World class trout fishing is available on the property. Hiking and biking opportunities surround us. Cute shops and wonderful restaurants abound.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage

We stayed here for a couple of nights in November when we were in town for our brother's wedding. We could not have been happier with this rental. The owners were very prompt with all communications & made sure that they were available should we have any needs or concerns. The cottage is exactly as pictured, but what's missing from the pictures is the beautiful yard that leads to the river. We were extremely pleased with the cleanliness and overall decor of the place. An added bonus were all the spices and cooking supplies in the kitchen. My brother-in-law raved about this cottage and plans to bring his family back again in the future. I highly recommend it. Really, you can't beat this for the price. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We enjoyed 3 nights at the cottage and found everything exactly as described on the website. The cottage was well equipped and very peaceful and comfortable. It was a welcome break having travelled from the UK the previous day. It is in an ideal location to explore the start of the Appalachian Trail and the surrounding area which is very beautiful and different to anywhere we have been in the USA on past holidays. Thank you!

This is our second visit to the cottage and we enjoyed it just as much this time as the last! We brought a second set of friends with us this time, as well as the friends from last year's visit, and they too were enamored. We had a bonfire each night and though the fishing did not get any trout, the SNAPPING TURTLE was so much fun! (No we didn't cook it...it actually got away but it was NOT happy!!! We hope to make this a yearly tradition until the owners don't rent it out anymore! Thanks again you guys for such an enjoyable place to stay for the weekend!

Well we really got our chilin and grillin mode on at the wonderful little cottage. The grounds are so clean and easy to walk. We spent most of our time by the fire pit listening to the river. The 500 chanels of dish network were plenty to keep those homebodies happy and the football fans glued to the tv. Great ktichen, great beadrooms. The only suggestion I would make would be a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Brinsons - well done! Thanks a bunch!

I have rented many times with VRBO, and I have to say that this little house is a gem. It is the best maintained rental I have found through VRBO: kitchen is well stocked; great, kid-friendly touches are evident everywhere; beautifully maintained grounds are breathtaking; thoughtful hang-out spaces dot the property. Nothing was ignored when the owners prepared the place for renters. We had all the amenities of home and honestly didn't want to leave. The river is so beautiful here, and we had so much fun tubing near the house. There are even huge trout to feed and admire. I will certainly try to rent again. The owners are delightful, friendly, and helpful. I truly can't say enough good things about my vacation here, and I can't wait to return.

My husband and I have stayed here several times. It is amazing!! In fact, the first time we stayed it was just the two of us, which was great, but we enjoyed it so much we wanted to share it with our family and friends. The next time we brought our 2 young children as well as some of our family. We have caught many trophy trout, enjoyed floating the river, and in the cooler seasons sitting inside by the fireplace. This is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or quality time with your family and/or friends.

Wow! What a gorgeous property! The owners keep this tidy cabin immaculate and it is very well stocked and comfortable. It's also convenient to the wineries (right down the road!) and the cute downtown of Dahlonega! We've probably visited this cabin 8 or 10 times and we plan to go back as often as we can. My husband (and our son) take fly rods and are entertained for hours around the bends of the river. His biggest catch, however, was RIGHT in front of the property! I'm emailing the owners a picture of the gorgeous trout to include on their website. We love sitting in the chairs by the campfire, swinging in the hammock or just taking a dip in the cool, running, relaxing river water...just steps from the adorable front porch! We're all ready to go back!!

My husband and I just enjoyed 5 lazy days at the cottage. We started each day by feeding the trout that hang out in a cool, deep hole near our campfire ring. We spent our mornings gardening, traveling and hiking along the Russell Scenic Highway, shopping in Dahlonega, tubing the river (right in front of the cottage), and having lunch in town. Each afternoon, we sat in beach chairs with our feet in the cool river water while we read great books. We prepared gourmet meals and dined outside under the stars every evening. We have worked for 2 years to perfect this lovely place. It is in pristine condition. The only thing better than sharing it with others, is spending quite time there with each other.

All other reviews state this cabin is peaceful. I will admit the yard is nice and able to view the creek easily. But, the 8ft floating island is OLD AND COMING APART (had many tears in fabric)! THE FISHING IS TERRIBLE, only caught 2 little fish, looked more like minnows to me! We weren't given the code to get in the house so therefore when we did get it and went in the house the police come due to the alarm! The AC did NOT WORK AND WAS OVER 80 DEGREES IN THE HOUSE AT 8PM!!!! You are not able to run more than 1 thing using water at a time. Please rethink before spending your money here! We were to stay 3 nights only could stay 1 night due to the heat and other issues. The owners stated they would TRY to get someone out to the cabin but they were out of state. I asked for a partial refund which I felt was more than generous since these issues were not of my making. Yes, I did get a PARTIAL REFUND! I told the wife I expected at least 2 nights refund, they sent 1 night refund due to quoting their CANCELLATION POLICY! I didn't rent and pay upfront 3 nights, drive to Georgia with 3 kids, unpack, buy groceries to only stay 1 night then cancel the other nights for the heck of it! No, we wanted a place we as a family could have fun, but due to issues we could no longer stay at this cabin! My refund letter also stated they felt we had FROZE UP THE AC! Ok, let me get this straight, it's my fault you turn the ac off, it's 86 when we come into the cabin, you know renters are going to turn it on and down to the 70's at least. Why would you turn it off in JULY in the south anyway, just turn it up like most people to 80 and then it would have been some cooler!!! And I don't think it froze up because we turned it off to turn on the attic fan. Now how did it stay frozen in that heat even the next day when it was tried again? I don't think so! So very sad, was our family vacation! The owners are using the AC froze up and cancellation policy to not do the RIGHT THING AND GIVE BACK AT LEAST 2 NIGHTS OF MY MONEY! I didn't even ask for 3 nights even though that would be fair, but I wanted to be nice and knew they had not done this on purpose! We have stayed at other VRBOs before and have never had a problem, but after this we will reconsider before staying with VRBO again! PLEASE RETHINK BEFORE RENTING THIS CABIN!
Owner response:I'm sorry our guests didn't catch fish, but trout fishing can prove to be challenging. Numerous guests, including my 88 year old dad, have caught large rainbow trout on the property. Our old heating system was replaced about 2 years ago with a new central heat and air system by a reputable company out of Atlanta. It was serviced just before these guests arrived and has not required any service since they left. We are totally flabergasted as to why they were not satisfied. These guests had no problem with water. They were asked to use water conservatively. All cabins in this area are on wells and conservation is always wise. David and I love sharing our cabin and want all our guests to be happy. We gave a partial refund, inspite of the policy posted on our website. Carol

Our family of 5 stayed for a wonderful week here. We were so impressed with the beautifully landscaped grounds, relaxing and inviting sitting areas under the trees and of course, the river! This cottage is completely private with a large yard that meets the river. The cottage was clean and met all of our needs. We were only 10 minutes from the historical downtown of Dahlonega where our son attended lacrosse camp each day. We traveled to Helen (15 minutes) and Blue Ridge where we rode the Blue Ridge Railway to TN! Thank you Carol and David for a great week in North Georgia.
