Our Second Stay Here -- Great for families with kids!

This is the second year in a row that we have stayed in the villa for a week-long visit. We love it -- the place is very clean, beautifully decorated (which really puts you in the mood for the beach!), and VERY well stocked in the kitchen and in beach supplies too. This year there were four of us: my husband and I in the main bedroom, our 7 month old baby in a pack-n-play in there with us too (which fit just fine), and my 4 year old daughter in the ADORABLE kids' room. There was plenty of room for all of us, and probably would have been plenty of room for more people too. It's nice to have two bathrooms, and by next year the baby will be able to stay in the kids' room too. The beach supplies are such a life-saver -- nice cart to put everything in, beach chairs, buckets and shovels and toys for the kids, beach umbrella, coolers in the pantry, etc. The only thing we needed to bring for ourselves was life vests for the kids and some sunscreen and beach towels -- everything else is already there. And it is a short walk to the beach -- find the path that goes through the gate for walkers. WITH kids and cart and stroller, in flip flops, it took me 8 minutes to get from villa to beach. Without kids or in better shoes, I'm sure it would be faster. We love Folly Field Beach, but this year we also had a lot of fun in the pool which is right beside the building -- very easy after swimming to just run right upstairs with the little kids. And we played ping-pong in the clubhouse. Actually, the people at the gate were super friendly and helpful this year, which was nice too. The Kenyons' place has some really sweet touches -- like children's books on the nightstand in the kids' room that we used for story time each night, beautiful dishes, helpful tips posted inconspicuously (which helped me to figure out how to use that fancy HDtv!) In my opinion, it's a lot better than a hotel room, because we have the kitchen, the two bedrooms (for early kid bedtimes!), and all the beach supplies. It's a lot homier. So I am really grateful that we found this place, and yes, after two visits, we are already planning to come back next year. It is SO nice to stay here. Thanks, you guys!

We had a great time. We were really impressed that your home had everything we needed. We even used the crock pot one day to make a roast. It really felt like home with all of your amenities. We've had an awesome week here in HHI. The weather was perfect the entire week and we got ALOT of beach in! We rented bikes and rode everyday. The condo is absolutely adorable and very comfortable. No complaints here! There is so much to do and we didn't get 1/2 the things done we wanted to, but we still had a BLAST! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

This was a great property. I loved that the pool was just down the stairs as opposed to being all the way across the property. My boys loved swimming in it and preferred it to the beach. The beach is a close walk about 10 minutes and the beach cart was a great way to haul all of our stuff. The beds were cozy and the place was clean with fresh towels all laid out. The only downside was that we were unaware that we would need to purchase dishwasher detergent and dish soap. That was very minor compared to the plusses. The kitchen was very well equipped and because of this we saved a ton by not eating out. That was one of my primary reasons for choosing a condo over a hotel room. My younger boys absolutely loved having a tv in their room and we sometimes wouldn't see them for hours :) I would love to come back and visit soon. There were some excellent local places that we would love to come back and visit as well. This condo was great and as a result our vacation was fab.

Owner response:We are so thrilled that you all had such a great week visit to our condo in Hilton Head!. Sorry about the detergents. I stocked everything at the beginning of the season with very large containers, so the kitchen must have been very busy. Part of the linens/cleaning service is to supply start- up soaps and detergents- they have been notified and will resupply them.. The beach is so close -less than a 5 minute walk...so glad that everyone loved having the pool so close- just down the stairs...The 3 TV's do come in handy when everyone is relaxing after a great day at the beach. We tried to supply every tool and gadget you would need in the kitchen for cooking and glad you thought so too. Glad to hear the cooking went well!. Thanks again for renting our condo. Hope to see again next year!

We loved the pool and beach- the water was warm and clear! The condo was great- everything but groceries was supplied :). The beach cart and chairs were lifesavers! The condo was very clean and decorated in a very cute theme. Our girls loved the colors of their bedroom. We were disappointed that it was not closer to the beach (description on internet was very misleading). Internet add also needs to let people know that this property is on the third floor.....glad no one in our party was handicapped or elderly or we would have had an awful time getting them up the stairs. Otherwise we had an okay experience..Probably will book somewhere else next year. Jen-Arden, NC

Owner response:We are so sorry to hear about your review . When our condo is booked, all guests are told it is a third floor unit. and you did state that was acceptable. Our condo complex is 3 and four story buildings with no elevators. We chose our condo because it was right next to the pool and love the sunny exposure and no pitter patter of little feet at 6am!! We are truly less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and a beach cart and all beach equipment for 6 persons is provided to make your walk/stay even easier.. I call all the guests during their stay, and was told everything was fine. So to get a poor review was surprising. We would have done everything we could have to make your stay a more enjoyable one .Our guests are very important to us!! Thanks again for staying at our condo. We appreciate our many guests and hope they return to Hilton Head for many more enjoyable vacations.:)

We stayed with the Kenyon's this past June 09. What you see on the photos is really like that!! Dora tha owner has been so accomodating. We were more than impressed with the charming and cosy decor of the unit. We have two young children, so we did not eat out much. The kitchen has everything that we needed with quality dishes, glassware, silverware, serving dishes and pots and pans. My husband was happily surprised to find a coffee press and a good coffee maker as well. The Beach was just wonderful... clean and quiet, literally five minutes down from the condo. We happily noticed that from where we were on the beach that there was only one machine seleling sodas: not other vendors for at least a quarter of a mile. We also saw many wildlife: fishing sea birds, star fish, sand dollars, one jelly fish, lots of shell things.... The resorts is quiet and well kept. Dora's condo has everything you can want and need to go to the beach, but if you have young children, bring their floaties and beach toys (trucks, pails, etc...). The island itself is worth a visit. It truly feels like you are on an other world, one made for vacations! We did mostly stay at the resort and the beach but a couple of days we went to the other platations. It was really hot so we enjoyed staying around water most of the time. We will definately consider coming back to the Kemyon's if we are close to south Carolina. I would recommend this unit without reservations to families with childrens (5+7 yrs old) or as a romantic getaway.

Owner response:We are so thrilled they had such a great time. We love the Folly Field beach and has such easy access from our condo. Our guests stayed for two weeks at our condo in June. They booked our condo by our Homeaway pictures and reviews. We do have a bag of sand toys (no trucks) with all the other beach equipment. Our family loves to cook and we made sure our kitchen is well provided for. Our condo does provide everything for you to have a great vacation and not worry about bringing anything but your clothes and beach towels! We hope our guests can return to our Kenyon's Kove beach condo in the near future. Thanks again for renting our condo and being such great guests!

Beautiful Condo & Beach Resort

We loved this Condo, it was exactly as the pictures show, very bright, cheerful, clean and very much decorated for the beach and home away from away vacation. Everything you need is there, very well equipped. The owners were wonderful. We arrived very late so we had to pick up keys in a drop box at the rental agency. It was rainy and dark so a little hard to find since we were unfamiliar with the area. When entering the condo we saw how beautiful the place was decorated but the A/C unit not working and it was very hot and humid making it hard for everyone to get to sleep. Instead of waking the owner up at midnight figuring nothing could be done that time of night, I sent the owner an email right away and in the morning she called me right away and the A/C was fixed promptly that morning and she compensated us with an additional nights stay. She also called back to make sure everything was alright and we were satisfied with the place. Everything else worked and having the pool right outside was also very nice. The beach is definitely within walking distance and the all the beach equipment, chairs, umbrella and the little buggy were life savers. We had the buggy packed and overflowing every day, it carried everything. It was very nice to be able to take chairs to the beach and have an umbrella for when we wanted to be out of the sun. Without that buggy it would have hard to take all that stuff with us. We could also pack and lunch and just stay as long as we wanted. We also enjoyed the tennis courts and never had to wait. I mostly cooked in the condo but when we did eat out the restaurants were wonderful and food very good. It rained a couple of times but with grandchildren who love to shop that gave us the time we needed to do the shopping. Overall our stay was great and we definitely plan to return. I would recommend this Condo to anyone whether just a couple on a relaxing romantic getaway or a family with young or older children. Look forward to seeing you again soon. I loved it and the grandchildren loved it.

My wife is one of those "beach lovers". Upon entering your unit, she became mesmerized. She wasn’t at Hilton Head, she was in “beach house heaven”. I lost count of how many, “Oh my gosh, look at this”, there were. Unpacking was the farthest thing from her mind. Your unit was truly decorated with “the beach” in mind. You both thought of everything when decorating the unit. Unit was close to the beach. Unit had beach chairs, umbrella and other beach items that you could use. We really liked that. I really nice place to stay. Very cozy.

Loved this place! I had two teens with me and we really enjoyed staying here...We stayed for Spring Break....everything is provided in the condo--They thought of everything...It is right next to the pool! The condo had everything possible you need...They really did a great job decorating and making it comfortable,clean and fresh and new! We rented from the one of the owners we met in Florida. Their descriptions and pictures were exactly the way it was...We would come back--just wish the weather had been warmer for our vacation! March was a bit cold this year! Beach was beautiful and clean and a very quick walk---a really affordable, beautiful place to go to visit Hilton Head!
