Holiday Suite Rental at the MonElissa Art Retreat.
1700 sq ft. of tastefully decorated living space in beautiful Bowser , Central Vancouver Island BC. A large one or two bedroom suite with well appointed kitchen, full bath, A private patio with gas BBQ, private entrance and driveway. Featuring electric stove, laundry facilities, 5 minute walk to the secluded Buccaneer Beach where eagles nest and teach their young to fly. It is a quiet rural setting just 20 minutes from Qualicum Beach and Qualicum Airport. Arrangements can be made for you to be picked up. Comox airport is only ½ hour Oceanside drive away. Or come by RV ~ there is room for one~ oh and bring your boat, the Deep Bay Marina is 5 minutes by car away.
Relax in the evening with a glass of wine in front of the wonderfully realistic electric fireplace. Read the many books supplied or watch a 37" flat screen TV.
This is the perfect retreat for Snow Birds escaping from more extreme climes thruout Canada.
Weather permitting, a tour by boat of the area can be arranged for a small fee.
Enjoy the ambiance of an artist's retreat.
Art lessons can be provided in the “MonElissa studio” which is on the same half acre property.
Just pick a date and the owner/artist Elissa Anthony will arrange a 2 or 4 hour lesson for you or your group. If you are staying for more than one week ~ how about her 4 ~ 2 hour session package?
Why not take a pottery or stained glass lesson? These too can be arranged.
Guests will receive a complimentary bottle of wine and a small gift basket with gourmet coffee, teas etc. Those arriving for an Art retreat will receive a complimentary basket of Art related supplies as well as a bottle of fine wine prepared by the owner.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2002
Elissa Anthony was born in Ontario and grew up in North Vancouver. She studied Art at George Brown College. Elissa then worked in a variety of art related jobs including printing, display and scenic art. Ever the restless spirit she traveled to Europe and spent 4 yrs studying fine art part time while traveling throughout Europe visiting major galleries and museums redefining her understanding of Art. In 1997 Elissa moved to Vancouver Island and the move proved inspirational. She developed her own style and sense of colour shortly thereafter. She paints in the expressionist style, her style is optimistic and relaxing to the viewer, and her colours are crisp, clean and vibrant.. Elissa captures emotion and soul on canvas. Her paintings grace homes in Europe , North America and Japan. You can find her work at Englishman River Gallery in Parksville, Nanaimo Art Gallery on Commercial street in Nanaimo, Art West on the highway to Port Alberni, the Waterlily Gallery in Ucluelet, The Shorewind Gallery in Tofino, and at her newly renovated studio “The MonElissa” in Bowser. She also teaches various forms and techniques of art to adults and children at her studio “MonElissa“, in Bowser. She loves to share with others the joys she has found in the art world. Why the Owner Chose Bowser
I chose this property because it had a building which I converted into a studio gallery. I then went about developing the downstairs into a lovely retreat suite. Come and stay, relax, enjoy. I love the closeness of the ocean and in the spring I can hear the Seals and Eagles making the most of the herring run. I paint full time and teach here at my new studio. We can take our boat out from the Deep Bay Marina which is only 5 minutes away by car or walk to the beach from the house which only take 2 minutes.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Its a 5 minute walk to the Village of Bowser where you can visit the library or the Art Gallery at The beacon or enjoy a cup of coffee and lunch at the Bean Counter. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach from here. Park your boat or RV here. Then drive 5 minutes to Deep Bay Marina and launch your boat. Many walking trails abound. Kayaking rentals nearby. Bikes available upon request.

What a wonderful relaxing time we had. The suite is large and offers all the comforts of home.Although it is not right on the beach, we could walk to a very secluded beach where we spent lots of afternoons. My husband and I took several art lessons. I never thought I could paint a landscape but with Elissa's guidance I completed my first landscape painting! When we got home my daughter laid claim to it for their new home! All in all a memorable trip. Elissa is a great hostess........Gail
