. Come and stay and I promise and guarantee you will be happy!

We stayed here recently to renew our wedding vows. The condo was fantastic with a wonderful location. The owner was available anytime we needed him, and truly made us feel like we were at home.I would highly recommend to other travelers. We have already made plans for next year.

Surf and Racquet NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED

The unit has outstanding views and the furniture in dining/living-room and bedrooms is quite nice (see owner's photos) but the unit is POORLY MAINTAINED. Rust is everywhere you look : fans, door handles, electrical outlet screws, fridge, bathroom walls... Most kitchen ustensils need replacing. I didn't have the heart to cook in them so we used the BBQ areas instead. Entrance rugs are worn out. Kitchen and bathroom need work! A lot of work! Wireless internet is not in the unit itself. You can connect to an insecure connection which is actually located in another unit, but it is so slow you will time-out most of the time. OK as a back up connection but cannot be used as a regular work connection/skype etc. We didn't have any cellphone so it made communication very complicated. We arrived during the evening and relied on having internet access. No internet connection worked the first evening we were there and we couldn't find any information on it (there was no information booklet for guests in the unit) so we had to wait the following day to call from a payphone the contact number left by the owner. While he was out of town, he quickly had his local contact bring us a letter with all of the info in it. We appreciated it. My biggest disappointment is that we didn't expect to have such a poorly maintained unit. Every little thing was adding up (internet access, pots and pans, rust, bathrooms...). The resort itself is quite nice. Great pool and fantastic manicured gardens. Everything in the resort is beautifully maintained, but not this unit. I have posted some photos on another website just look for - surf and racquet not what we expected - on a search engine. The photos seen on this website are acurate for the living room and bedrooms. The photos I took give a closer look to how the kitchen and bathrooms are today. Would recommend Surf and Racquet but not this unit. Not sure how other people have been able to write such positive reviews... I give it 2 stars, one for the view (can't beat that view), and another one for the location of the resort (next to great Punaluu Beach Park where snorkeling is awesome and Keauhou shopping center just up the road).

Owner response:Unfortunately this is not an accurate review. This client was not from the USA. They didn't bring a cellular phone and didn't call me regarding a few minor maintenance issues. If I had been contacted, these small issues could have been handled immediately. I had the small issues fixed as soon as I learned about them. I have emailed this client and told her I was disappointed with her review especially considering the people before and after her stay were very happy. Also no one has ever complained about having internet issues. This is the first client ever to have an issue with the internet. I feel she put this review on as she wanted some money back but I didn't give any discount as I didn't feel it was warranted. I take pride in my condo and all other guests I have had have been extremely happy!!! I have a lot of repeat business as well. You just can't please everyone!! Thank you Shawn

This condo was perfect for our family. The owner was really nice and very helpful. We loved being right on the ocean!! You could hear the waves from every room in the condo and the sunset views were amazing from the lanai. The interior of the condo was lovely. It was finely appointed with newer furniture and was quite spacious!! We will definitely coming back to this condo next year.

This was our first trip to Hawaii. The owner of the property was extremely helpful throughout our stay. We called and asked lots of questions and he was always great at getting back to us and giving us travel tips. The unit was great. It was right on the ocean you could hear the waves right from the condo. The place was just perfect for our family. Also right out in front of the lanai was a nice grass area for our kids to play. We will definitely be coming back and hope to make this an annual tradition.

We stayed in this condo in March 2011. It was great. It looks just like the pictures, the views are amazing. We saw whales while eating our breakfast on the lanai. Everything was clean and easy to use. The rental process was very easy. The complex was very beautiful and tropical. The location was great for us, it was very peaceful. I would recommend this rental and look forward to staying there next time we visit the Big Island.

WOW! You can't get any closer to the ocean than this. And the sunsets are incredible. We love this condo and are so glad we chose to stay here. Thank you so much for helping our first time VRBO experience such a positive one.
